Yes to smoking, snorting and drinking. All different kinds of things.

No regrets. It's how I chose to live at a time when either I didn't know better or knew better and didn't care.

The only regrets I do have are driving drunk. It was stupid and I'm very fortunate I never hurt myself or anyone else.

This, except the drugs I tried werenot of the snorting variety.

I have never tried an illegal drug or used a legal one in an incorrect way. I tried a cigarette once or twice in my teens and both times one puff was too much for me.

I do drink on occasion but it's rare. Probably 3-4 times a year at most. I've been drunk maybe 2-3 times in my teens/early twenties and even then while I wasn't safe to drive, it wasn't enough for me to have a hangover or anything.

Just not my thing.

I'll go with what Peabay said and give her huge props for being the first on the thread to admit in this judgmental, holier than thou group of women.

Yes, of course we're judgmental and holier than thou because we've never done illegal drugs or whatever. That's a totally rational conclusion to make.

This thread aside, my observations are on way more than drug use or lack thereof.

Smoked pot a bit my last year in college.

Thought seriously of doing LSD, even observed my friends, but never did it.

Well, I'm not judging, nor am I holier than thou.....but I've never smoked anything or used illegal drugs. I do enjoy an occasional alcoholic beverage, though one is about all I can tolerate!

I am a child of the 60's...oh, the lights...the lights.

I am also like Peabay, dabbled in marijuanah college age and I did try snorting much later in life.

Never got into either. I too, probably DID drive when I shouldn't have. Times are different now.

Smoked pot now and then in high school and college. It made me feel paranoid and forgetful, so it wasn't something I was ever tempted to do on a long-term basis. I was afraid to do anything else in the illegal drugs category, but a lot of my friends did, and I remember feeling like a wimp about not trying other things.

I'm too much of a control freak That and I'm a big "rules-follower," so not big on the illegal stuff. Maybe a product of the Reagan-era anti-drug curriculum in the schools that scared the crap out of my.

I'm 42. I've been drunk less than 10 times in my life. Just never been worth the trouble/expense, I guess. I was drunk last night!

I went to a so-called "stoner college" and the pot came around twice and I (seriously!!) didn't inhale.

However, I once smoked hashish and made out with my female dorm-mate -- that's my one "crazy thing I did in college."

My family thinks I am conservative. ( which I am not, just OLD)

Embrace your history. I scraped my fake ID from when I was 20. My son had one in college, He did not know about mine. When I did my genealogy I found many, many imperfect women in my life who were the sole breadwinner, daughters of suicide, or alcoholism.

Actually... no. No drugs, no cigarettes ever. I was never tempted and I had opportunities. So true to my squeaky clean super boring persona--nope.

I also don't drink. At all. Ever. Just not something I want. I don't mind that others do responsibly. It's just not for me. (Even on Passover, when I lead a seder, I do so with grape juice like all the kids at the table have.) Super hard core tee-totaler.

No drugs, no smoking of anything. I started drinking at parties in college but haven't had an alcoholic beverage since I got pregnant in 2002 (11 years ago).

LOL...how many of you have popped a xanax with your glass of chardonnay after a long day just to "take the edge off". I know we have a few of those here.

I have smoked cigarettes, cloves and pot. I have been puking in the restroom drunk more than once.

I have never tried any other types of drugs so those that say pot is a gateway drug are ridiculous.

No, I've never tried drugs of any kind, and honestly have no clue what pot even smells like.

I quite deliberately drink at least once a year so that I can say I drink and others feel at ease to drink in my presence. One of the downsides of being a conservative evangelical is that often other people from my part of the country assume you're going to be offended if they drink. If I say that I have an occasional margarita, it puts people right at ease.

Once I decided to start doing that, one of my husband's buddies was so happy. He and my hubby always imbibe together, and I was the only one of the group that didn't. We only get up to that part of the country once or twice a year, and when we would visit, he had the tequila handy, lol.

I drink when I feel like it. Usually as many drinks as I want as often as I want. I've been high in a variety of ways, some better than others.

My dear sweet husband is a bit more innocent. He's never smoked cigarettes or anything else and didn't drink for a whole lot of years. Now he'll have a beer while watching the game but not more than one.

No Trulady, I'm on the bench right next to you. I'm a little bit older than you (only a little, lol) and I've been drunk, in fact I don't drink at all and have had only about 6 alcoholic drinks in my life, the last being about 30 years ago.

I've never tried drugs of any sort either, don't even know what pot looks like. I've been told it looks like a tomato plant.

Actually I tell a lie. I tried a (regular) cigarette when I was about 16. I got half way through it, it tasted terrible, I threw it away and have never touched one since. I can't understand why people try cigs, don't like it, but keep doing it until they're hooked. Why persevere if you don't like it? Is it just to be part of the crowd?

All my friends either smoked (reg and\or weed) and drank (socially) but it just doesn't interest me and they never tried to push me into it.

I tried acid twice. I believe that MTV back then was made for people who were tripping. It all made so much more sense. The second time I did it a friend cut her foot and the blood messed with my mind. A mailbox tried to chase and eat me and I swore I was a Milk Dud with wings. Luckily the set of stairs I tried to "fly" down was only 6 or 7.

I've never done acid but swear that is what vicadon does to me. I asked my doctor and dentist to never give it to me after having it for a root canal and I think my cataract surgery.

I've smoked pot, taken a leftover pain killer long after I've needed the prescription and I always have a case or two of wine as well as other liquor and beer stocked in my home. I don't binge drink but I definitely enjoy a glass or two of wine in the evening.

My husband has never tried any type of drugs. He also doesn't drink although he has in a social setting. He claims that he's never been drunk. I know he hasn't since we've been together (he's had maybe 2 beers in all of the 20 yrs we've been together) but I can't swear that he never was before. He has never smoked either.

I can't say the same thing for myself. I haven't done any of that (including alcohol) for about 19 yrs though. I haven't had a drink since before I was pg with my oldest, who just turned 18. It's been longer for the other stuff.

I'm 38. Never smoked. No desire to after watching the side effects of smoking. My dad was a smoker.

Never tried any type of illegal drugs. The idea of losing control of my body wasn't appealing to me.

Never been drunk. Again, losing control of my body wasn't appealing to me.

I haven't had an alcoholic beverage in over 15 years. I had bad side effects from alcohol. I realize now that it's because I had/have a wheat/gluten allergy.

I'm even hesitant with pain killers. Last year after my hysterectomy was the first time I've taken anything stronger then a Tylenol 3. The Tylenol 3 just wasn't helping much with the pain.

I never had the desire to try a cigaratte. My mom was a two pack a day addict, and growing up around that made cigarettes completely repulsive to me.

I'm not much of a drinker. Even moderate alcohol consumption messes with my blood sugar. The pleasure of getting tipsy isn't worth the displeasure of feeling bad afterwards. So, I limit myself to one drink, rarely two, on occasion.

I do love weed. Small amounts for theraputic/medicinal purposes, and larger amounts for recreational purposes. Being pleasantly high feels so damn good that I consider it as a now-and-then indulgence.

Of all the other illegal drugs, I've only tried a couple and never had any interest in trying the rest. One line of coke, and I felt like a rock star, until I didn't. The high wasn't worth the comedown, and I had no interest in chasing it around in circles. And one lower-dose LSD hit. Not enough to skew reality, but enough to alter perception. It was 75% enjoyable and 25% irritating. An interesting experience, but once was enough for me.

I've been legally prescribed various pills that people abuse and take recreationally. There were always side effects that made me either stop taking them or never have a desire for more after they had served their intended purpose.

I've always looked at things from a cost and benefit perspective. If the price for the pleasure is too high, it's not worth it to me.

Never tried any drugs, never smoked anything. I rarely drink because I don't really like it (wine and beer are nasty - only drink occasional fruity -type drink maybe 4-5 times a year) . Didn't drink even a sip of alcohol before I was 21.

LOL. The guy I dated in grad school before I met DH funded his education in large part by dealing marijuana and ecstacy on campus. Yes, I tried both. Didn't really agree with me.

I also did plenty of drinking in college and grad school. Not as much any more but not for moral reasons - I'm just usually too busy the next morning to have time for a hangover!

My "team" at school is mostly made up of people who are about ten years older than me. They grew up in the 60s and 70s and have lots of "once, when I was high ..." stories to tell.

So should we have lied? I just haven't tried illegal drugs or cigarettes, but there's no "Heavens no!!" about it, just a statement of fact.

Surprisingly I've never done drugs and I had plenty of access to them druing my college years and early 20's. I guess I wasn't that interested in them.

I did smoke like a chimney and was drunk for most of my late teens and 20's. Then I woke up one morning and realized I couldn't hang anymore. It was talking me too long to recover the next day. But I had fun while it lasted.

Other than "second hand smoke" tried cigarettes once in junior high,

Never have done illegal drugs, never abused OTC or prescription drugs.

I like some alcohol in moderation, (wine and some liquors) and never was one for "binge" drinking. Usually I was the designated driver since I have no problems going to parties and NOT drink.

My hubby and I used to get hammered every night I think. This went on are a year before and after we were married. Then the child came along and I did't do anything again. Hubby though continued to drink. I asked him have you noticed anything? And he said I noticed how little you drink and eventually he didn't want to give up drinking and I did. So we broke up and that ended that.

I'm super boring. I never tried anything, but had plenty of chances, just never wanted to. That said, if I were ever diagnosed with cancer and had to do chemo, I would try pot. I hate being sick.

I drink some times. But I have only been drunk once. I don't mind a buzz, but being drunk wasn't fun for me.

Also I have a fear of vomit, so drunk puking people at parties were very hard for me to deal with, so I tried to avoid keggers and what not when I was younger.

I used to smoke and have been falling down, passing out drunk more times than I care to remember. My twenties and early thirties were pretty wild. I had a few puffs of a joint once but didn't think much to it, alcohol was more my drug of choice.
These days I hardly ever drink as vomiting scares the bejeezus out of me.

I would go out tonight but I haven't got a stitch to wear.

I didn't drink until about 4 years ago, so now I'm usually just a social drinker. I have smoked cigarettes, but that's the worst I've ever had. People are always shocked that I've never 'used' or even experimented.

I never knew what 'weed' even looked like until 4 years ago when I was working in the evidence room at the PD lol! I totally understood why it was called weed then. Never used anything, and neither has my mother (including cigarettes) She's lucky if she has a wine cooler once a year at christmas lol! My kids have never touched anything illegal either and I'm so happy I can say that. I hope that doesn't change. DD's boyfriend has also not touched anything. He won't even go near tea or coffee, so can't imagine he'd use anything.

Bottom line, we may be rare, but hey, we're out there right with you.

I've never tried any illegal drugs other than pot. I lived a pretty sheltered life in high school, and I went to a community college.

Alcohol, on the other hand is a good friend of mine. In my 20's I drank every weekend, usually to the point of throwing up. Once I hit 30 I decided I really hate being hungover, so I rarely ever drink to that point anymore.

Booze and a few cigarettes is as far as I've gone.

It's a good thing too -- just coming into contact with an object from a marijuana user's house is enough to spark crazy bad symptoms like itching, burning throat, nausea, etc. I really, really don't want to know what would happen if I smoked the stuff.

I drank in college and have been in the room when others lit a big fat doobie. To quote Bill, "I didn't inhale," but I'm sure I got a secondary buzz from the cloud floating over our heads.

That was all in college, a hundred years ago. Since then I had to grow up, and be a parent. Nowadays, I'll sometimes have a cocktail or glass of wine with dinner or out by the pool, but that's it. Not worth the argument with my teens re: a do as I say, not as I do situation.

I'm 61 and one of the very few who did not try drugs at all in my circle of friends. I did a little drinking but not a lot.

I don't drink now or I should say, only once every couple of months or so.

It's just not something I even think about.

I have not. I smoked cigarettes once (when I was eight) and well, that didn't go so well for me. I didn't have my first drink until my mid thirties and I don't get it. I don't like the taste of alcohol-I get drunk on Sangria, if you can believe that. I tasted some fruity concoction once and that was good, but that was because it was more fruity and sweet than anything else.

Since my MD told me that alcoholic drinks may affect the efficacy of my clinical trial drugs, I don't drink at all. Well, except the random sip of wine whenever I'm at a social function (rare) so as not to offend my host/hostess.

I might have run into Peabay in my younger years.

That's all I will say.

Yes, I tried marijuana several times but have never been high. I think I wasn't doing it right. I never understood the appeal because of that. I'm 56.

My choice is to not take it personally - people have opinions. Particularly people here.-Peabay 12/29/11
I know this is assuming, but I'm really starting to think you are one of those "entitled" peas - Dalayney 4/2/12
