#1--Grand Central Bakery (local)
#3--Trader Joes

Safeway? Wow. I would have never expected. I'm going to try it.

I see Pillsbury is #6 on the list. That's what I use when I make a pie; which is RARE. But my mom uses them all the time.

That's interesting. I've always used Pillsbury. I'm thinking that I need to switch brands.

I have never tried any of those. I don't have any of those stores nearby.

I do find that nearly every store bought pie crust around here has lard. So I use Immaculate Baking company ones more because they are lard-free than because of their taste.

That's how my mom made hers when I was a kid. She made delicious crusts.

I will be trying the Safeway brand. I think I have been very happy with every store brand I have ever bought there. When price is a factor, I always buy their brand. JMO - their store brand is the best of all store brands for food.

And no, I don't work there...

Pappy's Pie Crust - it comes as disks in a box. You have to roll them out. Lard based - best pie crust I have ever had.

Interesting I have always used Pilsbury if I use store bought and didn't even know that Trader Joes had pie crust. I think I will have to try them next time I want an easy pie crust.

I've used both the HEB (Hill Country Fare) and Kroger brand and thought they were good. I'm not a huge pie person, though.

I think Pillsbury is what I have used too. I make pie so rarely though, I am not even sure that is the brand. It is whatever is the most common one you see in all the stores. Most of the time when I use a store-bought pie crust, I am making quiche. (ETA Even quiche I usually make crustless now)

I didn't even realize we could still buy lard! I usually used Crisco for my pies and cake frosting. It's texture has changed due to trans fats or something. U live making homemade pie crust but the last few I made just didn't do as well. I guess I may be trying again Thanksgiving. I love a butter pie crust to make a southern peach cobbler. Um UM Um I am getting hungry!
