I have been trying to buy a Genesis Trimmer for almost a year now and they have been out of stock. Does anyone know if they will have more or if they are going out of business?

I think I waited 3 years for one. I love it!

They have always had a long waiting list. At one point I think it was 3 years.

I have a Genesis and love it! If I were you, I would just call Bonnie -- she is very enthusiastic and great to talk to. She might be able to give you a better idea of timeframe.

I have called a couple times and either Bonnie answered herself, or I spoke to someone who gave Bonnie a message which she returned very quickly.

I purchased mine awhile ago. I was able to order it, then they called before they shipped it to see if I still wanted it.

For me to finally get it was about a year and a half wait. It was WELL worth the wait. I love it.

I have the 16" with edge light.

Why such a long wait list? With a product that hot, why aren't they producing more?

The wait time was because these trimmers are made by hand, well made no plastic. The scrapbookers got wind on this and this trimmer really took off. My wait was nine months but that was back in 2003. I also believe it is a smaller operation, not certain on that...

I have not had to change the blade once.

They were for people in the world of photography , when accuracy is needed for cutting on photos and film. I think I said this right...

Bonnie is a wonderful lady, my husband and I met her once at a Stamp Convention , she took this company over a few years ago. The trimmer was made in Maine, she is in the south. It did take her a bit of time to get the whole thing up and running to get the right people in place to make them...Great lady.

The prices are on her site as well, I also got the 16" and side light.

***if Bonnie sees this "Hi to our Southern Belle from the Yanks up here"*** (its what my husband and I call her)

I waited over a year for mine, too, but it was well worth the wait! I got the 16" with the edge light. It's amazingly well made and very accurate.

I believe if you get on the waitlist, they contact you when your trimmer is ready to confirm you still want it so there's no risk.

I looked through my emails and I purchased mine in October 2012. It was mailed out to me a few days after I ordered it.

It's a very worthwhile purchase.

If you're interested in purchasing one, I'd give the company a call. Let us know what you find out.

I've had mine for about 11 years. Maybe 12. One of my best scrapbooking purchases ever.

Thanks for the explanation. I am recovering from a bit of sticker shock, but then again, if it lasts as long as everyone says I am sure to get my money out of it. I can't count the number of Fiskars trimmers I have gone through in the last few years.

I just added myself to the wait list!

I got mine second hand about 3 years ago. It is an amazing piece of furniture. It takes up a lot of space on a countertop so you need room for it. You will love it if you order it, though.

I can't afford the Genesis so the CutterPillar is on my wishlist this year. It looks similar and it's only $99!

I have a Cutterpillar Pro...and I am happy with it so I can't justify purchasing a new trimmer at this time. If I had to do it over again, though, I would get the Genesis because I think it's a superior trimmer (I have issues with the fence and paper slipping under it) ...and it's made in the USA!!!

The Genesis is the best trimmer, hands down. I've had men for 10 years and it is literally operating and looking as great as the day ! So far it's cost me about 7
cents/day!
