Wow people already have their kits in the mail and I still can't see the top of my craft table for all the holiday odds and ends that have been stashed. I'll get to it soon or when the kids get back to school. Going to spend New Years Eve with the family tomorrow. My 8yo daughter gets her cast off her foot tomorrow so she is pretty excited.

Neysa your card is so cute. Thanks for the visual on the kit. That really helped a lot, truly.

Daniel is going to kill me but I think I overcomplicated my kit. I use to do a different envie swap over at a different forum. I was still on that mindset making my kit up.

Swap progress- I will be making up my kit today. I hope to have it sent by the weekend.

LOL, Neysa! Gosh. April & I wish you would show a little enthusiasm for this swap. Glad you are enjoying this, pal!

Lyla. 'Kill you'? Trust me sweetie. Your name doesn't make even the top 10 on my 'hit list' for homicide. 'Sides, I'm running out of places to hide the bodies.

Far as what goes into your kit, there is no wrong or right. Neysa's kit is what she did. My 'test' kit to April went a different approach & I used the same approach with the Jan. kit I made (in the mail).

Although April & I have not discussed this, I believe some of the difficulty for putting together a 'kit' may be the word KIT. For many it implies the materials for a specific project. Such is not the case for this swap--even if you have specific projects in mind as you add stuff to your envelope.

We would welcome suggestions from all of you for how we might clarify what 'kit' means for this swap.

Forgot to add...

I edited the Snow Globe Challenge deadline. extended it end-of-January in case any kit swappers want to use it as a project inspiration.

Well, just my opinion, but when I think of what you mean as a 'kit' it's just items that coordinate somewhat.

Mine is ready so it will go into the mail tomorrow! It's a little weird! My swapmate will hopefully have some fun with it, LOL

Thanks, Kathy! Excellent input.

Although we have not (far as I recall, April) used the term 'project kit' for the swap, we're open to suggestions for how we might assist our fellow swappers--current & new--in understanding what our aim is foe this.

One thing April & I don't plan to budge on is the envelope (size/type) of this swap. But we are open to alternatives for naming our swap--especially if 'kit' might be a stumbling block for it.

Here's a few possibles: (feel free to suggest others)

Take Two Envelopes
Twin Stuff
Stuff Two
Treasure Trove For Two

17 swappers so far What an awesome turnout if we do say so ourselves

I think the term "kit" will become less of a stumbling block after after we get this first month under our belts.

For my "kit" I put together items that I was inspired to use at the moment. They can be used together or can stand alone on their own. Just remember, the recipient only has to pick 3 items to use together from the kit

I agree with Kathy about coordinating for the kits. Even though some of my kit veers from that a little. I always like to throw in a bit of fun and how the heck should I use this piece as an element.

I also kind of think kits as the card or scrapbooking kits on the market. That does help me a lot working on this one. I like to do Counterfeit challenge too.

Big welcome Lyla!

Kit Progress- I got a lot done on it tonight. I had so much fun. It was so relaxing and one of the most fun crafting projects I done in a long time. A great way to start off the New Year. I will have mine out this weekend (crossing fingers nothing happens). I send my mail out on the weekends. I will be the mail weekend swapper.

I had fun putting it all together. Now I'm working on my kit and making up some projects with it.

Actually (don't tell April), I'm only 'so-so' about this swap. I mean really. We only have 18 swappers (so far).

We have matched all registered swappers--Including our 'New Lyla'.

As Heidi says, it's going to be fun to see 'who' sends us 'what'. 'Course April & I already know who's sending us kits, but we'll be just as surprised by what they contain.

Like all good hosts, April & I plan to step back a bit, relax & let the party roll without hovering over all the guests. However... If we see a guest or two who isn't chatting occasionally here, we may comment.

And we want to remind those who are either new to 2Ps or do not have projects in the 2Ps gallery that it is part of the requirement for this swap--1 project from your kept kit AND 1 project from the kit you get are the bare minimums by January 31.

WTG 'Joe' AND everyone who is getting their kits together to mail before the Jan. 11 deadline!

As I've already shared, I'm using items from my 'kept' kit in my Jan. Tag for Pug's Swap, but I'm finding that building my kit has benefited me in another way...

I'm committed to doing an ATC swap for January on another site . Turns out that one of the stamps I used in my kit was perfect as the inspiration for doing this ATC. Although I did not use the item from the kit, the fact that it was in my head so helped me to do the ATC.

Are we to put our card in the gallery now, or wait until the kit arrives and the new owner has time to make something?

Btw, if you need another swapper I can pair with someone else.

LOL, AJ! Welcome aboard.

Joyce. We're letting each swapper decide when they wish to share piece(s) from their kept kit. Personally? I prefer to wait until my sent kit reaches its destination, but your call.

BTW. Please let us know when you receive a kit from someone. You may also--at that point--PM/Email the person who sent it to you so they know it arrived.

Ms. Espresso. Glad you found the swap. We'll definitely be doing another for February. Hope you'll sign-up for that one.

Yes, Daniel did send me a kit and it came today. It has some great pieces in it and I hope to get started today!! I had the same question as Joyce regarding when to post the projects. I have a project done from my kit (which is in the mail), but I probably will wait to post all the projects together.

The kit I received has a bit more in it than I sent out. It was really hard to know how much to send in relation to what others were with this being the first swap.

Just so everyone knows--including Heidi... Before April & I talked about possible match-ups for the swap, we both began creating our kits. That means that what I sent to Heidi was not done with her in mind.

As this swap continues, we are all going to get more comfortable with how we deal with constructing our kits (We have faith!)

And I'm giving Heidi . Although she shares that her 'send' kit doesn't hold as much, she understands that this swap is not how much you send or even what you send in the envelope.

What pleases April & I so much is how many of our fellow StamPeas are seeing this swap as way to interact with our forum's other swaps & challenges, as well as connecting with those who are not Peas.

To me a kit means that things coordinate or work together. I avoided metal or bulky items due to mailing restrictions and felt that a person would probably be able to add those types of elements from their personal stash. I am open to whatever comes my way. I was inspired by my new stamp and was anxious to have an excuse to play with it. This swap was the perfect example. I don't tend to overthink my stamping- but that is just me. I am also a more simple stamper. Can't wait to get my kit in the mail and to see what everyone does with their kit- such a fun swap. Hope you are all having fun with it.

Thanks,
Neysa aka neyw

I am sending my kit definitely today. I have started creating with the contents of my kit I made. I am really enjoying it. I really love how simple it is. I have a tendency to overplan my projects. I am loving my kit because I just grab a piece out and start creating. No over planning just relaxing fun.

I won't be posting anything of my kit until my partner gets her kit in.

WTG, Michele! That was fast!

Can't wait to see what you make Joyce!

Speaking of making... I've one project finished & one in the works from my kept kit, but on 2 other groups I occasionally hang, the current toic is 'stencils'. Cool! Found a stencil in my stash that will work with what remains in my kit.

April & I have not discussed this, but I'm sure she joins me in being happy that us kit swappers are using their kits in such a great variety of ways already!

Ok, so just to be clear...I do not post a photo of my kit or project until my recipient posts that they've received the kit OR posts their finished project? Im trying to catch up on the boards right now and maybe I've read too many threads...my head is spinning

AJ, it is up to each swapper as to when they share photos of the kit or a project from the kit. Daniel and I both prefer that everyone waits until the kit reaches it's destination, but it's up to each individual swapper
