Debi, glad they were able to find the bacteria. Hopefully the new antibiotics will work fast and you can start your ra med right away! xx

Nylene, it's been raining ice all day! Started last night. After class yesterday morning, I canceled all my clients at my other job and came straight home. Lol looks like we will be home for a while..can't drive in the ice! Glad I'm home this time though! And hoping the power doesn't go out like they are expecting

Happy scrapping ladies!

Sim, I just saw on TV that you are going to/are being hammered with rain and ice. I'm so sorry. Stay home and stay warm if possible. I hope you don't lose your power.

Kelly, I want to see what Valentines you have made. What are you drawing now? How fun to know you were born about the time we got married. See, you could fit right into our family! Our oldest was born in 69.

Cindy, please let us know when you get your flower tutorial done. I love the shapes of your flowers and I think I can find cut files very similar on one of my Cricut cartridges. Now I need to see your procedure!

Debi, pat yourself on the back a bit for helping with homework, especially when it's stuff you have to teach yourself first. In my years of teaching I learned that there are a lot of parents who wouldn't make the effort.

Pam, will you have Ruby Thursday tomorrow or is it too cold for her to come visiting?

Gotta run. Doing some reorganizing and trying to find somewhere for my Cub stuff and get it out of my scraproom.

Good morning Peas! Sounds like the south really got blasted by the storm. Sim I hope you are doing alright. We did not get any of this one, it stayed well south of us.

Nylene-I hope to work on my tutorial today. I had to make a few flowers to refresh my memory as I had not made any for a while. So hopefully I will have it up soon and I will post the link here.

Kelly- We do have new folks in the front office and it makes me happy! Those two were real problems and caused a lot of the havoc with the team. I am glad they are gone.
Ray Farmer looks to be a good choice ad I am glad our owner had his eyes opened. Hopefully all the changes are done for a while. It is sad it could not have happened before all this upheaval. It is sad when a man who interviewed for the head coaching job said he was embarrassed by the CEO interviewing him.

Missy-I agree with Nylene about your avatar-a great pic of the two of you.

A big hello to Jana, Jen and everyone else. Pam- missing you and those pages of Miss Ruby! Going to get off of here and get busy. BBL

Hugs, Cindy

Hello all!!

Well,it is nice and sunny and 9 degress this am. Yesterday seemed like spring as it was in the upper teens. We have a lot of snow to melt,so I forecast mud, lol!!

The deer are always in my yard and fields, but this year, they are eating all my arborvitae and coming up to the house. They are so gentle to watch but I hope the weather eases and they can move back a bit. I think some of my trees are devastated. Last night they ate the honeysuckle on the back deck near the fireplace. I think they just got the old leaves and pruned it a little. Ugh.....

Yes, Nylene, today is Ruby Thursday and she will be coming this afternoon. We are all excited to see her.

I finished another rug for the master bath,it looks nice and will feel good stepping out of the tub. The floors are tile,so they feel rather cool in the winter. I will probably make another for in front of the sink,so it is time to get more fabric.

Sim,hope you are safe inside with power and food. Ice is impossible to overcome on the roadways until it melts. Seize the moment and scrap....

I have been working on cards and seem to be in a rut with ideas. I am not a fancy card maker, just basic and a little embellishment. I guess I will look up some of my old saved ideas and see what develops.

Kelly, you sound like you have mojo.... Are you sewing yet?

Debi, hope your health is returning, sounds like the physicians think so.. it's a long road when you have underlying illness also.

Cindy, I guess I missed the flowers chat..I love new flower patterns...you know how I am about flowers in general, lol

Hello to Knutschen,Missy,Christina,Shannon and all the others that I may have left off.Soon Come

P.S. I posted some pages in the pp gallery... just a few days ago!!

days like these

Good Morning ladies! You are not going to believe this but I found the tutorial on how to make those flowers! You can find it here:

From my craft room.

I hope you all have fun making these. I usually do them in different sizes and I usually do 6 layers. Nylene that one shape was incorrect as you can see. I told you they are pretty easy and fun to make!!! I lightly mist each layer as I go so the the distress ink spreads thru the paper. I do play around with the petals after opening them up. You have to play with them a bit. I use the end of my piercer and curl the outer petals a little you have to be very careful with the damp paper. I also spray mine with glimmer mist type mist when they are drying.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Cindy. I can hardly wait to sit and do some of these. I don't have many colors of distress inks, but I think I have blue and red. I really appreciate your finding this tutorial for me. I may make flowers all this weekend.

I am so glad I made you ladies so happy! I want to be seeing some of these! You do have to fuss with them a little! My DH took me to Panera's for a lunch/dinner for part of my Valentine's day. It is too busy everywhere to go out on the actual day for me.

Hello All,
Just wanted to pop in and say hello since I've been MIA for the last couple of weeks.
I've just returned from a wonderful Disney cruise in the Caribbean with my family. It felt good to feel the warmth of the sun and breathe in the fresh sea air. The worst part of the whole vacation was having to come home.

It seems you have all been busy scrapping away so I hope to get caught on the forum and see all of your projects during the long weekend.

Hope everyone is staying warm. We had a little scare yesterday, a FIRE! Yes, when I woke up I heard an alarm but didn't think it has in our apt complex. Then after I got moving, I heard one our neighbors talking about it. It was upstairs just one apt over. I didn't smell the smoke at first but then I did. The fire dept got here quick and turns out someone left something on in the stove area. So glad it didn't get out of hand but the smoke & mildrew smell lingered just a little before it was all gone. Thank goodness! Just glad no one was injured and all is well but what a way to wake up.

Cindy- Oh that flower tutorial looks fun. Thanks for sharing it!

Nylene- Yes, I could be your oldest. Such a cool story though. Oh yeah, my Valentine's cards I will share soon. I used my art as the cover. They look cute and can't wait to send them.

Pam- Oh that would be fun to see the deers. Have you got any good pics of them? That would make a nice lo. My sewing is on hold because I need to get a piece for it. Not sure what it is called but it is the piece that holds the thread spool on the long stick at the top of the machine. I guess it keeps it from flying off when you sew. Hope to find out about it soon.

Nikki- What a fun trip. Glad you got to take it and get some relief from the cold for a while.

Oh, Cindy, thank you for posting that sweet Valentine for everyone. I thought I'd try to post one, but got busy this morning and it didn't get done.

Today is my DD's b-day. What a fun day for a birthday. She loves it!

I'm off to deliver invitations to our Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet. The boys made them at our Den meeting on Tuesday. They turned out cute.
(Some a little wonky...but they were cute!)

I'll be back to chat later. Cindy, I did a couple of flowers last night with some die cuts I had cut earlier. I can't wait to do some with various sizes.

Happy Sunday!
How is everyone? I'm well but time keeps slipping away from me. I know the Olympics keeps sucking me into the TV.

I haven't been scrapping but I plan to go to a crop on Saturday and should get some pages done.

Kelly, I was just sick to hear about the fire in your building. I am so grateful that it did not hurt anyone and that you and your possessions are safe!

Cindy, my idea of making flowers all weekend go derailed with the onset of a migraine. I'm feeling better today, but feel like someone used an egg beater in my head to scramble my brains. I hate that feeling.

Nikki, I'm glad you had a great vacation. Sounds like lots of sun, lots of light and lots of fun.

I'm off to pick up the things we need for our Blue and Gold Banquet tomorrow. It is always so much work, but the boys seem to have fun and that's the purpose.

I have a couple of pages almost finished and hope to finish and post them this week.

Have a wonderful week. I'll check back after the banquet.

Good morning Peas! I hope everyone is doing well. I woke up at 5 and went to bed at midnight so I am in slomo today.

Nylene-I know what you mean about migraines-I get them frequently. Well you will get your flowers made when you have time.

Speaking of flowers check this out:

Flowers

These will blow your mind. I am actually trying these! Pam you will definitely want to see these and I am sure they will become a new favorite of yours.
Have fun! BBL

Howdy from Ohio....

Kelly sorry about the fire, glad you are ok... Stay safe and make sure your alarms are up to snuff. Can't wait to see your cards....

Nylene, I had a migraine all last week. I started having them when my dh got sick and they can last for days to weeks. If I get deep sleep, that sometimes helps although this last one even made my scalp sore. Hope yours is gone!!

Cindy, thanks for the flowers tute.... I am going to tackle it when my chores are finished later this day. I love making flowers and those look super cool!!

We are expecting another storm later today... what's new. I don't need to go anywhere so I am good to stay in and have fun. I think the deer have eaten all the arborvitae but they are still here every afternoon and all night long. I have been shooing them away, but they only run a short distance, wait for me to settle down, then come right back up to the house. I hope they find other food soon.

I need to make another rug for my Bff this week, since we are having club at her house and I want to give her something nice for a gift. I have the fabric ready, all I need to do is sit down and start.

Hello to all my Pokey friends, hoping all is wonderful in your lives.

Soon Come Pam

Cindy, thank you for those links. I will watch them all after the Banquet. You are so sweet to share.

Pam, I understand about having sore scalp after a migraine. I take a couple of pills nightly (have done for years) that seem to help prevent them. That dropped them from 7-8 a month to a couple of times a year. I've had really good control for the last 8 years. But occasionally one gets away before I can get on top of it. Deep sleep is my cure also. But I feel like my brain is fried for the next 2 days. I know my thinking is slowed and if I turn my head quickly I'd fall over. Weird!

Just a quick run by while dinner is cooking.
Here are the pages I finished the other day.

Charming & Courageous

Be back later.

Hi ladies!

Pam, is the weather better now and is your headache better too? I used to have terrible headaches and knew it wasn't a migraine though it sounds like one...it's more superficial and electric in a way. At the back of my skull. And kind if tingly and painful. I used to actually pure biofreeze in my scalp because nothing would help!! I realized it was neuralgia and have to be mindful of my neck positioning. Ugh it sucks! Chiropractor that specializes in upper cervical helps. Not the traditional popping techniques. But yes, headaches and migraines really stink. I know it's hard when you have a family and these pains limit you. Hugs

Thanks for the tutorial Cindy! I'll be checking it out later when I have some free time.

The weather here is finally warming up! Phew! I survived the ice storm! Lol

Sorry I was away again for some days...I was busy getting engaged!!!! he proposed on vday!

I have so much to scrap! Haha.

I'll have to come back soon to see the gallery. Chat later

CONGRATULATIONS SIM.....how romantic...

Today it is melting, yes melting and it is very sunny. Sort of hurts your eyes, lol!! I am seeing more birds the last few weeks at the feeders and enjoying them. The cardinals show up so vividly against the snow.I have been trying to get some good shots, but they are one step ahead of me.

I am working on the bff rug, round 7,it looks pretty good, although,I could not find the fabric colors that I had envisioned. I think she will still like it,though.

Cindy, I so love that first technique, simple yet beautiful when done. If it gets too complicated with many steps, I usually talk myself out of doing it. I like the misting and distressing, works for my cards and themes.

Well, I must move on with my day.... Soon Come Pam

Rainy day here...everyone is still sleeping,...so I'm surfing the net instead of rumbling around the house doing chores...(I know that's an excuse to avoid work, but I'm trying to rationalize my laziness--LOL). Did put in some laundry though.

What are you doing today?

Glad everyone is enjoying the tutorials I think the flowers are beautiful and it gives you a few things to add to your flowers as you make them. Well be back tomorrow.

SIM my boys just celebrated their 15th birthday last week. They have grown up so fast, and so tall...LOL

Got my garbage disposal installed today with help from my friend, but the one I bought from Amazon didn't work after it was installed, so had to take it back out (and now have to figure out how to return it) and go buy another one at the local home depot. But at least that job is done and so I can now use my dishwasher if I want to ...

Treated my friend and me too, to wonderful Thai food for lunch. A nice treat. Then bought pizza for the boys for dinner.

Other wise just an ordinary day.

Aw, you have twins debi? How sweet! I've got my brother living with me right now. He's 18. You would think that by this age one could let go but I just don't stop worrying about him! Lol and he's just my bro. Not even my kid! Maybe it's because he is soooo much younger than me? Hmm.

Thanks Cindy! I'll try to share what I can. We haven't set a date yet. A few things I have to take into consideration first. So it could go one of two ways. Either a rush wedding by June. Or take our time by end if the year. To be honest, I don't want to get married in the winter! I want a spring wedding this is going to be so challenging!! But let's see. Gotta talk to mom first. She will know best! Haha

Can't believe I'm up at 4 in the morning. this happens when I don't eat a ton for dinner. I wake up hungry and with an empty tummy ache. Maybe it will just take time to adjust to not pigging out before bed? Hmmpf

Ps. My cart is now empty. (My hand in the air) I promise not to make any purchases for at least one month or 25 layouts, whichever comes first. Hahah actually, I think I can do 6 weeks. End of march

Aaargh, just lost my whole post.

Sim, congrats on your engagement! That's wonderful. I hope we see some scrapping of your preparations and the event. Hope that you can work things out for a WARM wedding. We were married in winter, and it was oh so cold!

Cindy, I have watched a couple of tutorials and look forward to having some time to watch and play. I think next week will be slower.

Debi, glad you got the disposal replaced. I hope you can get your money back on the one that didn't work.

Kelly, let us know when you post to your blog. I forget to check. I'm not good on keeping up with blogs. Can't wait to see all you have done.

Pam, tomorrow must be Ruby Thursday again. We haven't seen Alex for about a week. They've had sickness and I didn't feel well over the weekend.

Our Blue and Gold Banquet turned out nicely. We always have trouble with the boys not liking what we serve, so this year we asked parents to bring a pot luck dish that their children liked to eat. Guess what we had.....all pizza and varieties of mac and cheese! The boys came back for 2nds and 3rds. We had hung large world flags all around the room and had flags on each table. We had world key chains for napkin rings and DH made little wooden blocks for a favor. It was so much work and I'm exhausted, but it's over for the year. Everyone seemed to have a good time.

Well, I'm going to go rest up. I'm supposed to go help a bunch of girls sew quilts tonight. My machine is on the fritz so I'll be helping girls who don't know how to sew, on a machine I'm not familiar with. Could be a disaster!

I'll be back later.

Hey all! It is a beautiful day here. I wish I could bottle it up and send it to you all. Here are a few of the things I have been up to lately.

This one is from our wedding anniversary lunch at the golf course. Another one coming soon.
True Love

These are the V Day cards I made and sent to a few special ones. Loved using my art.
V Day Cards

Nylene- Wow, what an event you gave those boys and their families. I know they had a fantastic time. Great job girl! Hope you get some rest before the quilting party. That sounds fun too. Yes, I will let you all know when I post on my blog again.

Cindy- How's that smart tv?

Sim- I say just shop more and only scrap when you want to!LOL! Enjoy you fun supplies. I love shopping here too.

Good morning to all!!

Well it's rain and thunder today. A new twist on the Ohio winter!! Wind is to arrive soon. I personally cannot wait, lol!!

Up early today for some strange reason... I like to sleep a little later. Oh,well,my que to be productive. I finished the bff rug, looks good, still not happy about the colors.... starting a new one today, maybe it will be just right.

Nylene, your banquet sounds so wonderful for those children and their families. I had to chuckle at your description of the menu. I love to see people eat lots when they come here,so why not feed them what they like.I am sure they were thrilled to be honored and thankful that there are people like you and your dh who care.

Kelly,so glad your mojo kicked in,your page and cards were divine. Those smiles on your faces tell the true story. Are you experiencing any water shortage issues in your area? I have seen on the news that your region is in a severe drought. I will send you a few buckets of moisture,we are floating, lol!!

Sim,so glad that your bad weather has moved on.... It will be like here during the 78 blizzard when the birth of the 4 wheel drive sent everyone to the dealership to buy a new vehicle that would go through the snow. Now,it is just common that you have that capability to navigate. We have an enormous long lane and that saves us many times in the deepest snow. We use a bobcat almost daily lately. When you are not used to severe weather it really can be devastating.

Debi, are you still deep into diy and home improvement. My hat is off to you for tackling some of those jobs that you have mentioned. As I have learned since dh passed, there are so many things I don't know how to fix, that he did on a daily basis. My dsil is most helpful,he is a contractor and jack of all trades. My nearest son also helps me solve a lot of those problems.I get so frustrated not knowing how to fix stuff. I should have taken some basic courses at the vocational school and I would maybe be some better. Good Luck!!

Hello to all you other busy ladies, hope you are having some fun here and there.

Soon Come Pam

Good Morning! Wow so nice to hear from everyone! Yes like Pam we are melting and expecting rain, thunder and high winds. The winds have started already but will be worse tonight. We had snow up to the to up of our picnic table after this last snow. I have pics of the grands standing on it when it was to the top of the benches. Now it is melting and I am not sure where that water is going. They said last night that the ground is frozen a foot deep.

Kelly-the smart tv is fine. Maggie had the computer pulled up on it the other day. I am not sure how often I will use that option! We have been going down in the evenings watching the Olympics. I was working down there yesterday. I have made it through all the boxes and sorted what I am keeping and what I am donating or trashing. A lot of it is home decore items so I am letting the girls take what they want then it is going to be donated. I sure can tell I have not done much deep cleaning the past couple of years! But I am getting there.

Nylene-it sure sounds like the banquet was a success. How did the quilting party go? I know you miss the baby when you don't get to see him. Missing Sam and ?Drew must be terrible.

Pam I am with you about this weather. Enough already! I did not know where we would put anymore snow! We have not had a winter like this for a longtime. I remember in the late seventies and I used to shovel wondering where I was going to put anymore.

Well hopefully I will get to scrap today. I have not scrapped for over a week. Oh that is not true-I did my page for PL Saturday. I did not post it as you have seen most of our exciting life!

Well be back later!

Hugs, Cindy

Cindy and Pam, it sounds like you guys are in for more WEATHER! I wonder when it will stop. I worry about the flooding that too often occurs after that much snow. Keep dry, you two.

Kelly, your artwork is incredible. I'm sooo glad you are being creative and enjoying it. It really does good things to the body to do something creative and fun. My dad used to say the best thing you can do for your old age is to develop a hobby that you can do forever. I know his wood carving kept him sane in his 90's.

Jen, how was your crop last weekend? Did you get some pages done? We'd love to see them.

Debi, we've had a lot of rain too. It's snowing in the mountains though which will really help our water situation. How was Ultimate practice in the rain?

I got out of helping the girls sew last night. My legs were aching from being on them all day the day before and they seemed to have enough adults and enough machines, so I came home and crawled into my warm electric blanket and promptly fell asleep at 7:30! I guess I needed that.
They were sewing patches of denim and flannel to make the kind of quilt that you fringe the edges. There were about 20 girls with 96 blocks of fabric each. Yi-yi-yi! So many were scared of the machines. I was glad I got to leave.

Just had an old friend of ours from High School drop by. Had a great visit.

Be back later.

We lucked out, no rain during practice, but the boys complained it was cold...mid 40's and then of course, they are wearing shorts...brrr! Noah's hands were frozen.

We get to do it all again tomorrow.

The women's hockey game was a nail biter...so sad USA ended up with the silver when they were so close to the gold. You sure could see their disappointment.

The ice skating had it's upsets too especially after the near flawless performances during the short program. Hate when they fall in the long program. I like watching it though; amazing what they can do while balancing on 2 metal blades, isn't it?

Got all 10 chapters of kanji flashcards designed...just need to print some and cut them out; then it's full fledge forcing my son to use them. LOL

I ate too much for dinner, so feeling lazy. Planning on watching tv tonight. What are you up to?

Thanks nylene!

Kelly, now I know you are going to be an enabler haha. I must freeze soon..seriously! Haha

Yes, Pam, I am so glad the roads aren't icy anymore. As you all know, us Atlantans freak at the sight of snow or ice! Hehe

Debi, sounds like you are relaxing after a satisfying dinner I had a terribly long day that just wasn't ending. I finally just left work cuz I couldn't take it anymore. Hehe grabbed a sub on the way home since my 'boys' at home don't cook. Lol. Laid on the couch on my phone as the dudes played video games and watched the taste.

Glad your banquet went well, nylene.

I may need some help and encouragement ladies...not only do I have to stay away from spending more money on Scrapbooking supplies, but I gotta lose a couple pounds too. Gotta get rid of this tummy roll before the big day!! Don't wanna scrap photos of this tummy! Haha

Have a good night ladies.

Sim, I can identify with the belly roll! DH and I started MyFitnessPal on our ipads over a year ago. We have been able to keep the weight off. I still have 30 lbs to go, but DH is at his ideal weight. It has taken a lifestyle change. Sometimes I really miss the sugary treats.
Good luck. I know you can do it. Now not shopping for scrappy stuff....that's another story!

Debi, those boys are tough to brave the elements for Ultimate. You're a great mom for supporting them.

I have tulip leaves poking through the snow. Makes me think there's a chance for Spring!

I scrapped instead of doing other things yesterday. Here's my layout.
This little guy is now 15. The journaling is printed in the notes.

Off the get something accomplished today. Have a great Weekend all you Pokey Pals!

Hello...Happy Friday.

I've been up awhile but been procrastinating doing an errand I want to put off but can't...need to go to the bank downtown.

Housemate took the day off and is heading to Vashon Island with her boyfriend (who also took off the day) for a day/night together to celebrate Valentine's day late. So house is pretty quiet.

Kids head off to their dad's tonight so tonight I'll be all alone.

Now if I could just motivate myself to continue doing some decluttering/organizing of the spaces still needing it (my room and the basement)...we'll see.

Hope you have a great end of the week.
Debi

Hey all! I had a slow day but did get some scrapping and art going. I got another bright idea for my drawing and was excited to start. I wanted to draw my mil in her wedding pic. So far it is looking good but then I keep looking at the nose at it looked crooked and too long! So after a while I just had to erase it. I get upset when I have to start over because sometimes it hard to get it right again. So fingers are crossed!

Nylene- So glad you like my art. Your dad was right about getting hobbies to keep us sane. With all the arts and crafts I am developing I should be ok in my old age. Also, glad you got some rest and didn't have to help the gals with all that sewing. I know you were relieved.

Cindy- Oh, I know your dgks are enjoying that new tv. They probably will figure out all the fun gadgets on it. Are you still watching the Olympics? I haven't seen too but did see some of the ice skating, boobsled and the curling along with brief glimpses of some of the other stuff.

Pam- thanks for sending that water! I know we haven't had a lot of rain for a long while so not to surprised about our water concerns. It just seens like we haven't have our regular cool winter at all. Just been warm for weeks and weeks. So maybe this Spring will be cold to make up for all this warmth.

Sim- If you need cheerleaders you have come to the right place! You can do it and I know your engagement will motivate you so much too.

Hi! Just a quick stop as I making Becky's birthday dinner-chicken pot pies and salad and her New York Giants ice cream cake from the Dairy Queen. They will be arriving soon. Getting ready to fill the pies and bake them shortly. Maggie made her mom home made waffles-her very first attempt- for breakfast in bed. she emailed me for the recipe. I guess they did not have enough pancake mix so she went right to Bisquick and got the recipe and made it. Even topped it with chocolate chips and Hershey kisses! She knows I make pancakes from Bisquick all the time. I am proud of her and she is not quite 10. ok gotta run!

Good Monday morning to all the Pokey Peas. I hope you are having a good week so far. We have 50 degree weather and it feels like spring. I hope it stays nice tomorrow because my Cubs have to the trash from a section of road tomorrow.

How is the weather in your neck of the woods. I know that spring isn't really just around the corner, but I hope you are all getting some relief from the ice and snow and rain.

Hope to see you all checking in occasionally with some scrapping projects.

Have a great one!
