I know there are tons of posts for December Daily but I didn't find one on what pictures everyone will be including in their album. So how about we start a thread with a list.
These are in no particular order
- at the tree farm getting our tree
- decorating/decorated tree
- annual family outing to get new piece of nativity
- nativity set up
- downtown tree
- cookie baking
- of course snow
- Christmas movie night
- work Christmas party
- work decorated
- shopping
- Christmas Eve gathering
- Christmas day
I know that some pictures will be on the fly so to speak but I like some ideas of what to take. Add your list!!

This is a great thread. I have not done a DD before so I am going to keep an eye on this and get some great ideas!
I have a few pics/pages I am going to include one of them is a page about our nativity scene- it is kind of mismatched but special. It is the leftovers from sets that our families used when we were kids.
Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with |

We always do a service project. Some do Christmas Tree Angels or volunteer in some way.
I always do photos of school events, too.
And nature has been a big part of my dd's over the years. I like photographing a few red cardinals as they sit on the bare gray branches, the holly bushes, any particularly stunning sunsets with bare trees as silhouettes, birds at the feeders, etc.

So far on the calendar:
--Thanksgiving
--Black Friday (pics of stores/crowds/items/funny things that happen), ---Decorating Day (pics of starting to decorate not just the decorations but the mess of tubs and boxes before and after)
Then to December event pictures....
--Tree lighting event in our town
--craft fair
--A market holiday open house, dinner and Gallery hop night - we're making that a date night.
--Shopping trip - 2 days with friends
--Our anniversary
--Holiday crop at LSS
--An outdoor event with our dog - walk along the creek while still daylight, and walk back as it's getting dark to see the lights. We'll do this one the first evening that's nice/not too cold. I want to try to get some good dog pictures that evening.
--Christmas Day at home
--Whatever other holiday visiting we do, whenever we do it
--hockey
--our dog at his weekly class (and maybe at a rally trial, if we can get it scheduled)
General pics I want to remember to add:
--sending cards
--some decorations/special stories about them
--Any crafts or special foods I make
--Work events
--My final Debbie Macomber Cedar Cove book (it's the last book in the series and it's a Christmas book).
--Something about music (pic of the radio or a CD or something)
--shopping traffic (from inside the car)
--dog outside in the first big snow and/or dog park in snow
--the car packed with presents on the way to visit people

I was very sick last year and didn't even put up a tree. I know, right! Anyway, already have the Chritmas music rockin' and December Daily stuff pulled out and almost ready to start assembling. Trying to do it with supplies I have on hand and not buying ANYTHING! Ugh. On to the list. I want to document:
*favorite ornaments
*favorite Christmas dvds
*favorite Christmas books
*Snap of the tv screen when Charlie Brown Christmas, Rudolph and Grinch come on
*baking cookies
*some shopping receipts (both for food and gifts)Think it will be interesting to see the prices in 10 years or so
*And of course my grandson doing anything Christmasey. (Is that a word?)

Mine will be going from about Thanksgiving (on or the day after) through New Years. Some random things on my list of things to include in my December Daily are:
Decorating the trees (we put up three in our house plus a little 4' one in my DD's room.
Special ornaments and the story behind them (for the days I have nothing else going on)
Our lighted Christmas village from Penney's
advent calendar
The outside of the house decorated
Any snowy days we may get.
My DD singing in the choir during light up night downtown.
The Christmas concert at school (another choir event).
Christmas shopping - not sure how I'll go about that one yet.
different school events - Santa's workshop (if I have time to volunteer that is, I'm usually too busy with everything else) and
Breakfast with Santa or whatever Christmas party type thing they do in the classroom at DD's school (things are different this year so I'm not sure how they're doing Christmas - it was always a party before).
Any other school happenings.
My DD sipping hot cocoa - with a candy cane in the cup for added Christmasy effect. lol! I did a whole layout last year like that. Turned out cute. Especially with the Christmas tree in the background from the dining room.
My dogs
My DD sleeping
In Christmas jammies sitting in front of the Christmas tree.
wrapped presents
picture of rolls of wrapping paper I'm using. Maybe some punched out samples (squares). One or the other. Maybe both.
The pile of addressed Christmas cards I'm sending out this year - maybe my Christmas card list too.
Maybe pictures of different Christmas cards we get in the mail
The decorated cupcakes from the bakery that I'll be sending in for DD's birthday for her class before they go on Christmas break.
My DD's birthday
Baking cookies and making other holiday treats
My husband hanging up lights or garland.
The Christmas card (picture) we'll send out this year. I need to get busy with that here soon come to think of it.
My DH and I usually go out to lunch together at least once during the season while Christmas shopping. I'll somehow get a picture of that real quick when he's not looking. lol!
Newspaper or tv headlines about the weather. Maybe we'll get lucky enough to get a snowstorm... Great scrapbooking material. lol!
More than likely though, we'll have a 2 hour delay for school due to freezing temperatures. I'll take a pic of that as it rolls across the tv screen. We had more than a few of those last Dec.
my DH shoveling snow. Hoping to get a snow blower this year.
My DD's annual letter to Santa and the milk, cookies and carrot for the reindeer that she puts out every Christmas Eve.
Christmas morning
My DD playing with her new toys
The dogs and their new doggy Christmas stockings - maybe with their heads inside the stocking trying to get to the rawhide bone that Santa will bring them.
My DD on the phone with her Nana who's livin' it up in FL since we won't be spending any holidays together this year.
Moving on to happier stuff....
Maybe me cooking Christmas dinner.
Watching Christmas movies together, eating popcorn
Treat bags or whatever I come up with for DD's class for Christmas - maybe a picture of DD helping me put the treat bags together beforehand.
Oooh - one of my very favorites - My husband and DD holding a lit candle in church on Christmas Eve as we sing "Silent Night". So soo pretty...
My DD in her Christmas dress on Christmas Eve. Close-up of her new pretty glittery gold shoes.
Watching for Santa on Norad on the computer - seeing where he is in the world.
My DD opening the e-mail from Santa that has her picture and everything on Christmas Eve.
All the different trees decorated (living room, family room and dining room (gingerbread men).
Our stockings all hung up waiting for Santa.
The dining room decorated for Christmas - we have the skinny tree with gingerbread ornaments in the one corner - the dining room table with Christmas place mats and table runner, I'll probably buy a poinsettia again this year for the centerpiece or maybe put a poinsettia on the counter where the breakfast bar is. And then there's our hutch with the Christmas village. And the light above the table gets decorated with greenery and red bows too.
Maybe some pictures of after-Christmas sales going on - (eh we'll see - I'm usually too broke by then. lol!)
New Years Eve - playing board games with DD. The ball coming down on TV at midnight.
If I'm not completely burned out by New Years Day - then maybe a picture of the pork roast and sauerkraut I'll be making and a list of my goals for the coming year. New Year's Eve may be my last day though. We'll see. We usually take all the Christmas stuff down on New Years. Sometimes on New Years Eve earlier in the day.
I'm sure I'll come up with more....

You ladies are fabulous - thank you for the extra ideas ----- I have done a DD for years and these new ideas will be a great addition to this years book !! My book is ready, my basket of embellies are ready , my journal pen is ready - this year I am so far ahead I know I will forget something !!
I usually have a basket with the pages already in it with embellies so each day I can choose a page , add the photo and journal on the spot - if I miss a day or two ( sometimes three ) no worries, just sit down with an eggnog latte and catch up - last year I took it all to Starbucks and had a peaceful and productive 2 hour break from the hustle and bustle - LOVED IT !!!

Not a picture but an item: This week in the mail I got a flyer from home depot garden club. Imprinted on the front is "Rebecca, get your home ready for the holidays." I love that it came pre-printed with my name and instantly thought it has to go in my DD.
So watch your junk postal mail - maybe you'll get one, too. |

It's my son's 1st year away at college, so I will be putting together holiday care packages - some decorations and holiday treats - which I'll be taking photos of for the DD. I hope he'll take a photo of his 1st tree in his apartment and text it to me too. He may not be living under the same roof, but he's gonna be part of our family DD no matter where he lives |

Great posts!
I've been him-hawing on this topic as I want to include Halloween (we are big into HW), Thanksgiving, and New Year's.
Thought about calling it Holiday Happiness.
Is it too bizarre to include fav pics from years past? When I was a teen, our youth group lined the entire top of our church with luminarios (which they can't do anymore) and it's an absolute fav pic....along with our first year living south of Houston and DH getting mosquito bitten while putting up lights, and our 3 young kids in front of the tree - and the youngest is bawling!

I am so inspired by everyone. I have decided to start mine on December 1st. Really excited. Between my "Thankful For..." Album I decided to do for the month of November and this I set. With all the holiday get togethers it will be nice to have something small and simple to work on. |

I just started reading about December Dailies. They look like so much fun! Saving this list and hoping I'm motivated enough to start and finish one. Thanks for all the great suggestions. |
