"Dear mom,
I love you! You're the best mom ever! Thank you for folding my laundry that I forgot about. Oops!
Love you!
Gabe"

Now how in the world do you have a bad day after finding that I really love that boy! What a lucky mom I am!!

That is so wonderful. Nice job raising a thoughtful kid mom!

I had a similar experience earlier this week! After a lousy day at work and some early evening running around, I came home to a bath and a candle with a sweet note from my son thanking me for all I do- and the note indicated he hadn't lit the candle so he wouldn't burn the house down

Awww. I love stories about thoughtful kids!! Especially boys cause I have one

I'm gonna share a story too. My 18 yr old son is in college now. Only about 1/2 hour away though. A couple of weeks ago I was supposed to bring his diploma and Eagle Scout certificate to work with me so his girlfriend could pick them up. Well, I forgot, he wasnt upset at all. He drove home to get them. When I got home from work I realized that while he was home he washed the few dishes I had in the sink and he swept and swiffered the kitchen! What a great kid!!!

That is just awesome. I know that it really would have warmed my heart.

Just have to mention that I've been home recovering from back surgery. Somewhere during the six weeks I couldn't drive, my 23 year old son told me that he would wash my car the day I could drive. Yesterday was that day. When his work day was over, here he was asking for my keys to back my car out of the garage and give it the cleaning he promised. Made my day extra happy. Six weeks is a long time to have to rely on people to take you places.

Congrats on having such a great son!

Don't those moments make it all worthwhile? Last week I had a horrendous week at work and then got the nasty bug going around school. I dragged myself home after my usual 12 hour day about a hairs-breadth away from a full blown crying jag and DS15 asked if I wanted him to make me some mac and cheese - his comfort food.

One of those single mom moments that make me realize how lucky I am.
