Do you buy new rolls, and toss the extra so your kids don't know? Swap with friends? I'm really curious because I'm pretty sure this year is the last year I can use what I have on hand without questions as to how Santa's paper miraculously matches mine.

I just hide the remaining wrap with my Xmas decs. Then the next year I purchase a new roll for Santa gifts. The prior year roll just gets merged in with my regular wrapping. (Kids don't remember year to year what Santa gifts were wrapped in.).

But I do like your idea of swapping/sharing with friends.

Santa has his own paper . I used to use the same kind every year but this year I couldn't find it in the store. So, it's different but still his own kind.

Santa has different paper than any that we wrap our presents in. When we run out of it, I will buy a different kind that is also different from what we have. In our house, Santa uses paper that depicts him (a very adorable cartoon image of Santa and a reindeer doing various tasks).

I always used paper with a Santa print for the gifts from Santa.
When my son questioned it I told him that Santa didn't want to carry all those toys AND wrapping paper, too, so he used our Santa paper.
Seemed to do the trick.

Santa's presents have pictures of him on it. Other wrapping paper does not-this year we have penguins, nutcrackers, blue metallic polka dots, pink metallic ornaments.

I buy 2 rolls of wrapping paper with Santa's face on it. This year I didn't even have to open the second roll. I'll have to put it in a good hiding spot for next year. In past years when I have had parts of a roll leftover, I toss it in the trash so as not to raise suspicion.

When I was little, I remember unwrapping gifts from Santa. I don't remember if it was different than everything else.

In our house Santa gifts are unwrapped and ready to play with! (DH's family tradition.

I told my DD that Santa wraps her gifts in paper that I leave out for him. That's why the extras are still at the house. She totally bought it and asked to pick out her own Santa paper this year. Only downside--can't wrap her gifts from Santa until Christmas Eve.

Santa doesn't wrap at our house. He leaves one gift sitting in front of the tree unwrapped.

If I were to wrap Santa gifts I probably would go with just a plain red paper.

Each kid has their own paper from Santa. Got that idea from 2peas and it works like a charm because we don't have to read labels. All other gifts are wrapped in paper from previous years. And all paper from Santa has Santa on the paper.

Santa paper is different - it always either has pictures of Santa on it, or something to do with him (this year's is red with white/silver Ho Ho Hos on it, picked up on clearance at Target last year …

Occasionally if it's a really big present or a really small one (stocking stuffers), Santa doesn't wrap it.

Santa uses different paper - usually something with a picture of him on it. Any remaining Santa paper either gets tossed or saved for the following year.

A friend at work does something that I wish I would have thought of. She and her kids go shopping for wrapping paper for Santa. They "send" the paper to the north pole and ask Santa to wrap any gifts that they are getting in that paper. I thought that was a great idea. It would sure help answer the questions that arise when Dear Aunt Sally brings a gift wrapped in the same paper that Santa used...

This is exactly what I do. I even have friends write out the tags that go on Santa gifts. That's how I figured out Santa wasn't real: Why does Santa have the same writing as Mom?

Santa uses special paper. It is different for each kid. It gets hidden in a different place so it isn't with the rest of the paper.

Santa has his own paper. When my kids still believed, we did wrap each child's present in the same wrap, so each child got their own wrap. For any extras, I always left the rolls of paper sitting out next to the tree, as if Santa just left the extras for us and then we added it to our stash and used it next year. It was never questioned. Now that our youngest is 14, I still use Santa paper separate from other gifts, but it really isn't an issue anymore to hide the paper or leave it on Christmas morning.

Santa's gifts are wrapped in paper that has his picture on it. No other gifts are wrapped in Santa paper. Of course, dd is 14, but I still hold to that tradition. And when she still believed, Santa did all his package labels on the computer. So his handwriting didn't look like mine.

Same here. I just put the Santa paper roll with the other wrapping rolls, the kids don't go through it or any thing.

Santa had his own paper for as long as my kids believed. I would put it away after that year and not rotate it into my paper for a few years. ALSO, each kid has their own unique paper that all of their Santa gifts were wrapped in - stocking and tree.

Now I have LOTS of paper to use up, so I haven't purchased paper in a few years and probably won't need to for years and years to come.

My kids are now 20 and 14.

I have 2 rolls of paper - one has Santa on it and one has snowmen. One son gets santa paper and the other gets snowmen. I use the leftover paper the next year.

They do not give a darn about the paper. It helps me know exactly what I have for each boy.

My dh bought a special roll last year that has Santas all over it. It is a huge roll and we keep it separate from the other Christmas wrap. I have enough to use that for several years since Santa only brings one or two things to my kids. I used to not wrap Santa gifts since that's how I grew up but my dh didn't like it. So this was a compromise.

My friend has her kids each pick a new roll of wrapping paper for Santa to use on their gifts each year. Then their elf takes the rolls to Santa so he can wrap their gifts in it.

I think I am the exception to everyone. Santa doesn't bring "gifts" to my house. Santa does a pretty cool stocking, but the stocking doesn't have crazy expensive stuff, just things like t-shirts, socks, pens, earbuds, candy, etc.

Gifts come from me, so no separate wrapping paper needed.

Santa wraps in plain white paper with red ribbon. I stash the wrap in my closet. Only one Santa gift, and some small things in stocking that sometimes are wrapped. Oh, and Santa Mouse wraps in white paper with a yellow ribbon. Just something small hidden in the tree, like a matchbox car.

I always feel like I am going to get busted for this because I have a curious/nosey and very observant son. One year I started this thing that elves came stole the gift wrap to bring to Santa, left the empty rolls and just a few scraps (all while we were out doing an errand or at the bus stop) This year the subject hasn't been brought up, so we will see what he says (he is almost 9)

My best friend said she always uses paper that has santa or santa's face on it. Great idea - wish I did that sooner.

Santa has his own paper with pictures of himself all over it. He also uses my cricut to cut out initials and puts those on their packages. Saves from the whole handwriting issue.

This year, Santa had a brilliant idea and cut out a whole slew of initials to save for next year while the cricut was out.

Santa wrapping paper is hidden in my hope chest. Every year is a new Santa paper. After a couple years, I use the old Santa paper to wrap dh's gifts.

We don't wrap Santa gifts in our home. Presents that are from DH/me to the kids are wrapped and placed under the tree in the living room. Santa gifts are unwrapped and ready to use/play with and placed near the stockings, which are located in the family room. We cover them up with a red blanket until it's time for the big reveal. We do the Christmas tree gifts first, then the stockings and then the Santa gifts.

I really love reading all the different Santa traditions on this thread, but this one was by far the strangest. Santa only does the stocking and he brings socks, etc. Really why even bother with the concept of Santa if this is the level of his involvement. Santa represents the magic of Christmas. Kids only believe for such a short time. Why not at least try to make it as magical as possible.
