I have replied to all of the original poster's emails since Sunday and communicated with her about the issue privately.

I honestly did not know I wasn't allowed to call her by her real name, I was trying to be respectful by using it. I'm sorry, I was not aware of this rule.

I like how even this post by KP has to be snarky. It's not a RULE to not use a person's name. She just didn't share her name and it's common human decency not to share it online. Just like it's common human decency for Paper Tales to not have shared her purchasing history (yet they did). Some people like to protect their privacy online. It's not that hard to figure out. But no, you guys just keep editing your posts, deleting your posts, and changing your stories. I'm sure that'll help the situation.

Came here to see why a thread on FSFT had so many page views! Now...now I wish I hadn't. Some of the comments on here from ALL parties - designers, sellers, Peas - are really juvenile.

Hope a resolution can be reached that works for everyone.

Yeah, slandering a customer is really juvenile. I bet your feelings would be different if someone was calling you a greedy liar and posting your purchasing transactions and real name on the internet.

The OP purchased, what, TEN?

I'm sure she's a billionaire by now, with that level of resale!!

Silly, silly, silly for KP and that store to get all bent out of shape over this.

Wait.

Let me get this clear.

Seller was selling two stamp sets for $5.00 or so dollars above what she paid to cover shipping?

Is that was all this rigamaroll is about?

Congrats to KP and PT for making complete fools of themselves.

Because I was here for the Donna Downey debacle and I've been reading these boards for years, this is what I visualize the peas doing after reading this thread:

Peas waiting patiently in their lawn chairs on the side of the road. General chatter about prom pictures and what's for dinner ensues. A few near misses elicit some excitement from the crowd, but they soon realize it was nothing. More talk about powder vs liquid laundry detergent.

Then finally. The moment everyone has been waiting to pounce on:

Screech, Bam, Crash

"Yes! Finally! Holy crap, We've been waiting so long for this. Get out of my way, I can't see! I was here first!"

After some pushing and shoving, one pea stands up and declares "Everyone calm down there's enough carnage to go around."

Peas rearrange their lawn chairs to get the best possible view. Some folks are barbequing getting ready for the long haul while others are just passing through to see what happened.

"I have binoculars if anyone wants to use them. My brother is a lawyer and I think someone could go to jail over this. Oh my gosh, I think that person is on her last breath. I'll go start digging the grave now. MOVE over, I can't see. I'm so excited. I know this is even better than the last crash. Does anyone have any more popcorn.

Soon things die down. People start to trail away except for those who stay until the last ambulance pulls away.

"That was sure fun. I can't wait for the next one."

Well, scrapintheday, you may have been around enough to see that happen BUT if you have been around that long, then why only 3 posts? And on this thread? Also, you should know that the Peas have very long memories and some keep spreadsheets. Purchases will NOT be made based on some of the happenings on this board.

Because normally I just sit back and read. I'm an observer of human nature. I couldn't resist posting this time because I find more to write about over the excitement and passion the peas exhibit over a crash more than the subject itself. And yes, I'm well aware that the peas have excitedly exclaimed that they have the memory of an elephant among other things.

Wowsers-- stores responding to Americas free market, designers calling people out by real names >>and we wonder why brick and mortar stores are closing rapidly!!

This whole thread is a pitiful shame...I for one will be holding my wallet-- there are plenty of other places to spend my $

And seriously there is enough gossip to warrant a smack blog anymore???

I just want to say that KP and PT should read a few books by Brene Brown. There has been so much shaming and name calling that you should really sit back and think about how you have effected a community that is struggling at the moment. All of this should have been addressed behind the scenes and no one would have been the wiser.

OP You have purchased from me in the past and you are good in my mind.

I think a few people posting here should be issuing an apology to the OP; namely Kelly Purkey and the owner of Paper Tales. I had no idea that a store owner would frown upon a volume sale like this, and frankly, I don't get it. Is it the price she is asking that has you so tweaked?

I will second this. I feel terrible for the OP that she was treated the way she was by KP and PT.

Foolishly, I'm still amazed at the level of ignorance from scrapbook "professionals" - store owners, designers, & manufacturers alike; it's a miracle the scrapbooking industry still exists!

IMHO the retailer should accept the return of all 6 sets & completely reimburse the OP (i.e. total price of the sets & shipping both ways). Both the retailer & "designer" (who arranged 8 mini clear stamps of basic clipart & typography on a 1x6" strip) should issue public apologies to the OP; contrary to their arrogant, self-righteous, & condescending responses on this thread, neither are above reproach!

Well, I wouldn't say 'whipped it up'. It did require some time and careful planning. I just can't whip it, whip it good that quickly to my satisfaction.

However, I may be offering it up as a printable. Waiting to see the results from someone who's going to do it. I don't feel like hauling out my printer. (It resides under the bed - we don't have a place to keep it out.) The original file size is larger than the image I posted here.

I also have Texas done and Florida in the works. All depends on what the result is before I put it out there.

I bet someone with a Theresa Collins stamp maker machine can turn Kaleidescope's images into actual stamps.

I actually sent Kalei a picture of the Teresa Collins machine last night and told her she could go into business but she didn't want to spend that much!

I ALMOST bought one here on FSOT from a pea about 3 years ago but couldn't justify spending the money since I knew my job wasn't going to last much longer. If it really worked well and I could continue to get the stamp packs, I would have loved to have gotten the machine.

I don't know about where the OP lives but here that is a violiation of federal privacy laws. Publically naming the OP and telling her order could be enough to file a complaint. Wonder if having to spend money on legal bills associated with a complaint would make them realize the value of an appology.

Kalei, I actually like your version better, and the great thing about photoshop is you can size and recolor it to fit your needs.

That's all the so called "designers" do work it up in photoshop from some image they pulled off the net. You don't think KP actually drew that map of CA do you?

That's interesting. I don't understand what it means though.
For example, the 'soft plastic cover'. 1 mil or 4 mil.
And do I understand right? An 8 x 12 sheet of stamps for the listed price? (which they say are 8 x 12 plates - so the sheet itself may be smaller, but am I getting the gist of it?)

I think that is just the plastic covering they put over the stamps, for instance CD uses a "soft plastic cover", SC would use the 4mil cover.

You could make a bundle starting your own stamp design company!

Those stamps were not sold to you by Paper Tales for you to resell and make a profit from - how disappointing.
Really? How professional!

It is unethical to resell them at a much higher price
On what planet is $5.00 profit sooooo unethical?

I seriously would rather lick a stripper pole than buy KP from PT!

OMG. Kelley Purkey and Paper Tales deserve whatever business hell they descend to with their "stellar" business practices. Just when you think you've seen it all, something like this comes along.

Kelley you sold your stamps to Paper Tales, end of story. None of your business who they sell them to.

Paper Tales, you sold the stamps to the OP. None of your business what she does with them. You, you greedy money-grubbing entity, gladly took her money and made your profit. It's none of your business what she does with them.

It really isn't difficult to grasp the basic concepts of business. If you can't behave like adults engaged in business transactions, then I recommend taking your Barbies and going home...

Cheers,
Elaine
