I got my DH this year:

a PS4 (he has not a clue)
a few games
4 shirts
some grilling things, my mom is buying him an electric smoker, so I got accessories

That is about it. He will love the PS4 though and I was able to get my kids the Xbox One-maybe I can get some scrapping done now with them all occupied.

For my ex from our son I have bought him:
Complete series of Sherlock on DVD
Hard drive thingy for iPad which allows you to stream 3 films at once from it and frees up memory ( Kingston mobilight wireless reader) and SD card
Emergency battery charger for his iPhone
Favourite sweets
Books about his favourite rock bands, Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and pink floyd
( my son likes his dad to have a stocking to open as he no longer has family to buy him stuff.)

It's not the passage of time that heals. It's what you do with that time.

Trying to find ideas for "free" things to do, unfortunate layoff back in September has made it impossible to do gifting this year.

I got him the old standards…underwear, socks, couple DVDs, couple sweaters, but this year I got something out of the ordinary…a cheapie wedding band. He has gained too much weight to fit into his actual band…he hasn't worn it in almost a year. I'm tired of waiting for him to lose enough weight to fit in it, so I got a cheap sterling silver band that looks similar to the real thing and he can wear that until he loses weight.

Some things that have not already been mentioned:

1/2 pound of assorted world coins to examine. Kind of wish I had gotten a full pound though, the 1/2 pound is smaller than I was picturing. Oh well, if he enjoys it, next year he can get a full pound!

Some cherry juice concentrate to take as a supplement. He keeps talking about, oh I wonder if that would help my aches and pains, but has never actually bought any to find out.

The book Strange Maps. He loves maps, and this book sounds really neat.

He is getting more presents, but either other people have mentioned them, or I have already talked about them on other threads. He gave me no ideas this year, other than "oh, you know what sorts of things I like" Thanks, honey!

DH got an Xbox One on release day, so I bought him a few Blu-rays (this xbox is our first Blu-ray capable electronic) on Amazon Thanksgiving night and on cyber Monday.

In his stocking he's getting socks, mini bottles of cologne to try out, pocket tools.

Mine is getting a new bottle of cologne, a garage door opener remote (he lost his), and a juicer.

He already bought himself a 60" flat screen tv and a new vexilar (ice fishing tool)-both are high buck items, so he is done!

A gold ring that you can mount a 1/10th ounce gold walking liberty coin in. He's wanted one for a while. Pretty sure he's figured out that one.

a motorcycle vest

All 4 seasons of spartacus (I'm going to regret that I just know it. I hate that show lol)

travel coffee mug

The ring set me back a lot more than I planned so I think that'll probably be it for him.

DH and I don't usually exchange gifts. There was always the kids, and then something for the house going on, so in the 20 years we've been together, maybe two or three years we have exchanged.

This year is a family gift - we're off to Disney in May!

He wanted a new leather coat this year. We found it at Eddie Bauer and it arrived yesterday. I got a fun Darth and son calendar for him that he will enjoy at his office from our boys. I got him Chapstick, candy, wickles pickles (he loves them!) a stand for his sunglasses, a few small tech accessories that container store had. He wants some gloves but we haven't been able to find some he likes.

The two big gifts I got for dh this year are a Garmin GPS watch for his running and an Art of Shaving gift set from Sephora. He really needs a new shaving brush so I splurged on the set so he can have the awesome AofS brush.

He was drooling at the AofS store when we were in Vegas last month, so I think he'll really like it. I hope so, anyway!

One if his gifts is a steam convection toaster oven. He really wanted one and so I got it. I also got him everything else on his list, but that is the one I think will surprise him. Not terribly exciting but oh well!

I bought him a new leather messenger bag and a 3TB external hard drive.

We're also getting a new GE 5 burner gas/convection range and over the range convection/microwave oven after Christmas so that is part of our gifts to each other.

I love this thread for ideas. I have a few things for DH but added the 12 pack of retro soda from World Market and Trader Joe's Salted Caramels from ideas on here.

I rarely go to World Market but it sure is a fun store!

DH is getting:

- A Dilbert page-a-day calendar
- Flannel pajama pants
- Subscriptions to Runner's World and Bicycling magazines
- New badminton racket of his choice - I will make up a certificate and let him order it, since I have no idea what racket would be best. He broke his a month or so ago and plays a couple times a week.

How about a fire pit for the patio.

I know you said he buys his own tools, but the Kobalt Utility Cutters were a huge hit with my step dad.

Like another Pea posted, I have a DH who will buy stuff as he sees it/wants it - drives us all crazy when December rolls around because we are left with no ideas! His mom and I even tried a "shopping moratorium" in Dec. - no luck. I get why he does it - he's always paying attention to blogs or sites related to his hobbies so he'd be the first to see stuff "at the good prices" so he likes to be sure to snap up the bargain, but it does make gift giving really difficult!

DH got the XBox One on release day. I told him when he pre-ordered it that it was his Christmas gift, but he opened it the second it was delivered.

We never bought a Blu-ray and don't have a PS3, so I got him a few Blu-ray movies when they were on sale after Thanksgiving.

He knows that the XBox was supposed to be for Christmas, so he's not expecting anything.

My husband is the hardest person in the world to buy presents for. He buys everything he wants when he wants so I don't ever get the chance to buy him tech gadgets or toys. so this year when we moved into our house we did the living room in wild animals. so for Christmas I got him a deer for the mantle and a bear fuzzy (looks like a photo in a frame) blanket. I also got him a old timer pocket knife and a couple other small things and a set of four margarita glasses. Actually they are for all of us but I want him to open them. maybe we can have more margaritas more often. We hate the plastic glasses we have and we only have 1 nice glass one.

Santa is bringing him a remote control helicopter. and a bunch of fun stuff in his very large stocking.

Happy scrapping
