Bookmarks Challenge (submitted by Theresa)

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

For this month's challenge go to the 12th page and use the 12th layout as your inspiration. If you don't have 12 pages in your bookmarks just take the 12th layout on the last page.

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

Digi Challenge (submitted by Debi)
Check out Day 16 and 24...surely you can come up with some page on how CHOCOLATE infiltrates your life...and if not, use brown on your layout. Add some sparkle (glitter?) to make your page festive.

Remember just because I dabble in digi, doesn't mean you have to...all projects (paper, hybrid, cards, digi) are welcome.

Happy December all!

Thanks for the new thread Debi. Hope more people participate in this one.

Came in from church, cooked lunch and then took a 3 hour nap. Yes, I'd say I was tired.

Going to go work on Christmas Cards for church people so I can take some to church tonight (haven't started any homemade ones yet). I sent almost 100 photos to Walgreens last night so I'll have shower photos (amongst other things) to scrap after I pick them up on Tuesday (sent them to the store in Madisonville and I'm not going there til then).

Thanks for the thread, Debi
I am definitely going to scrap at least SOMETHING this month. And try to check in and chat more. I miss you ladies!
Today was simply a wonderful end to Thanksgiving break. Getting organized, decorating for Christmas, and just hanging out with my family. The simple things!
Hope you all have a nice week.

Happy Sunday Sweet Peas!

I hope that you all had a nice weekend! I just got back from dropping Olivia off, she had a nice long weekend home with us, but she's back to school. She has classes and finals until December 20th, so she'll be back then. We did her birthday party with the family yesterday so that she would get a party this year, her birthday isn't til the 17th, but she has finals that day. It's sooo hard to believe that she is going to be 20...I really don't know where the time has gone.

We put up the tree and started decorating the house...and then I remembered...that I was kind of tired all of all my red/green/silver stuff last year. I think my sweet hubby must have been kind of tired of it all too...we've been piling it up fo 20 years. So he gave me his card and sent me & O off to buy new stuff. We came home and took down most of what we'd put up and started over. We decided to make our tree hot pink/aqua/light green...and it is full of glittery stuff and curly Q thingies that stick out. I'm sure that some day in the future i'll look at the pics and wonder what I was thinking, but right now...I love it! My hubby is definitely a good sport.

Kim - I'm so happy to see you back with us. Get to scrapping girl...can't wait to see what you make. Thank you for the sweet comments on my LO's. I have missed having your sweet self wtih us. I need to start logging all of my stuff on MFP again, I did it faithfully for several months and did really well...but I've been backsliding lately...it's time to start logging again and get back on the wagon. Catching Fire was amazing! I loved it. Now we are waiting for the new Hobbit movie to come out...I love this time of the year when all of the new shows come out. My girls are excited about the Divergent previous too, I like that book, but am less hooked on it than Hunger Games.

Theresa - Happy Anniversary!!!

Toni - Don't work too hard girlie, I can't imagine being at Joanne's over Thanksgiving weekend, I'm sure that it had to be crazy. Take care of yourself!

Nylene - Your Thanksgiving full of your kids & grandkids sound awesome! I wish we had a big, close knit family like yours.

I'm tired...we went to church and then to the Colts game today...they won...yay! It's been a long weekend, but a lot of fun. Have a nice evening!

Tina

hello! Long time, no see!

Busy around here, as usual. I finished my first term back in school (they are 8 weeks long, so A LOT of work!). I already started again... I wasn't happy about going straight through December without a break, but that is how my admissions rep first set it up and it was too late to change it Hopefully these 2 classes won't be so bad - I have a math and a business class, both of which I am SURE I have taken already at some point.

Besides school, work is keeping me busy! I really like my job. Love the people I work with and the job itself. I wish my schedule was more consistent, but I deal with it!

Not much time for scrapping around here lately... although, I do have exciting news! I am now on a design team that Diana heads - it is a new challenge blog called Off the Rails. The very first challenge was posted just other day: Come play along!

I hope you are all doing well, and that you had a nice Thanksgiving! I'll try to stop by more often!

Hello Everyone!

Theresa, thank you for the info about opening a new window. It's very helpful!

I'm glad that everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. My family just LOVES the holidays so it's nice to be around people who don't complain about everything all the time!

I went to my mom's condo, spent 5 days there. My sister and I did all the cooking and cleaning up - tons of work but it's worth it when everything tastes so good and everyone enjoys it so much. I took my new dog, Gypsy, up there with me and she was SO good! She's friendly with everyone. She met several other dogs, including my brother's new cocker spaniel. It was a fun few days - but I'm VERY glad to be home now! There was a 65 car pile-up in Worchester, MA, on the road that I take to get home from Mom's, so I had to go around it. The traffic was HORRIBLE, a 2 hour drive took more than 5 hours. But we are home safe now and I'll sleep well in my own bed!

You guys inspire me so much with all your talk about cleaning and organizing. Yes, I'm a Professional Organizer, but sometimes I get lazy and... well, there is certainly work that could be done around here! I'll just have to keep chatting with you and STAY inspired!

Tomorrow I have to clean the house so we can start decorating. The house was clean when I left for Mom's but Mark was here for 5 days by himself (he joined us for Thanksgiving dinner, of course) so now the house needs cleaning again. Then I need to get out all the Christmas stuff I bought during the year - I shop all year long. I need to see what I've already bought for whom so that I can figure out what I still need to buy. I love Christmas shopping and WRAPPING!

Debi, it's too bad that one of your boys is struggling with school. And also, it's a shame about your insurance not covering your doctors. Life just keeps throwing you one rotten apple after the other! I do hope that your lungs clear up SOON - it's about time the pneumonia let go of you!

I guess Mark and I need to go see 'Catching Fire'! I have not read the books but did enjoy the first movie. We are both also looking forward to seeing 'The Hobbit' movie.

My bed is calling me! Talk to you all soon. Cathy

Hello all hope you are having a wonderful Monday. It's crazy that it is December already. Where did this year go. I was up way before everyone else this morning so been working on my Christmas cards and such, I think I bit off a little bit more than I can chew but they will all get done. Yesterday my DH and I had a fun adventure taking apart 2 Playstation 3's and combining them in to 1 that we hope will work, that is after I put the plug back on that I forgot to connect.

Tina- Sounds like a fun time decorating, I got so busy with other stuff that I forgot to put up my decorations. Sounds like you have a very pretty tree too.

Monica- Hey there so glad to see you, all of us are coming back lately. Sounds like you are just as busy as I am, only my classes are 16 weeks but still crazy. So glad that you are enjoying your job and I will have to go and check out that blog maybe it will help me get scrapping again.

Cathy- That is a long drive home. Sounds like your new doggie did very well though.

Well need to get this day started, hoping to get my Christmas decor up today before DH goes to work, we'll see.

Sounds like everyone had a good holiday, hurray!

I crashed all day yesterday so still have to put away all the decoration boxes and do some cleaning. Woke up not feeling great, not sick, per say, just not great. Hoping that goes away soon.

Cathy, I saw that wreck on TV, looked horrid, glad you weren't in it. I'm sure traffic everywhere yesterday was bad. Jeremy drove back home to Lexington from Delaware on Saturday. He didn't want to wait til the last day because he figured traffic would be bad. He saw one truck on fire but other than that nothing. Kate stayed at her Mom's for another week so he's a single furbaby Dad all week. Told him to enjoy the quiet, 32 days left til Julianne is due!

Charlie Brown Christmas (full uncut version) comes on TV tonight so it must be Christmas!

Hi guys!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving. I spent the weekend with my girls and my cousin, we had a good time. I also got quite a bit of shopping done, too. My cousin lives ten minutes from lots and lots of shopping. Even though it was black friday, it's still easier for me to shop up there. I have to drive an hour for good shopping. I think I will Amazon the rest.

I have the next three days off. Was looking forward to a quiet, kid-free day at home, but the school just called and high school is letting out due to a water main break. So my oldest two will be home soon.

Oh well, maybe I can pay them to wrap my Christmas presents. i hate wrapping, and they want to earn some money...

MONICA- Congratulations! I checked out that site and it looks very interesting. Challenges get me scrapping. I Have been doing the ones here from the Garden Girls.

Nice to see MONICA and JODI and CATHY here! And all the regulars, of course!! I am glad I am popping on here more. I need my scrapbooking hobby and community. Sometimes I forget that.

Well, off to do something. See ya later!!

Cyber Monday took over my morning. I did find the shirt/tie and pants that I wanted to get Jeremy and the skateboard Austin wanted at kohls.com, shirt same price as BF but the other stuff less. Got several other things too and they're shipping to the house for free.

Cyber Monday has kidnapped me too although having trouble deciding what to buy and what not to buy.

Lots of errands to do today.

I think the pneumonia is here to stay...I personally don't feel like I'm improving at all...frustrating to say the least.

Nice to see so many "old" friends dropping in again.

running behind so off I go
Have a great day

Hi, all!

Cathy, wish I could hire you to come work on my scraproom. It is really coming along and I have done a lot of purging, but it's just not big enough for all my scrap stuff and all my Cub Scout stuff.

Mandy, nice to see you. I was looking at pages of your girls. They are so pretty and growing up so quickly.

Tina, glad you had a great reunion with Olivia. Family always makes me happy...tired, but happy. I know you will have a large, close family when your children get married. You have set a good example of respect for one another, and that's what it takes to have a big, close, harmonious family. There are sometimes personality differences but being respectful of one another seems to overcome those.

Theresa, sounds like you have been busy. Your Christmas crafts you posted are so gorgeous. I'd love to do some with my Cubs, but we are in the middle of the Scientist Badge and only have 2 weeks in Dec.to finish it. Are you getting anxious for the new arrival? That ornament was priceless.

Jodi, I love seeing that cute photo of your DD on your avatar. So sweet. Hope you get the Playstation to work.

Kim, can't wait to see what you scrap. I have always loved your clean and classy pages. How's the family?

Monica, long time no see. How much schooling do you have left? Is this for your bachelor's? Nice to see you.

Debi, we need updates on your health. It sounds like you are up and around but still in pain and still "crackling". Take it easy. Keep warm and let those boys serve you. It's good for you and even better for them. Ok, now I'm off my "grandma" soapbox.

I've managed to catch the sore throat, etc. that the grands had. I'd like to just curl up in my warm bed and sleep the day away. Of course there is just too much to do! I'm trying to decide when to do Christmas decorating. It will be such a challenge to keep little Alex out of things this year. I may scale down some things.

Hugs to all.

NYLENE you are so silly...in one paragraph you tell me to rest and get better then in the next you say how you don't feel well but are up doing stuff...hmmm. Maybe you should take some of your own advice and give your body a rest to heal. LOL

I am up and about but yes, still crackling (Personally I think more than I used to) and some pain in the lower right side where the plural effusion is...but this is going to be around awhile so I can't just slough off every day...maybe every other one....LOL

Been to the bank, a meeting and now I'm home waiting for the kids to get home to see if they want to go down to the Ultimate clothing store and preview the new items being introduced this week...Christmas wish list any one...

Just had a nice warm bowl of biryani (it gets better sitting a day or two after making it to let all the spices meld together). Yum!

Mail just came so got to go through that and then see what else the day brings.

Debi - Didn't your mother ever teach you to "do as I say, not as I do?" I don't feel anywhere nearly as bad a you do. Mine is just a simple cold at this point. You are so cute!

Forgot to post my project. This is a little mini-album that I taught at Card Club for November. Then DGD and I made some more over the Thanksgiving weekend. It's the perfect size for small photos and a gift card. Sammie is going to make them for her friends for Christmas. Thank you, thank you, Theresa, for posting the instructions to this in October.

Hey Peas!

I hope that you all had a happy day. It's so nice to see Kim, Cathy, Jodi, Mandy, etc. hanging with us again. I like it when things are live and happening around here. I had a good day at work and went to yoga this evening before I came home. I like doing it, it really helps me to de-stress before I come home.

Monica - Glad to hear that you are liking your job & co-workers. I hope that your classes go well and that you are able to manage everything that you have going on. Congrats on the DT too!

Cathy - I wish you lived in Indiana, I'd hire you to Christmas shop and wrap. I don't mind shopping, but I never have time to do it and I always postpone wrapping all of it until Christmas Eve...and then wish that I didn't procrastinate.

Well, I need to go get Mal from show choir practice. Have a nice day all!

Tina, I want to see those aqua/pink/glittery Christmas decorations! Be still my heart!! Yes, my whole family loved Catching Fire! Even DH, who doesn't read! As soon as the credits were rolling, he was like, "I have to wait how long for the next one?" Heaven forbid he actually pick up a book. I did see the Divergent preview, but neither Evan nor I have read it. I know that series is very popular with the kids at school. YAY for yoga after work! I couldn't agree with you more It has changed my life! (I know, so dramatic.. but so true!!)

Nylene, didn't I read somewhere you have a new grandbaby? (Congrats!!! even though maybe it's been a while?) My boys are growing up soooooo fast. Evan is in 7th grade at the middle school where I teach. He is in fact one of my students in the gifted program, so we have to interact in the classroom on a daily basis. It's been interesting... but not that bad. We try hard to separate our mom/son selves from our teacher/student selves. Greyson is in 4th grade and growing like a weed. He keeps us on our toes but he keeps us laughing too. Greyson plays both basketball and soccer, and he is now asking to play football in the fall. He does love his sports!! Evan has been playing trumpet in the middle school band. Seems that he has really fallen in love with music. Life has been a roller coaster ride but I'm hanging on tight, because I know this lively phase will be over too fast.

Jodi, speaking of time flying, your baby girl is getting so big. How old is she now? She's so cute in your profile pic. Good luck with your finals!!! How much longer do you have?

Hey there Mandy!

Monica, what are you studying in school? I'd also love to hear more about your job. I need to go check out Diana's new gig too! I hope she will stop in and say hi.

Well, tomorrow is a long and busy day, and I've already stayed up past my bedtime. School, then a technology class after school, Greyson's basketball practice, and Evan's winter band concert.

Hope you all have a good one.

~Kim

Gosh everyone is so busy...makes me tired just reading the posts.

I managed to scrap a page today...(it is the season of miracles after all) but can't share it as it's part of a submission for a contest. Will let you know if it gets selected or not later. It's a page about a Christmas ornament I bought for my first Christmas away from home.

I need to go to bed, but of course, I'm wide awake. Took my prednisone late today by accident and now I'm paying for it. Oh well, gives me time to catch up on the computer I guess.

I had every intention of shopping online today but I had too much going on to have any time to focus on that.

How does everyone get everything done? Is it possible?

Hi everyone!

Good to hear you all had a good Thanksgiving.

Cathy, that drive home sounds scary. Glad you made it safely. Icy/ snow-covered driving is a bit unimaginable to me. Here I'm grumbling because my car hasn't got air-con and it's around 95 every day...

Last day of school for the year for my kids tomorrow - we only go back on the 15th of Jan. I'm looking forward to the more relaxed mornings, no homework and less rushing in general, but now I need to start entertaining them... This past week was hectic. My computer decided it just wouldn't connect to the internet, so I missed out on a lot of the weekend/ Cyber Monday deals. Maybe not a bad thing

My uncle died last night in a car crash - horrible one where they need dental records for identification; so we are all a bit shocked. He wasn't married/ had kids so we are pretty much all the family he had. My dad is devastated (his brother) though they hadn't been close in years. I hadn't seen him since my mother's wake last year. We are still waiting to hear exactly what happened, but sounds as if he hit a wall on the freeway and the car burnt out. Happened right across the country from here, so it is difficult to get accurate information.

Anyway, it's great to see all the chatter going on.

Theresa - WOW, I can't believe Julienne is almost here. It feels like just the other day you announced the pregnancy.

Tina - The colour-scheme for your tree sounds amazing. We haven't got ours up yet. Need to get it done before Saturday though, as we have my work year-end bbq here then. Good for your hubby sponsoring a shopping trip. Treasure that man!

Debi - aaw, that illness really needs to pack it's bags and get out of your house. Been way too long. Any progress with your son and schoolwork? I presume you would have had a good talk with him? From what I gather they are both very smart kids, so he shouldn't be struggling. Is this what being a teenager is all about - can't we feed them something to keep them small then?

Mandy - I'm so impressed with your scrapping this past month. You go, girl! Send some of that mojo here too please!

Need to go wrap teacher's gifts for tomorrow and see if I can kill the mozzies in our room before bedtime. They kept me up half the night. Heinrich and I are having a battle of wills about the mosquito net. He says it's too hot for the net but the mozzies don't bite him. I can't sleep because I'm being eaten alive. This is why marriage is called work, hey?

Have a great day and (can't believe I'm saying this) stay warm!

MICHELLE Noah is struggling for a few reasons, being a teenager is only one of them, his lack of self confidence despite his capability and the fact he doesn't want to do the work but wants to play instead. It's a daily battle. Owen however is bucking up and doing better. so one down, one to go.

Yes I agree this pneumonia is getting old. If it keeps residency much longer I've going to have to give it a name and start charging rent. Oy!

So much to do before Christmas and so little motivation/energy...maybe Noah comes by it naturally...hmmm.

Whether you are off for holiday (MICHELLE) or simply trying to prepare for them, I hope all of you take time to relax and enjoy the day.

Here's a LO I made today...boy it took me forever, guess I'm out of practice.

Family Thanksgiving

Went to the doc with Randy, he got a new prescription for his reflux (mind you he still doesn't have any signs of reflux), out for lunch, then groceries at Wal-Mart while we waited 1-1/2 hours for the script to be filled correctly (first time was $158, second $10--oh yeah, I'll wait). The store didn't use our insurance the first time. The store was packed. It's the 3rd of the month so all the old folks were out and we're anticipating a winter storm hitting Friday so people were out for that too. Almost all the milk in the store already gone. Crazy people around here, they've already put stuff on the road and it's supposed to rain tomorrow. After the massive ice storm of 2009 any sign of freezing rain causes sheer panic.

Michelle, I am so sorry to hear about your uncle. How terrible.

Nylene, I have to let you know all those ornaments I posted last month were not ones I've made this year. They were years gone by and I just posted them as a prompt to get people thinking about new ones for this year. I've only made the one for the baby and Austin and I made a few last week but didn't take photos. I am going to make a few more tomorrow with my silhouette.

Off to go to a swim meet for Jackson. Have a great night all.

Hi Everyone!

Do any of you have this problem? You sit down at the computer ready to read and respond to your emails when a cuddly cat settles down right on your arms. You can move enough to use the mouse but typing is out of the question. The cat is SO happy, purring and content, you just hate to move her, so you read your emails but don't respond... then more emails come in and you get further behind... No? It's only me then? My beautiful, long-haired, golden-eyed cat is on my arms purring her head off right now, but she's given me a tiny bit of room to move my hands so I can type. How can I resist someone who's SO happy just to be with me?

I had a busy day today so we aren't going to decorate tonight. We'll get it done tomorrow - we MUST, because I'm going out of town again this weekend. It's such a short season this year! And I do love to see our house all decorated.

NYLENE, I wish you could hire me too! I'd LOVE to help you with your hobby room.

TINA, I'd also love to help you shop and wrap! I actually have done some 'professional' wrapping - in other words, people paid me. But it's simply not feasible to do it as a business. No one wants to pay $30 for a sweater for Uncle Bill and then pay another $20 to have it wrapped - and I can't do it for less and still make any money. Too bad, it would be such a fun way to earn some extra cash!

I agree with Debi - you guys are all SO busy it almost makes me tired just to read your posts! You all have kids and/or jobs - I don't know how you balance it all. You inspire me to be less lazy!

I hope those of you who aren't feeling well get better. Debi, that pneumonia has GOT to go! How long have you been sick now?

Thanks to everyone who has welcomed me back. I'll try to stay around because I do LOVE a lively chat! Cathy

Michelle, I'm so sorry about your uncle.

Debi, I never get it all done.

Theresa, reading your comments about the ice makes me nervous. I am supposed to go to an *awesome* conference on educational technology with some of my *favorite* colleagues, leaving Sunday morning, back on Tuesday. Problem is, we could be driving right into some ice on our way to Roanoke. Fingers, toes, and everything else crossed that 1.) it stays too warm for much ice or 2.) the precip is delayed until AFTER we arrive at noon on Sunday.

I am a proud mama tonight; Evan and the rest of the middle school concert band sounded fantastic at their Christmas concert! Now I'm drinking my one glass of wine and wrapping up a few things I need to do for school tomorrow. (wine and schoolwork always end up going together, somehow...)

Hugs to you all.

~Kim

Good morning my lovely friends. This weather around my place is crazy, it's supposed to be close to 50 today and then by next week it is the highs are only going to be in the upper 20's. So I'm sure that we will have some ice and snow very soon. Had a pretty rough day yesterday, went to get in my car to go to school last night and low and behold the darn thing wouldn't start. Lucky for me I have wonderful in-laws and they came and got Joelle and I and let me borrow their car so I could go to class. Hopefully it is just he battery and it will be all fixed today.

Michelle- So sorry to hear about your Uncle, that is just a tragedy.

Kim- Joelle will be 2 in a couple of weeks and yes time does fly by, we converted her crib into a toddler bed this past weekend and I kinda wanted to cry. Hope that the rain/ice waits till you are safe and sound. As for school I actually have about 3 to 4 more years to finish, I'm starting Western Michigan University in January to work on my bachelors degree.

Theresa- I'll never understand the complete panic that people get into when they think something is going to hit especially when its a few days out, the whole forecast could change 2 or three times before then.

Cathy- I don't have a cat that likes to sit in my lap, but I usually have a small little girl that wants "up" as soon as I sit down at the computer. But she causes the same issues

Debi- I agree with everyone else, that sickness has got to take a hike.

Well all my quiet time is up hear a little one calling, hopefully will be back later.

Happy Tuesday all!

Have to say that a swim meet is almost as boring as a chess meet. Jackson's school won though. He did okay in his races, didn't finish last in any of them so that's good. He was goofing off and missed one totally which I'm sure got him in some trouble. In fairness to him, it was hard to hear the race numbers, the sound system in the pool area is not good. Still it was his responsibility to keep track and he knew the sound system was bad.

Rant coming up so feel free to ignore. I got into a huge argument with my sister on the phone on my way home last night. I called her about something and she kept going on and on about how many new decorations she'd bought for her house. She was excited about them and wanted me to come see them when she got them all up. In a teasing voice, I reminded her that she hadn't paid us for her share of the shower yet. She chuckled and said, "oh yeah, I keep forgetting." Then she started going on and on about how she didn't get to help go shopping for the shower (she chose not to go because she didn't want to take Austin and didn't want to pay the babysitter to watch him when we went), didn't get to help decorate the day before (she chose to take Austin to two birthday parties that afternoon and stay at each one not getting home til almost 6 p.m.) and how she didn't get invited to the wedding so she didn't think she should have to pay much for the shower. Mind you, she VOLUNTEERED to split the cost of the shower. She helped plan it, deciding what decorations, food, etc. and the date long before the birthday parties were scheduled. Her name was listed on the invitation as she and Trish cohosting it and she was there the whole thing accepting compliments on the shower, taking photos, playing the wonderful aunt who loves her nephew so much. Before the shower, she said she'd split the bill three ways. I've mentioned it to her several times since and she kept giving me excuses for not having extra cash right now, wait til I get paid Friday, etc. When she started ranting about not getting to do any fun stuff and just having to "do dishes" after the shower (she didn't wash that many herself because my SIL Kay washed some, Trish and I did some too and Trish and I both washed them all before the shower so we could use them and it was just serving stuff anyway, we used plastic utensils, cups and plates). She turned back again to not getting to have anything to do with the wedding, pretend crying all the time and I couldn't take it anymore. I told her to just shut up and hung up. If I'd stayed on the phone a minute longer I would have told her off good. She called the house and demanded Randy put me on the phone (not sure why, I'd told her I was on my way home from the swim meet and she has caller ID on her phone). He told her I wasn't here, even said I went to the swim meet. She told him he was lying, that I had just called her and her caller ID said it was from home. Randy said he told her that her caller ID was wrong because I wasn't here. She then yelled at him told him that I was to never contact her again that she was "finished" with me and hung up. I was going to call her back when he told me but he said to let her be. It was her choice to say not to contact her so let her deal with the consequences. She posted on FB "Loves when u point out facts to people...they get mad actually tell u to Shut up and hang up on u like a 2 year old" ROFL. Anyway, that's how my evening ended up!

Despite all that I feel better than I did the last couple of days, which is good because there is a stomach virus going around and I was concerned that I was getting it. Hoping to get the guest room cleaned then be able to be a little crafty. Also have to get a cover letter typed up and send my resume to the local pediatrician's office. They're looking for a nurse.

THERESA I hate when family doesn't take responsibility...send her a bill for her part of the shower expenses. None of the other stuff matters (how she did/did not participate) if she offered to pay then she should pay. Otherwise just let her stew. You don't need the headaches.

I made a quick LO this a.m. (no product used)

Did get my resume to the post office, delivered an ornament to a friend and then went back out to pick up another small set of lights for the set that was burnt out on the porch tree. It's 70 degrees outside today but super windy. Got a call from a friend (who happens to be the sheriff's wife). She wanted to let me know that her husband had a conference call with the national weather people and they say we'll definitely get ice first on Friday then snow on top of it. Supposed to be in the teens on Saturday so that'll hold it in for a little longer but the ground has to be way too warm now for it to be here for long. He did say that they said it won't be like the ice storm we had in 2009 due to the warm weather we've had. The temps then were in the 20's and 30's for weeks before the storm hit. Although it did get up to 70 two weeks after it hit.

Debi, won't send my sister a bill although it would be funny. I'll just write it off and we're talking close to $100 (divided between me and Trish) so it's not like it's a small amount either. I told Trish she'd never see any money when she didn't pay us by the shower. Just plan on saying nothing and letting her stew. Randy said she needs me a whole lot more than I've ever needed her. She'll stew a while, then either call and pretend nothing happened or "be the better person" and apologize even though she'll swear she was in the wrong. She's done it her whole life. That's the reason she wasn't invited to the wedding, Jeremy has never forgiven her for the way she treated our Mom. He saw it first hand and after Mom died she acted like she'd been there for her caring for her every day, etc. Anyway, some people just don't change.

Hello all! We are in a winter wonderland of snow up here in South Dakota. Windy too. WE were supposed to go to Sioux FAlls today to get Greg's leg checked up on but called that off.
Prayers for my mom - she needs an angiogram and maybe a stent. Have been through this with my dad a lot but first time for her. Has me a little worried. I'm just hoping it is not any more serious than a stent.
Read through the chatter. There is a lot going on with everyone. Without going through all - just know I'm thinking of you.

Melanie, saw your post on FB. Thanks for the heads up about the calendar, I ordered one. Going to wrap it up and put it under the tree from Randy, won't he be surprised to see what he bought. For those that didn't see her note, Scrapbook and Cards has a coil bound calendar for 2014 that includes PageMap sketches, journaling prompts and scrapbook ideas. It ships to the US and Canada for $16.40.

Temp down to 42 from 71 yesterday, crazy! Ran back to W-M because I bought the wrong size battery for the lantern. Took Aunt Joyce some homemade peanut butter candy and am back home again. Rain supposed to start again later tonight, turn to freezing rain then snow. Hoping that we get snow and not ice. Another front coming through on Sunday. Called Jeremy last night and he called Kate to have her come in tonight instead of Friday night, she was able to change her flight so that's good. Storm supposed to be in Lexington Friday and they are going to get a whole lot more snow than we are.

That's it for me. Have a great Thursday all.

It's mighty cold for us PNWesteners...down to 26 again this a.m. when boys hiked off to school. Noah finally caved from wearing his hoodie to wearing a real coat, gloves and a stocking had. Owen, just doubled up the hoodies (one plain, one Sherpa lined) LOL.

I am suffering today from the yardwork I did yesterday...barely can move today but have to go to the post office and the bank, so as soon as I can stumble down the stairs I'm out of here.

Anyone know if it's too late to get a portrait package done for Christmas? Walmart? Pennys? Sears? Other?

Got to wrap up some last bits of paperwork submission to the hospital and still trying to find out what my options are for healthcare plans...said they'd send me the plans but so far...NADA

Did another no product LO this a.m. Trying to catch up with the few photos I have from this year...I haven't been taking many photos darn it.

Have about 1/4 inch of ice everywhere right now and looks like 4-8 inches of snow headed here by morning. Needless to say, cancelled my scrapbook crop for the night. Probably going to reschedule for next Friday but may just cancel it for the month, waiting for majority rule from the others. December is such a busy month, hard to get a group together.

Hope the storms don't cause problems for any of you all.

Very little snow and about an inch or so of ice.

Randy's sick, respiratory bug, coughing up green stuff, etc. Made him call in today, he never calls in and with the weather it wasn't a good time for him not to be there but he didn't need to share his cold. Glad I made him stay home, don't have to worry about him being out late tonight. Couldn't get him in to the doctor, they all closed at noon because of the weather. Will have him call in tomorrow too I think because he has to sing in the cantata next weekend so we have to get him healthy.

Michelle, thought about you and the rest of the people in South Africa over the death of Mandela.

Sorry I've been absent. Been under the weather all this week. Hope to see the doctor on Monday.

Michelle, so sorry about the death in your family. Hugs to all of you!!

Theresa, so sorry you and your sister are having issues. I hope things can be smoothed over. I'm sure you will have to be the one to do the smoothing!!

I've been worrying about all you pea pals with the COLD and ICY weather. Personally I haven't left the house in a week, so it's not bothering me, but the other night I thought, "I'm glad Theresa doesn't have that long drive home in the ice storms anymore." It's miserably cold and windy here, but the snow has stopped until Sunday night. Then we'll get another storm.

Melanie, how is your mother doing? Has she had the procedure. My dear friend's DH had a heart attack at our Pack Night 3 weeks ago and had to have a stent put in. He said he hasn't felt this good in a year. I hope they find that they can help her and that it's not difficult for her to recover. Hugs and prayers.

Debi, I love seeing you scrapping! Hope that means you are doing better.

I'm heading back to bed while Steve does all the Sat. grocery shopping. That man is a KEEPER!

Nylene, hate that you're sick. Glad Steve is there to nurse you back to health.

Mandy hope you get to play with your new Cricut cartridge, not sure what is on that one.

Tina, my friend Lisa and her son are have been in Indy for the last two weeks. He's the one with cancer, so he's up there getting treated. She's hoping her husband and some other friends can get up there today to visit.

Had to get out of my jammies and go to Wal-Mart's pharmacy. Randy's doc (a friend of ours) called him in some antibiotics today. Also is making him use a nasal spray, you can probably hear the whining at your house!

Once I got the RAV opened (it was frozen) and the windshields clear I didn't have any trouble getting off my street because it is a snow route. Main roads are fairly clear from Greenville to Central City. Side roads are a mixture of ice and slush and just a mess and I stayed off them totally. Hope I don't have to get back out. Wal-Mart was a packed house. Most people just standing around talking, guess they were going stir crazy. Supposed to get more snow and ice tonight.

As Nylene said, SO glad I don't have that long drive in the winter!!!!

Gosh Hello Everyone!
So much going on and since its a balmy 4 degrees here it made me start thinking of what kept me warm. You all!! At least in my heart. I have missed you and have good intentions of trying to get back to scrapping and creating. It's been a tuff year for me. Working on the marriage and my Dads death. Things are getting better though.
KIM...so wonderful to see you my dear. You look FAB!!!
THERESA...are you gonna be a grandma?? I sure hope so cause it has made me whole again in so many ways. I wish I could see him more but we do facetime and I use my finger and make a pop noise so he knows which grandma it is....since other grandma lives right there. Anyway just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and let you know that I'm thinking of you. Wanda

Wanda, what a wonderful surprise to wake up and see your smiling face on the screen! Glad things are getting calmer for you there. We do think of you and hope you'll come back and visit. Yes, Jeremy and Kate are going to have a girl, due Jan. 24 but I'm thinking she'll go the a bit earlier.

Think Greenville ended up in a pocket of good air again mercifully. We did get freezing rain and everything is covered in solid ice this morning but we got a little bit of snow first so that helped. Looks like we're still in for some more for a couple of hours but we didn't get nearly as much as we were worried about. Looks like Jeremy may get a lot though. He's off work til Tuesday so hopefully it'll be gone before he or Kate have to leave the house.

I read on FB that Kim's conference did not get cancelled so she was traveling in this mess this morning in VA.

Hope anyone that has the Winter storm in their area or coming keeps their power and stays safe.

Hey, girls -

Stopping by to say hi and hope everyone is staying warm and safe.
So far, we have had nothing but a lot of rain, and expect that to
continue...yuck.

Have a great Sunday. I'm off to work.

HEY WANDA so happy to see you. Hope you can drop by more regularly. We miss you.

TONI you're busy as usual. Do you ever just rest?

THERESA snow and ice sounds downright debilitating...at least it would be here since the city shuts down with less than an inch of snow...LOL We've had none but it is very cold for us...in single digits or low teens in the night and not getting over freezing in the day. Not our usual PNW weather. But the upside, if you can stay bundled up enough to stay warm, is that it is very pretty...and dry.

Still battling the pneumonia. I think it has decided to become a permanent guest. Not so happy about that. But I still crackle when I breath and it still hurts to breath too deeply. I hope I don't have to wait til spring for this to go away. Argh.

Hoping to do (with the help of my somewhat reluctant boys) to decorate today. We'll see how far we get. SO far they are still sleeping. LOL

Have a good day.

Just had to send a big Hello to Wanda. You have no idea how much you are missed. I think our grand babies were born very close together. Come by often to chat even if you aren't getting time to scrap.

Stayed home from Church today and will see the dr. Tomorrow. I'm not as patient with sickness as Debi. I want this gone.

Nylene, glad you're going to the doctor. Don't let your body convince you in the morning that you don't need to go to see him.

I've been watching Christmas movies and playing with the Silhouette all day. Made several cards, I'll get them uploaded after the people receive them. Randy watched a couple of the Christmas movies with me along with a lot of golf. Pretty much a lazy day. I did go out and scrape all the ice off the cars. Still 1-1/2 inches on the Prius AFTER some melted. Randy went out and got us a pizza for supper and he said the roads were fine then but they're predicting freezing fog tonight and all schools in the area are closed for tomorrow too because they say the roads will be solid ice until mid morning. Looks like another day to stay home tomorrow for me.

Just watched the new Mentalist, like the way they're going with it. Headed to bed soon. Have a great night all.

Oh NYLENE you have it all wrong...I am NOT PATIENT with being sick. I hate it, but then I can't do much about it...so have to make do. I hope you chase away your illness quickly. Give it the mean, teacher face...

I don't think I'll be able to move tomorrow. Had the kids bring all the Christmas boxes up (we have about 20); put up the tree, the tree lights, most of the ornaments, the snowmen collection on my mantle, did some laundry, made brownies, chicken curry, chicken vegetable soup and teriyaki chicken, cleaned a corner of the basement and a corner of the guess room. I have tugged, pushed, lifted, carried and shoved way more stuff than I should have and my body is screaming. Hope it won't turn on me tomorrow. Still have lots to do to get ready but at least now it seems doable.

Also managed to get the kids to finish their homework in there. And now I'm hiding in my room as the kids have all the lights out in the house and have tiny flashlights attached to nerf guns and are playing spy and ambushing each other...LOL oh well, they needed some time to play and I'm happy they are playing together. Now I hope they follow through and collect all those nerf bullets when they are done.

I think I will turn on my heated throw and watch some Netflix and relax...maybe it's time to take some more ibuprofen too.

Hoping for an update from Nylene soon.

Hope everyone else is having a great healthy day!

Randy went back to work. I've been busy being creative. I made ornaments for the favorite nephews this morning with my Silhouette

For Austin--KISS

For Jackson--Doctor Who

I also made a gold one that says "For Unto Us A Child Is Born" for my sweet neighbor but I can't get it to photograph due to the reflection.

I stuffed the boy's ornaments with gold glittered tulle and I swear I have glitter everywhere!
