Welcome to the Young Scrappers thread for September 2012!
Who are the Young Scrappers? We are a group of "young" 20-something to 30-something year old girls who created a group to share our interest in scrapbooking! We take the "young" part lightly - it's all about how young you feel. Feel free to join in the chat! Just post an intro so we know who you are. And post links to your layouts here - we love to share our work & leave some praise!
We have something new going on this month - a special challenge!
The goal is to complete 29 layouts before the end of the year. The challenges are a way to give you a kick start on those layouts!

Here are the guidelines:
1. Complete as many of the 29 challenges as you can before the end of the year - December 31, 2012.
2. You can complete them in any order but no combining challenges.
3. Upload each layout to the gallery and make sure to check the challenge checkbox on the 4th step of the upload process.
Each month, one person will be the hostess to guide us along on the journey! This month it is Rachel Here is what she has to say:

Happy Sept everyone!!!! Yay!!!
Hopefully the humidity will go away and it will stay in the 80's until Thanksgiving. HHAHAHAHAA yea right! It's the swamps of Houston!
Anyway... I love this! I have so many things I need to start scrapping again. I've been focusing more on cards the past few years so I have ALOT to catch up on!!!
I don't think I can get any scrapping in today, but maybe I can go over to my buddies house tomorrow and do a little something in her awesome art room!!! |

Monica, i forgot to comment about your comment about canning. (hehe, did that makes sense?) It's not as hard as you think, and yes you need equipment but it's not hard and the expense is worth it! (though, I just work with my mom on it every year) I'll take some pics today. Stay tuned on instagram.

Okay, I am finally done with the photo prep stage. I'm ordering 99 4x6 prints from snapfish. They are having a deal and just in time for me. But I won't have to wait for that order I've got 3 or 4 sets of pictures to scrap in the meantime. I'm done for today though, so maybe I'll join more of you Monday? Or should I stay up late tonight?

argh, my day just has not gone as planned. I was hoping for a quick run to the hospital and then home to scrap the day away, but everything took longer than I thought. Blah. And Miss Sophia is so precious that I just couldn't let her go!! I got to feed her and hold her a lot today
Sooo I vote for a late night scrap party!!
Is anyone around? I am working on a layout. Just gotta finish making dinner (I'm making eggplant parmesan for the first time) and then I'm free the rest of the night! And all day tomorrow, too. |

I finished the layout that's been on my desk for a week. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out....
My new niece should be here by Monday. My sis-in-law is being induced tonight.

Elizabeth: Welcome!! I am Rachel, 27, live in North Carolina. Married with a cat, Eureka. Due to have our first baby Sept 8!!
With the challenges, you do not have to wait for them to be posted weekly. The weekly focus is just to encourage those of us who might have limited time to scrap to complete at least one a week!
We are staying in the new house tonight for the first time. It is so strange and exciting!! |

Elizabeth- Isn't Norman close to the Kansas border? For the challenges, you can do them in whatever order you want and however many you want! The monthly "focus" ones are just for added inspiration.

My husband's birthday is the 8th. Congratulations on your first. What are you having? Get all your crafting in now because when the doctor places that baby in your arms your heart is going to melt. I would be too busy stealing kisses all day instead of scrap booking even though my youngest is 2 and oldest turns 5 on the 18th I still load up on all my kisses when I can. |

Btw I am 27 forgot to throw that out. Turn 28 in January and it's sad bc I remember being 22 with a little baby. Now I'm 27 with two bundles and 6 years under my belt. Time flies when your making memories. Thanks everyone for the intro and I hope to get to know you all. Hope everyone stays motivated tonight if you're up crafting. I finished my layout, finally. It must be slow scrapping night or something!
Elizabeth- That is exactly how I felt with my cousin's newborn today! She's not even my baby, but I am so in love I didn't want to quit holding her! I must be getting my Oklahoma cities mixed up. I can't imagine moving from New York to Oklahoma... poor you! LOL. I'm so ready to get out of the midwest... a lot of my family is on the west coast, so that is where I am hoping to end up within the next few years.
oh, and I'm feeling old this year, too. I turn 27 in 2 months... ahhh! Seems like just yesterday I was so excited about being 21 finally. |

wow really chatty yesterday girls !!!
September is here, fall is going to start so soon, and I have the feeling we don't really had a summer in London.... (this country has a serious depressing weather...)
@Loni : Unfortunatelly I don't have the money to follow the class (I am still waiting for the bank to transfer my parents money for july and august....) and uni starts really soon and it is SO expensive...
Anyway, I wish I could have taken the class, but I might cheat a bit, if you girls don't mind, and will follow your instagram lists !
@Lizzie : lucky you to have a friend with an amazing craftroom. I should try to be closer to Shimelle !! She might let me craft with her !! (ha ha I am still dreaming...)

@caro: i was just about to say the same thing about the weather! can't remember it being this bad in ages, we usually get at least a little bit of warmth! i guess it feels worse as i havent being away this year to top up on some sun

@rachel: whatever you have you'll love to pieces and I warned you about all the suga that baby will get. Keep us posted. I love love love babies and can't wait for my third.
@Caro: my hubby goes to London in Oct for business. So jealous bc I want to go, but have no one to watch my girls oh well one day. And my daughter love the Eiffel tower. One day I'll take her to see it.
Okay so on to scrapping I am just getting up and hope to at least get my area cleaned and figure out what layout I want to complete. I might do a scrap lift since I am loving all my bookmarks. Happy scrapping today ladies and if I don't chat much today it's because my girls are moody this weekend. Lol drama between sisters. Wish me luck. |

Morning girls!
I'm just now getting up and at 'em... it felt so good to sleep in after a busy few days! I made my health smoothie and some blueberry waffles from Trader Joes, caught up on email & message boards, now I'm ready to get my scrap on!
I'll be scrapping the ENTIRE day away. Anyone going to be around?
Rachel- Funny, I was thinking you guys already knew you were having a boy. What was I thinking??
Caro- I'll take pics of my 2 layouts in a bit! That really sucks about having to rewrite your essay Makes me glad I don't have to deal with school stuff like that for the time being!

Monica: Still lacking a crib, but we have a bassinet for the interim. My grandmother's bassinet. And then maybe a rocker or glider...I have some more art to hang and need to hang the mobile.

Hi ladies, having the perfect Sunday in Galway. Came here with my mum on a one night mini break. Checked out the city and had some brunch earlier. Came back to the hotel to use leisure facilities and just woke from an impromptu nap. Total bliss

I think I'll scrap a bit today too. I already have 1 LO done (the scraplift one), one is more than half completed, i just have to punch out a ridiculous number of small hearts and then adhere them to the page. I'm trying to get as much as I can done now, so when school starts up on Wednesday I don't have to freak out about how many LOs I still have to do.
Welcome to the new ladies! My name is Christina, I live in Canada, go to university (it's my second year), no pets unfortunately, 1 little brother, a long distance boyfriend and I play volleyball! And I also work at a restaurant and at summer dance camps Hopefully you can join us for our challenge list! I would love to see all the new layouts we'll start churning out!

Caro, I have two desks. It starts out really good and then your scrap stuff slowly starts to overtake the other one until you just have two scrap desks. I think I need to reorganize.

Rachel I am in love with Thomas for a boy name. It's perfect bc it's been in my DH's family a long while. My daughters name is Lailani Loke and oldest is Glorianna Naomi- Marie. Hope you have fun picking a name and working on the nursery. Let me know if you are looking to buy any clothes once you find out what ur having. I have a ton for sale Gymboree, Janie and jack and gap among non name brand. Boys and girls. Pm me if interested.
I cleaned my area which there is no table. I use the dinner table and it's getting old for sure. Hoping to get started crafting now since kids are having popcorn and a movie. |

Rachel- aww, that's awesome that you have your grandma's bassinet! I'm sure that will be fine for now.
Caroline- wow, that does sound like total bliss. Lucky! Enjoy the rest of your day.
Christina- yay for scrapping! An art gallery/dinner night sounds like fun for your birthday. We have a thing here call First Fridays that is an art walk type of thing. I love it. Smoothies - I'm still experimenting with it! The one I've been making lately has Bolthouse "Green Goodness" juice, coconut milk, yogurt, blueberries, peaches, and a bit of ice.

Hello again!! I am not scrapping yet, but I am organizing my new craft room. It became the catchall spot yesterday for things whose homes had yet to be determined. So now I am working on that area of the house while Ryan puts on new shower heads and toilet seats.
I think I had a real contraction earlier, but since this is my first time...I dunno! |
