Hello, pea friends!

I appreciate your being concerned about me. I got into the Dr. this a.m. and he loaded me up with RX's and sent me home to bed. I see more lying around in my afternoon. I'm just exhausted and only went to the Dr. and the pharmacy!

Theresa, I love your ornaments you made for the boys. How do you get the vinyl to go so smoothly on the round surface? We do glass etching each year with the cubs and I have a hard time getting the vinyl to go around glasses.

Debi, I hope you can still move today. That's a lot of work. I haven't even put a wreath on my front door yet. Don't even want to think about it right now. Christmas deco may be minimal at my house this year.

Waving to all. I'll chat more later.

Good afternoon my sweet pea friends! The cold and snow have finally hit the wonderful Great Lakes State. I think we got a lot more than they originally thought and now the wind is starting to pick up. I actually managed to get my Christmas decorations up last night. I put the tree up while Joelle was taking her nap and you should have seen her face when she came down stairs wish I would have thought to take a picture. I have a busy week this week, I have 2 finals on Thursday, orientation at WMU on Friday and Joelle's birthday party on Saturday. I hate how busy this time of year gets. I still haven't finished my Christmas cards

Nylene- hope that you get to feeling better real soon. My Grandparents hardly decorate for Christmas anymore, I just got to much for them. You do so many cool projects with your cubs, they need more great leaders in those types of organizations.

Theresa- Sounds like you have had one heck of a mess down there. Glad that Randy was able to get meds and start feeling better. I'm surprised I don't have glitter all over my house, Joelle keeps running around the house with 3 of my containers of Stickles, thank goodness she doesn't know how to open them

Debi- Hope you are doing okay this morning. But it is good to see you scrapping again.

Mandy- Hope you had an uneventful weekend at work. I have three new Cricut Cartridges I am impatiently waiting for, I will have to look up that one haven't seen it.

Wanda- So good to see you. I've missed seeing you around. I bet your little DGS is getting so big. Thank goodness for technology, it keeps us all connected.

Waving hello to everyone else, need to go change the laundry and check on the little one.

Nylene, glad you got some meds. Hope they work better for you than Debi's have for her. As for where I got the images for the KISS ornaments, they were included in the font set from dafont.com. I had to also download a cheat sheet (free) in order to know what keys to push for which image because there are so many in the set. My Sure Cuts A Lot will cut any dingbat image on the Silhouette. Now, how I get the image flat, I don't! I've wasted a lot of vinyl trying to get it on correctly. I have learned to use clear contact paper to transfer the image and if I only transfer part of it at a time it will go on smoother.

Jodi, good luck with the finals.

NYLENE commented on Pokey Peas...she's taking some allergy meds and a round of antibiotics to try to kick this bug.

Everyone is getting sick. My brother has been down for several days with strep throat and ended up having to go onto Prednisone to get the swelling down. Why is everything seem so much more difficult to beat now?

I've had a good day and don't feel none worse for wear after yesterday's activities. Hope it doesn't sneak up on me later.

Have a good day

oops not sure how I missed that...LOl

Well did fine today...got some Christmas shopping done (on-line and picked up an order downtown for me and SIL, and received one of my Ebay purchases in the mail today-YAY!). Did some laundry, ran several errands and went to a meeting. I didn't do much after the boys got home though...did scrap a page.

Wow, everyone, I'm sure glad I'm on the summery side of the world! Snow and ice! Yuck! We are in the high 90s at the moment.

Things are very busy here, not only in my life, but as a country. Some businesses are closed in honour of Mandela's passing and this weekend is going to be quite special. It is amazing how everyone here has been affected and is expressing how much he did for our country.

Nickelback tomorrow night Whoohoo!!!! Tonight we have Heinrich's year-end function at Madame Zingara's. It's a restaurant with a circus theme. Spectacular. I haven't been before so I'm looking forward to it. Going to be exhausted by Thursday though.

Wanda! So happy to see you!

Debi and Nylene, hope you are both doing better.

Ok, now you know I am still around, I'm going to duck back into work mode...

Just a quick note from me. I have Cubs coming soon and need to have things ready. We had planned to finish our picture frames and put the boys' photos inside for Christmas. Costco had a malfunction and didn't have them done..not sure they are even processing..so I guess that we will have change plans and do something different. I always take a photo of the Cubs in front of the flag. Moms seem to like that.

I have almost finished my Christmas cards. Now if I can just get some decorations up. I feel somewhat better, but I think every day of antibiotics will help. I'll be back later in the week.

Diana, I did the same thing this morning and didn't have time to retype! So frustrating!

Had an appointment with the GI Specialist this morning. He says he's confident I have Celiac Disease. He took some blood to check for a level and is going to go ahead with a EGD and Colonscopy both next Thursday, go me! He'll go ahead and do biopsy of my stomach even if the lab doesn't show anything because he said sometimes the lab doesn't. So now, I get to research gluten free diets. He did tell me that I'll probably feel much better and may even gain weight because I've probably had the disease my whole life and that's why I can't metabolize food correctly.

My Aunt Ruby is back in the hospital so I left his office and went there. They're going to keep her at least two more night so she can get admitted to a local nursing home for some rehab. My cousin is beating herself up over it but my Aunt couldn't even move her arms or legs well yesterday and she can't continue to live alone. Anyway, because she's sick and now going into a nursing home, Aunt Joyce is sick too. Thinking Joyce may have some undiagnosed Lupus because when she gets more stressed she has a lot more problems with her joints and muscles. So prayers for both would be appreciated.

Randy's still taking his antibiotics but he feels much better. He now is worried about me, LOL. Told him we're both going on a gluten free diet so he may just be more worried about that!

Hey all!

I have today off as a reward for working the weekend, and I am hoping to scrap a little.

THERESA- hopefully your doctor is right and you will feel better. Good news is gluten-free seems to be trendy now, so there are many products. Do you have healthy food markets nearby? like a Mustard Seed or Green Market? they seem to have much of that. I think there are some gluten free pizza places (MARKS PIZZA?), I have a friend with celiac who tells me these things.

Hope you all get better...Randy, Nylene, Debi. We are all healthy here. MY oldest, Holly, had fever-flu all weekend and I had to argue with her to get her to stay home from school Monday. Literally, and all-out fight. She hates missing school! She did stay home one day and she is fine now. She's such a scholarly child. Funny, some people have to fight to get thier kids to GO to school...me, the opposite.

We are supposed to get lots of snow today, lake effect. Hoping it will skip me. I hate snow. I should learn to love it since I live in such a snowy place....but it's so cold!!!

Well, suppose I should get off the computer, and my butt, and start making the most of my day off..but i love the mornings when it's cold out and I am in my pjs drinking coffee and don't have to go anywhere...

I have done a few quick pages and hopefully will post soon.

See ya later!!

Morning all!

Mandy, hurray for a day off. I say stay in your jammies and have a "me day" you deserve one!

No health food stores in my small area but they do have a Fresh Market in Evansville (1-1/4 hr from me). My friend Brittany goes there and buys her groceries because her family is now Gluten free due to her child's illness. It's more expensive for the food but her whole family is healthier since she started the diet. Discussed it with Randy last night and he's not exactly thrilled about it but said if I need it to make me healthy, he'll go along and hopefully get healthy himself in the process.

HAVE to finish my cards today. Randy's taking the church cards tonight. I'm done with the store bought ones, just have to finish the scrappy ones.

We all make adjustments when necessary...if avoiding gluten makes you feel better THERESA then I hope it's an easy adjustment. There are so many new gluten-free products in the stores (even the mainstream stores-walmart, safeway, etc). I'm not celiac but I do have a wheat sensitivity so have to avoid items with wheat. Since I've had issues with it all my life I haven't developed much taste for breads, pastas etc but I know people who have and then have to change, it can be hard. I cheat once in awhile but I usually pay for it. Randy wouldn't have to go completely gluten-free (he can keep his own breads, etc) as there is nothing to say gluten-free is a "better, healthier" way to eat unless you are celiac.

I'm worried my pleurisy is worsening...back sore and sharp pain when I breath deeply again. Guess I need to call the doctor again. I'm starting to believe I will live with pneumonia and pleurisy the rest of my life...ack!

Need to take a hot shower and shake out the cobwebs.

Today was "grandma's closet" theme for spirit week. Owen opted out completely. Noah dressed, let me take his photo, and then changed his clothes...geesh.

got to go do labs today and get the shingles shot. have a good day.

I feel accomplished, got all my cards done (I hope I did anyway). Took the last that needed to be mailed to the post office and the ones to the church so they'd be ready to be picked up when people go tonight.

Saw this on FB from Melanie: "I have been in Sioux Falls with my mom in the hospital since Friday. She had two bypasses. This was a suprise. She is doing well and may even get to go home today. God is good. Greg has been managing at home and I hope to get to him soon and take care of a few things and then see how I'm needed." I'm sure she's exhausted so if you could offer up an extra prayer just for her I know it would be appreciated.

I only made 5 of this one. Randy said I should have started much earlier and made them all like it because it really is cool.

Hello Again!
Don't faint!! Ha Ha
Many that know me will not find this news earth shattering. We again are without water and going on 5 days. Broken pipe and frozen well. But I have a system....hose through window to soaking tub to pitcher to pan to stove boil and use. Still alive so guess it's ok. Maybe by Saturday we will be up and running I hope.

I so appreciate all your love and wonderful comments gals. I have missed you all so much and want to get back to it.

Nylene I'm like you...fix me I have to much to do to be sick. Sure hope your feeling much better now. Thought about you as I went through Utah with my brother the end of October! Spent a week with him after he did some construction work for me. It was so nice. Since Dad has passed it seems we are all much closer. Still wish I had a sister though (ha ha).

Debi hope your feeling better as well. Gotta love those nerf things!
Hey Jodi good to see you and thanks for the welcome back!

I plan on getting going soon. House is all decorated and I must say it looks gorgeous! I have three trees. I did a tree in the kitchen with my moms spoons on them and I so enjoyed looking at each one as I placed it on the tree thinking of how much fun she had in each place and so much better then having them in a rack somewhere. Then my Owl tree got an update this year with more critters underneath! Even got deer that blink and move in the yard. Life is good!

You all have a great day today and will be back! That's a threat!

Wanda, bummer about the frozen pipes and no water. Spoons on a kitchen tree sounds like a great idea. I started collecting them in the 70's and had them in one of those little hanging things until this past year when I redid the kitchen. Not sure where I'd put a bigger than table top tree in my tiny kitchen but I'll remember that when Randy wins his lottery. Your book is gorgeous! You should publish it and make it available for purchase!

WANDA your whale book is beautiful. I can't imagine having the opportunity to have experienced so much time in their presence and you captured it beautifully. TFS.

The sunrise this morning was gorgeous. Bright red, then orange, then yellow...awe inspiring yet I didn't have a camera close at hand so I just watched it change instead and appreciated the moment.

Feeling a bit better today. Not sure if the headache I had yesterday was a side effect of the shingles shot (said it could be) but it was a doozey and didn't go away til well after midnight.

Hope to be a bit more productive today.

For those who celebrate Christmas, Have you gotten your gift shopping done? I am nearly done but I have the arduous task of wrapping still ahead. Maybe I'll do that this weekend while the boys are at their dad's.

Their dad's house was burglarized last Friday...taking all the boys' Xbox 360 games (they didn't touch the wii games), some CDS and some jewelry ... broke a kitchen window and left through the sliding glass door. The boys are devastated: I suspect the games won't get replaced. I've been burglarized 3x at this house, so I know how awful it can be. At least they didn't have any Christmas gifts around to take. I suspect it was kids. They don't live in the nicest neighborhood.

Makes me leery of putting out gifts under the tree...which I usually don't until Christmas eve. Perhaps having a disorganized house is to my advantage...much harder to find stuff on the fly if you're up to no good. Maybe I shouldn't get rid of all this clutter. LOL

That said, I'm off to finish decorating today.

Have a good day

Debi, if you don't mind me asking, how much did the shingles shot cost? I am thinking about getting it.

Did a Kamikaze run to Evansville. Picked up a couple of items at Kohls and then spent a whopping 20 minutes in SAM's before we had to leave. Didn't get to go anywhere near the Fresh Market. Randy had to be home by 6 and we didn't even get there til after 1. If I'd realized we were going to have to fly I'd have went by myself yesterday. Of well, got my cards done yesterday and didn't by any impulse items today. Guess it's all good.

May not hear from the Pediatrician's office this week after all. One of their employees was killed in an auto accident this morning. They're all grieving. 66 year old woman, loved by all. Thinking it was black ice. Terrible.

Watching Elementary then headed to bed.

I'm still half asleep this morning, even though it's after 11 already. I'm certainly no teenager anymore. We used to be able to go pout every night and still do a full day. Ha! No more. Two nights getting home after midnight and I'm knackered.

Nickelback was awesome! One of the best concerts we've been to. They have a great stage personality and really connected with the audience.

My 2peas order is lying at the post office but I can't get there to collect. I finish work at 6 and they are closed by the time I get there. The parcel is too large for home delivery Frustrating - I want my toys!

Wanda - No water for 5 days is a nightmare. It's easier to survive without electricity for that long. Do you have snow as a last resort?

Debi - had to laugh at your son getting dressed up, taking the photo and then changing. Teenagers!

Sean had a sleepover at the neighbours' house last night but came rushing home at 7am, straight to the bathroom and started vomiting. There is a horrible stomach bug doing the rounds, so he probably picked that up. He was sleeping when I phoned a little while ago to hear how he is. Poor baby! At least we are on school holidays, so I didn't have to have the school battle, Mandy.

Morning one and all!

Gosh Theresa and Debi I can't believe you looked at the whole book.
Thanks a bunch. I only had a total of 4 hours out on the water so alot were taken from the lani.(deck). Thanks for the kudos!

Debi glad your feeling a bit better and how terrible for the boys. I can't imagine being violated in that way. Scary and hey if being disorganized keeps em away I'm well on my way for prevention.

Theresa just pick out your favorite spoons and hot glue plastic hangers on back which worked great for me and you would be suprised how many you can put on a tree and its really pretty. I wanted to know if you know what you will be having? Heck I guess I just need to give you a jingle to get the scoop!!!

Nice to see you Mandy!
Hey Michelle...no electricity means no water as well so I'm up a creek either way and I wouldn't touch our snow..to many critters! (heeHee). Great to see you.

Nylene..I have a photo of my brother in Cubs by the flag and I treasure it. I'm slowly trying to make a book with my Mom and Dad and all three of us. Then gonna give copies to my brothers. I have alot of photos of my mom from when she was young and all her photos of us kids. My brothers and their significant others would not do anything with them so I guess I'm the desiginated historian. Forgive my spelling. Hope your feeling better.

Debi I was searching 2 peas and can't seem to find any digital kits for baby boys. Could you help me? Maybe I'm not looking in the right place but I would think they have at least a few?? Thanks

Well guess I'll boil some water and start the dishes. 6 days no water but maybe tonight (everything crossed). Take care and have a wonderful day!

WANDA while you were taking a sabbatical from 2peas they up and decided to end their support (product line, designers, shop) for digital scrappers. They no longer carry kits for digi...but there are many other sites that do. For instance: Pixels and company, ScrapGirls, Designer Digitals, Jessica Sprague, Memory Scraps, Oscraps, Scrap Matters, The Digichick....to name a few. Surely you can find a baby boy kit on one of those sites.

My son, Noah is still struggling with grades (school in general) and hasn't quite grasped the concept that you can't learn everything you need to know the night before the exam...he came wanting help (which is good) but had so much stuff to go over in Japanese and Algebra2 that I hadn't seen before so I had to do lots of reviewing and looking stuff up myself to try to help. I feel for him, but he's got to start breaking stuff down into doable bits and reviewing. Time to work on study skills. I just hope it's not too late.

The weather has warmed up to mid30's accompanied by rain. I think I prefer the dry, really cold days to the wet ones. It actually feels colder to me when it's wet.

Got more decorating done, although not completely as I spent the evening reviewing schoolwork...LOL. Oh well, I don't mind.

Doing laundry now, need to go grocery shopping soon (out of everything). Getting my hair cut on Monday (trying to decide if I want to keep it shoulder length or go shorter). I like both looks.

MICHELLE sorry you have a sick kid at home, but glad you had fun going out even if you are tired now. It's amazing what we could do when we were younger that seems much harder now.

THERESA maybe not having too much time to shop is a good thing...LOL

Have a great day.

Happy birthday Melanie!

Wanda, sorry I missed your call. My stomach issues kept me up til after 1 a.m. this morning, just had to eat the chicken alfredo yesterday so I paid for it, and I slept in. Have a horrendously busy day today. I'll call you tomorrow. It'll be cheaper then too so I can talk longer.

Michelle, saw photos on FB of your concert, glad you had a good time. Totally agree with the not being able to stay out late anymore! Of course, I've got quite a few years on you. Hope your son feels better and doesn't share the illness with the rest of you. We have three or four different viruses going around the county and I'm trying to stay clear of all of them.

Debi, good luck with the decorating and with the getting DS to study harder. Of the two choice, think the decorating will be much easier!

Pretty much all the time I have so waving hi to everyone else.

Hello everyone!

It seems as if things have been busy and COLD for everyone. It's been cold here too and we have a couple inches of snow on the ground with lots more predicted for tomorrow. Of course Mark and I had planned to have our Christmas Party this Saturday. We've had to postpone it until NEXT Saturday and I just hope that we don't have another storm then! We've already bought the food, we MUST have the party!

Michelle, I am so sorry about your uncle. Loss is never easy.

Nylene, I hope you are feeling better and can get some decorating done.

Theresa, you sure do have a lot going on in your life. I hope that going on a gluten-free diet isn't too difficult. The ornaments and cards you made are wonderful!

Debi, what a shame about the robbery. I'm glad you've been able to do some work around the house without feeling TOO bad the next day. Keep taking care of yourself as best you can.

Wanda, I LOVED the humback whale book. What an exciting excursion that must have been! I've been whale watching many times but I've never seen anything like that. The photos are gorgeous! Also, I feel for you, doing without water. We have a shallow well and it causes frequent difficulties. We once were without water for a MONTH. We should have a new well put in but in order for them to get their big equipment through our yard they would have to cut down several trees and we just HATE the thought of doing that, so we live with our lousy well.

Melanie, I'm glad your mom did OK through the surgery. Hopefully she will feel much better once she's recovered. Mark and I traveled through S. Dakota a couple years ago, to Mt. Rushmore and Devil's Tower. The Black Hills are the most gorgeous place I've ever seen and I have thought a lot about moving out that way someday. What is it like living out there? (I'm from New England.)

Since we were planning to have our party tomorrow (today, I guess!), our house is all decorated. The tree looks very nice. I just WISH we had a fireplace, that would make everything perfect!

Gypsy (our new dog) doesn't seem to think much of the tree, she didn't pay much attention to it when we brought it in. I think that this might be the first snow she's ever seen, since she came from Georgia. She doesn't seem to take much notice. What she does notice is the lack of exercise she's been getting - it's been FAR too cold to take her to the dog park! We have been trying to play with her in the house as much as possible and today she got to run with a friend for awhile - that will have to do for now!

I went to a crop tonight and got 2 pages of my pet album done. I LOVE going to crops so much, I wish I could go to one every week!

My Christmas cards have all been sent but I've still got shopping and wrapping to do. I love doing it!

I guess that's enough for now. I hope everyone has a good weekend! Cathy

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I really appreciate all the prayers and good thoughts for my mom. She is doing really well and Dad is having trouble "holding her down" he says. I will be going there again soon to help with a few things. She goes back to see the surgeon before Christmas.

Cathy, I actually live in the central "wide open spaces" part of the state. From my house window I can see a butte that is 20 miles away and on the fourth of July we can see from our deck the local fireworks as well as the ones 20 miles north of us! Yes, the Black Hills is beautiful. We get out there a few times a year. You are welcome to move here! It is a great place to live.

Wanda! Nice to see you. Took a peak at your whale book. What an experience.

A Merry Christmas to you all. Enjoy your time with family and friends.

Yesterday was a whirlwind!

I didn't get home from my Friday night crop til after midnight even though I had planned to--one woman didn't want to leave when everyone else did, of course, she's the same one that was over an hour late getting there and didn't even get her scrappy stuff out until 9:30. We had to be in Owensboro by 8:30, which meant we had to leave here a little after 7, to go to the movies with Paula. (The hospital rents out the theater for employees and they can bring 3 family members, Randy, Diane and I were Paula's family for the day.) Saw the Hobbit (almost 3 hours but much better than the first one) and then went to lunch.

By the time we came in, grabbed an hour nap and had to leave again for church for the Cantata. Randy was super nervous and wanted to get there early. I videoed his song if you want to hear it (warning, not great at holding the phone still some places, LOL, and I haven't published this anywhere just showing it to friends. He wants me to redo it tonight because he says his voice was too cracky from nerves (it will be tonight too). So here's his song, he's in the middle-- Randy's song LINK. After the performance we went out to eat with Trish and Jackson.

I'm pooped this morning. Have church, need to go see both aunts and then another performance tonight. I'll rest tomorrow!

Good Morning Sweet Peas!!!

Happy Monday! I hope that all of you fine ladies are doing well. I have been super busy, as usual. Since it's the holidays, I've had to go to a bunch of events after work and on Saturday. I love that people are generous about helping us get Christmas goodies for our clients, it just makes for a busy calendar when they all want me to come personally to accept the gifts. We are assembling Christmas gifts and food for over 600 children this year, so it's been a bit of an undertaking.

I am seriously behind on my Christmas shopping...which is also not a shocker. I have most of my kids and Ron's done, I just need to take care of some of the extended family members. I'm hoping to do some clicking this morning and get my sister & her family's stuff sent off from Amazon.

Wanda - I was shocked to see your sweet face on here when I opened up the thread. Hi there sweet lady!!! I hope you get that water issue fixed soon, I would not be good at the "frontier" life that you have going on right now. Love that sweet photo in your siggy line...it is truly fabulous!

Theresa - Thank you for the very pretty card that you sent...loved it! As usual, I'm slacking and haven't gotten ours sent out.

Well, I need to get Griffin moving this morning. Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Tina

NYLENE I was channeling you this weekend when walking with my mom I tripped on the edge of a curb and went down onto the cement like a plank. I kept thinking as I was falling (since I couldn't catch my balance) to keep my hands in so I wouldn't break my wrists. I banged up my elbows and my left knee pretty good, wrenched my back and neck and needed someone to help me get up (Thank you to the kind man walking by) and managed to lose my glasses. But no broken bones *YAY* Have to admit I've been darn sore and stiff the last couple of days though. I soldiered through and finished my decorating yesterday and forcing myself to keep moving actually limbered me up. SO may have to repeat the exercise today as I can barely move. Hot shower here I come.

I am going to get my hair cut today. My treat for myself.

I made good progress on the house yesterday, besides decorating, managed to clean the kitchen thoroughly, scrubbed the floor, cleaned out the fridge, and got rid of all the stuff that keeps landing on the counters than don't belong there. Also cleaned the bathroom, the boys' room, the living room. Today's challenge will be to finish clearing off the stacks of paperwork on the dining room table, a quick vacuum and I think I'll be almost done.

Then there is my bedroom...the place where all things without a home seem to land. It'll take some time but my goal is to get it cleaned too soon.

So I'm off to limber up. Hope you have a great day.

Happy Monday All.

Debi, glad you didn't have worse news with your "trip" because it sounds like a doozy!

My weekend caught up with me during the night I guess because I slept til after 8:30. You'd think I have lots of energy but I'm dragging. I have been a little busy this morning and have almost all the gifts wrapped while I was chatting with Wanda on the phone today (such a treat) and the laundry started but that's about it. Need to make three more gifts and I think I'm done with presents.

Tina, wow, that is awesome that you can help so many kids. Around here there are quite a few that need help too but you can't figure out who is really in need and who is faking it to get more stuff so it's frustrating. The Angel Tree at Wal-Mart is still mostly full of names and I'm sure it's because when you look at the gifts the kids are asking for they are very expensive. Some asked for PS4's! I'm sure it's hard for you guys to figure out stuff like that too.

Okay, best get me some lunch it's almost 1 p.m.

Seems like I just read and run lately. I'm sorry, I am trying to keep up with everything. I am feeling quite a bit better, but I know the dust and sawdust (from Steve's workshop downstairs) on all the Christmas deco. boxes are not helping the breathing and allergies. Hopefully everything will be up and boxes put away tomorrow.

Sat. night we had a big Honorary 100th Birthday for my dad. He didn't quite make it to 100, (passed away 2 years ago) but we had all the grands and great-grands invited. I think we served 75 people. My sis made a 3 ft. high time line with photos of the family, and events of the world every year since his birth in 1913. It hung on the wall all the way around the church hall. We told stories about dad and my sis had arranged all kinds of "grandpa" kind of games for the children. It
was a great evening together. Because of a messy divorce of one of my siblings, family events are often stressful. Some kids siding with the mom and some the dad, and they don't mix. But there were nieces and nephews I haven't seen at any family gathering since the divorce. It was really nice. My sister did a fabulous job planning it.

Melanie, so glad your mom is doing well. Continued prayers for her and your and DH.

Debi, I'm so sorry about your robbery. What a sad time to lose things the boys prize. Hope you are doing some better each day. Sorry about your fall. I have empathy!! Glad you didn't break anything.

Theresa, how are your Aunts doing now? I loved listening to Randy sing. Who knew? Tell him I'm proud of him and his contribution to the trio.

Wanda, I hope you keep dropping in and hope your water situation is over soon. I'm not a "roughin' it" kinda woman. I admire your strength!
Beautiful whale book, by the way. What a special trip for you. How's Linda?

Diana, missing you. Hug your girls for me. Ashley and Alyssa were looking through the WDW scrapbook and came to photos of your girls. They remembered that they made paper at one of the stations. Fun!

Waving hello to all the Chatty Scrappers. I'll try to be on here a little more often after the holidays. Hugs!

WANDA glad you have water again. Can't imagine being without so long. You are a trooper.

Love the idea of a video to share your holiday decorations. I don't get many visitors any more either, so sometimes it seems silly to spend so much time decorating, but I do like it. It is very festive.

NYLENE burglaries are never enjoyable. Fortunately it wasn't MY house this time, but the boys did lose all their XBOX games at their dad's. Hoping they buy the new XBOX one system for the kids and add a couple new games (But that may be like hoping for world peace overnight; the ex isn't into spending money on the kids (just he and his newest wife) as he justifies it by saying they aren't there enough to warrant it. Sad perspective for a father to take IMO but it is what it is. He has the money but not the inclination to spend it on the kids, and I have the inclination (desire) but not the money. Oh well, between us they do ok.

THERESA love your Christmas card. Thanks for thinking of me.

NYLENE I'm glad my fall wasn't any worse as well, especially after your ordeal from your fall. I hit hard enough on that stupid cement, I could have done some fine damage, but fortunately I only ended up with scraps and bruises and sore muscles. I'd prefer not to take too many trips like that though.

Countdown to Christmas is on. My kids leave for the week of Christmas with their dad Friday...it's going to seem so quiet without them over the holidays, especially since it will be just my mom, brother and SIL at Christmas. My mom bought me a tv which I have to pick up on Sunday. My brother and SIL and I don't exchange gifts with each other any more and without the boys opening gifts it's going to seem different. Mom will have gifts to open. I miss having little kids at Christmas time.

I'm hoping to have a friend come over next week and help me dismantle the boys' bunk beds into 2 separate twin beds. I think they'll like it better to not have to climb up to bed, but it will take up nearly all their floor space in their room to do so. I bought new bedding for Christmas so I think it will look awesome, but it means moving stuff around AGAIN.

I need to get busy.
Debi

Happy Tuesday all. Got up and got busy this morning making this for Kate:

Baby print (link)

I think she'll like it. Since the nursery walls are both gray and lilac (some one color, some the other) I went with black letters with the exception of the banner which is actually lilac not pink like it looks.

Had to get out and go pay house taxes (yuck) and take out the trash. Picked up pizza for an early dinner. Austin is in a program tonight so I'm dragging Randy with me and we needed to eat earlier to make the show.

Debi, I certainly hope that since the boys are going to be with their Dad on Christmas they will have presents!!! Redoing their room will be a nice gift, think they'll love it.

Back from Austin's choir program, it was awesome! The 4th grade just sang songs but the 5th grade put on a play. Randy didn't want to go but said he was really glad I talked him into it because it was awesome. The kids put a lot of work into it and it showed. Lots of talent in this county!

Gave Austin his Kiss ornament, to say he loved it would be an understatement.

Did not get to go check on my Aunt Ruby today. The nursing home has a nasty stomach virus and they're limiting visitors. My cousin said that she ended up with a lady that she knew as a roommate so that will help. Have the DISH people coming tomorrow to replace a box so I won't be able to go check on her til after he leaves.

My brother got the results of his biopsy today, no cancer. Whoo hoo.

Watching a bit of TV then going to bed. I stay exhausted. Think it's the gluten causing that too. Guess I'll find out after my own biopsies are done Thursday.

Instead of doing the many things that need to be done around here, I sat and scrapped a while. Made me feel better. It really is a stress-buster for me.
Theresa, hooray for your brother's test results. Hope both Aunts are doing well. Good luck to you on Thursday.

Fiddle I fell asleep at 8 and here I'am now. Was pretty tired.

Debi...redoing the room will be awesome for them and I know they'll love it! I understand how weird it will be, so will be thinking of you but at least your not alone, like a few of my friends but I sure no what you mean about having kids and little ones around. I'm spoiled this year because I get Cole and Mom and Dad but sure wish my son and his girl could come but he works for Fed-X so forget that for awhile.

Nylene I know what you mean about Stress buster, if I could just get to that point so I could bust the stress would be nice. Digital is okay but there is something about paper!

Theresa...glad to hear the good news and I bet the program was very good, I always enjoy those kind of things.

Guess I'll see if I can fall back asleep. Have a great day everyone.

Well we didn't win the big lottery and Randy went to work so we must not have won 5 numbers for the one million either. Guess we won't have a big reunion for my imaginary friends anytime soon!

Have DISH coming sometime this afternoon to replace a receiver that is outdated (one of the first ones they made, they're amazed it's still working) so that means massive cleaning. First I have to at least straighten the house to make it presentable but the major stuff is getting stuff out of my scrap area so the guy can get to the receiver! And yes, here I sit at the computer. LOL, actually I'm taking a break to let my lungs return after finding a massive dust explosion in my bedroom. (Not sure he won't have to go in there for the other receiver that we don't use much.)

Wanda, hope you get a nap today!

Wanda, I hope you got a little more sleep. Alex was born really close to Cole's birth, I believe. He was born Oct.2,2013. He's going to be such a handful near the tree and village this year.

Theresa, as they read the numbers last night I told DH I hoped they matched your numbers so we could have a big Scrappy Retreat. Sorry...no such luck, huh? You get after that Randy to pick better numbers. Lotteries are illegal in Utah, so I'm depending on you. Hope you get your Dish all set up and that you survive the dust bunnies. I have so many of those...no wonder my allergies are acting up.

Hugs to all the Chatty Scrappers. I will return.

THERESA don't you worry, the boys will receive gifts on Christmas from their dad and his newest wife, the grandparents (ex's dad and newest wife) and maybe from their cousins. They usually get something (often money or gift cards from the newest wife's family-but they have to use it there). They won't go present less; it just probably won't be the big ticket items they have on their wishlist. Both boys really want an Ipod Touch but it is out of my price range (especially for 2); and they'd practically die for the new XBOX One system, but I can't see paying $500 for a gaming system when we already have a fortune invested in the XBOX 360. It was so much easier when they were younger and the gifts they wanted cost so much less.

YAY on the NO CANCER diagnosis.

NYLENE sometimes we just need to sit and create instead of being caught up in the to do list of the day. I did similarly yesterday; worked on my Christmas letter and card instead of clearing the dining room. Oh well.I had energy yesterday but squandered it by sitting and doing my card and letter for Christmas, and now today I'm coughing and have no energy with so much to do. Oh well. Have to jump in the shower, clear out the lungs as best as I can, and hit the TO DO list with vengeance.

WANDA so happy you're becoming a regular member again. So Linda sold her house as planned? Did she buy/rent a new place in the same town? I know she was seeing someone in Seattle awhile back but don't know if that materialized into anything more permanent. Wishing you and her the best. It will be so fun to have the grandbaby at Christmas.

I need to make something for tomorrow night's band concert bake sale, take the boys photo tonight to add to the front of our card, finish with some necessary paperwork, pay my light bill, design some Kanji flash cards for Noah, and finis cleaning off the dining room table and move all errant paperwork out of the dining room (probably to my bedroom, so I need to make a space)...always stuff to do, huh?

And though I ate breakfast at 7, I'm hungry again at 10:30 so I just may have to eat too.

Have a very productive day and I will too.

hey girls -

sorry I only stop by on occasion...it really has been tough this year.

Anyway, I have a lot of time off next week from Joanns, and I can't tell you how happy I am about that Of course since I've gotten absolutely nothing done for Christmas this year, I will be spending a lot of it trying to get things done for Christmas. Luckily Meagan, Brian and Larry have been doing most of the decorating, etc. I really have been putting in almost 40 hours at Joanns every week for the past couple of months, plus school, so it really was like working two full time jobs...it's been rough, like I said.

We also went through some refinancing on the house. It took us a couple of months, and with only my work for proof of income, it was
touch and go. Although it's not a huge savings for us, it's something,
which is better than nothing. But that was weighing very heavily on my mind lately.

But anyway, enough about me. I'm glad to see Miss Wanda checking in...so happy to see your smiling face, girl and except for those
frozen pipes, it sounds like all is well...although I have to admit I don't get to read everything.

Theresa - thank you for your sweet card. I feel so guilty as I have not sent out any cards this year...and last year I sent out very few, if any, because I really don't remember

Anyway, I just got home from JoAnns a little bit ago, and I want to get together a couple of the co-workers gifts, so I'll have to check back at another time...hopefully next week.

Take care all.

HOLY MOLY, is that Wanda I see??

Sorry for my scarcity again, I didn't disappear for good, I just have had a crazy 10-11 days. I think the last I posted I was heading to a conference in Roanoke. The weather was nasty but we arrived and returned safely (obviously). I had a totally time not only at the conference but on the nights as well with my super travel companions/colleagues! Since I've been home, I've been absolutely swamped with work and home and holiday stuff.

I need to read back and catch up on what I've missed.

It's so nice to see some of the " old originals" that were on this thread when I was invited in 2008. Just to touch base with you all makes my day!!

I'm hoping for a less hectic "rest of the week". Our Wedding Anniversary is on Friday and we are planning a trip but not til end of January. We have been married 46 years but I've been in love with this great man since I was 14. We grew up together and knew each other's families for years. Can't believe it's been that long.

I'm off to find some Christmas stuff, so I'll check in again later. Love all you guys!

Special hugs for Toni!

Done with my tests. No celiac in the blood work. Some diverticulitis. Took biopsies says it may still show there. Lower GI he found one polyp he is worried about. Took biopsies. Said it was precancerous he's sure. He removed as much as he could but it was close to the wall. Have to repeat the colonoscopy in a year. Also wants me to decrease wheat but don't have to totally do without.
