Cindi, you will crack up when you get my kit! It's typical CaribbeanGirl....all over the place and in no particular direction I couldn't figure out what I wanted to work with this month so the envelope is full of goodies

I put Neysa's kit out for pick-up. It's going to be a 'challenge' for both of us, but I have faith in each of us to stretch ourselves.

CaribbeanGirl, now I really can't wait to get my envelope! Thanks for squeezing it in to your busy day!

Heidi, I dropped your envie at the post office last night so it should have gone out this morning. I wanted to play with our kit yesterday ... but I got sidetracked watching youtube videos about altered tickets . I need to stop watching and start playing!

I hope the PO is on the ball this month. We love our happy mail!

Neysa's envie was picked up & is on its way to her.

A reminder to all our players... Don't forget to stop by & say more than "JCI" each week in June. Although it's a requirement, we hope y'all will want to.

LOL, Cindi! I haven't given much thought to what I'll do for the ticket project--still trying to finish up my entry for my WSW14 challenge. I might wait to see what's in my kit from SWL & I'm definitely looking to see what inspiration I garner from WSW14.

Speaking of received kits... What do you do when you get yours? Do you separate the contents into parts or what? Inquiring minds (well mine) want to know.

Morning everyone!! I leave everything together at first. When I start working with the kit I do separate everything to get ideas on how I want to pursue it Then after the month is over and I'm finished working with a specific kit, I combine what's left with the rest of my KIAE goodies from previous months

Good morning CG, and now Good night!

Tonight I finished a project from my kept kit and used one of my altered tickets on it.

It took me a little while to figure out how to incorporate my altered tickets in to a card. I couldn't leave the ticket strip as a stand alone project for KIAE because I didn't use three items from the kit on them. Otherwise, could I have? If our tickets use 3 items from the kit, can one of our projects be the altered tickets? Or if I altered a strip of 5 tickets (I did), then would that have counted as 5 items? Or one strip? I wasn't sure, so I made a card that uses 3 items from my kit, 1 item being an altered ticket.

I looked for projects using altered tickets and only found two, Heidi's card and a card by Anna-Karin. I love them both, but they just didn't fit my project this time. Does anyone have any good card sketches incorporating tickets?

I'll post my project soon. I'm getting antsy ... hasn't anyone received their KIAE's yet? Anyone playing with their kept kits? Still making kits? Can't wait to see some pictures!

As long as you use three items from your kit on a single altered ticket or on a strip of tickets, it would absolutely count as one of your projects

Here's a card I made awhile back using a ticket. It's not an altered ticket, but it might give you an idea

Card with Ticket

You better be stalking your mailman! My kit should be there anytime now. I can't wait to see what you choose to create with first Be afraid! Be very afraid!

I decided to go ahead and post my project from my kept kit. It only uses 3 things from the kit and there's lots more in the envelope to surprise Heidi.

I altered a ticket from the kit and tied it around a jar.
You can see my card here

For more details on my altered ticket

look here

Thanks CG for the altered ticket requirement. It gave me the push I needed to give them a try. I'm sure I'll be making some more!

Thank you! I am going to make room to play this weekend!

Thanks Heidi! Good to know! You have a peamail with a link to the stamp company.

The image Heidi is referring to is made by Deep Red Stamps. I just recently found them. They also make the Honey Bee Label on my kept kit project. They are made in the USA, deep red rubber (of course) and come cling mounted to a small stamp storage sheet with the image printed on it.

Cindi. TFS the piano girl. It would be a hoot to turn her piano stool into a big black spider for her to sit on.

Here is my first project from my recieved kit. The image is so fun to color. I wish I had colored a "floor" underneath the girl. Maybe I will try that with the other image.

I think I am going to buy this stamp. Lots of musical people in my family would like the image.

I am on my way out to do some shopping at some local thrift stores. Hoping to find a book in French that is ripe for scrapping.

Thanks,
Neysa

Heidi, I love the card you made from my kit! You mentioned adding a floor ... I haven't colored that image yet, it's brand new (to me)... but I notice the piano legs don't go all the way to the floor. I'm not sure what would happen if you tried to color a floor. Would the piano look like it was floating? Maybe just a shadow under the stool?, Draw in the rest of the piano leg by hand? We'll have to play around with Piano Solo some more!

Yes, part of the issue was the piano leg not going all the way, but the stool did. Yes, i think a shadow under the stool might have added the "grounding" that I thought might be missing. I need to play with my pencils more to find what color would be good for a shadow. I've only had them for a week.

And thank you for the kind compliment

Can't tell you how much I'm enjoying the continued 'chatter' on this month's thread.

Have to do an LOL on the one about Heidi's 'piano girl' piece & its 'grounding'.

Most times I hit the blog first & praise/comment on new entries. That means I may miss conversation on the thread. Such is the case with Heidi's wonderful (no smoke-blowing) entry from Cindi's kit.

I, too, found myself thinking that it would be interesting to see a 'horizon' line on the stamped image. And the lack of extended piano legs? I don't mind them. But I could extend them with a pen.

Which leads me to ask my fellow swappers... Do you like to alter the stamped images you have in your kits--kept & received?

While we're chatting... If you have shared a 3-item from either kit prior to the start of WSW14, I believe it's 'kosher' to use less-than-three kit item for any WSW14 challenge & still link it to this month's blog/thread.

Haven't discussed this with April, so watch this thread to see if her 'take' differs. This month she is the 'grand poobah'.

April, you have a new title! I hope you have an appropriate hat to wear!

I like to see what people do with their kits; required projects, and extra projects that may or may not use "3 items". So I'm hoping people will continue to link here through WSW if they use a kit too, even if it doesn't warrant checking the KIAE challenge box.

Here is my 2nd KIAE project,
May all your dreams come true , made from Caribbean Girl's kit. I had fun making it because I can't remember the last time I made a "little girl" card. As I stated in my gallery post, the tulle April sent in the kit was just what I needed to add some sparkle. Thanks April, there are a lot more goodies in the envelope! (Can you tell me who makes the images I used?)

Daniel that is funny we came to the conclusion about the floor separately. Although I am doing better with coloring, I am still a bit of a newbie and I didn't want to ruin a perfectly good project by experimenting with the floor. That is what the other image will be for.

I really need to start to work on my projects. We are house hunting and it's quite stressful and time consuming Yesterday I had the day to myself thanks to my Dad, so I finished up a swap from another board and my June tag

Neysa, I love my Prima dolls too. They are some of my favorite stamps

Sorry to hear your Internet access is sporadic, Neysa. Hoping my kit for you arrives soon. I mailed it before the tag one to April. Odd how fast/slow our mail is, but such is life.

Veronica & April. Cool that the envelope got there so quickly. I'm not familiar with the way some of the tech works with 2Ps, but if you cannot link to the swap blog, I'm sure 'Poobah' will accept linking to this thread. As hosts, we're pretty flexible.

Kathy (SWL). Can't wait to see what you sent. Sounds like I'll have some fun stuff to play with.

Now that SWLady has received my kit I will post the project I made from it over the weekend. I was having trouble coming up with a design so I "borrowed" an idea from a blog post on yourstrulybydiana.blogspot.com (I want to make sure to give her proper credit.) She has lots of cute cards on the blog.

It's time to get going on my received kit and make something with tickets! I got a great kit from Heidi.

Kathy! I am still ooh-ing & awe-ing over all the goodies you provided. Wisconsin may be the cheese capital, but there's nothing cheesey about you or your kit. Gonna have me some fun with these treasures.
