Hi! Besides being new to the forum I'm also new to scrapbooking. I started digital scrapbooking this year and I love that, but I want to do a December Daily. Thing is I'm not sure what size album I should start with anyone have any suggestions or opinions?

I always have tons of pics, so I'm using 8.5x11.

I'm doing a 5x7. Anything bigger than that and I won't be able to keep up with it.

I'm a fan of the 6x8.

I find it big enough to include multiple photos on a day if I choose, while also not being too much space to try and fill on a daily basis.

I'm also going with the Simple Stories 6x8. Love the different style page protectors so I can include an extra insert if I feel I need more room for pictures.

Last year was my first doing a DD. I did 8 1/2 x 11 last year but found it a bit too big. I'm going to do an 8x8 this year.

I have the 6x8 Simple Stories binder for my Project Life and I love it. Great size for a December Daily and love the variety for the protector pages.

I'm usually an 8.5x11 scrapper, and last year I did that as well for DD. I rarely took more than one photo a day, but filled the album with programs, journaling, etc. But this year I'm trying 8x8 - big enough for a 4x6 photo and a 4x6 journaling card. Especially since I may have fewer layouts (I'm planning on doing it by category - ie, foods, decorations, events, etc) I wanted something smaller. My only worry is brochures/programs, but I think I can make it work.

I ordered an album months ago during a sale - I swear it was a We R Memory Keeprs 3 ring, but checking that size doesn't seem to exist at any stores any more? Either I'm missing it, or they discontinued it, or I actually bought at 6x6, oops.

I totally agree with delaniemw- I'm using a 6x8 album I'm making myself. I think it's the perfect size. I can use an instagram, 2 instax photos, 2 3x4 photos, so many possibilities for all my photo taking options. Plus I like the way it looks- not too big and not too small- just right!

I have done 8X8 and another size which guessing now would have been about 7X4ish. Just last night a light bulb went off. I only have one kiddo at home now, but the other two will be home from college. So I might do something noting the change of our household.

ANYWAY, I have just ordered some album pages that are from Pink Paislee and the size is 4X8. I can easily cut out CB covers for those and cover with my last years OA Winter line 8X8 pad that I never used. There are 5 pages in the refill and I can add to it with other things in my stash.

I did 6x8 last year and plan to do that again. If I can find an album to purchase at that size! Hoping to get one from Simple Stories as well, but can't find them online anywhere yet.

Since you are a digital scrapbooker, and new to it, you may not know that each year Ali Edwards releases digital templates for her December Daily. You can see last year's here. She hasn't released this year's yet, but will at some point.

I loved working with her templates! I then combined them with paper to create a hybrid album. Feel free to take a look if you are interested in ideas. You can see my album here.

Even before I saw the SC AE album in 4x6, I had decided to do a 4x6 album so I could keep it in my purse and take it to work with me and journal through the day and keep up with it better. I have done 6x12 and 6x8 and 8.5x11 and I just wanted to try something smaller this year. I am thinking that also a 5x7 would work well too.

Monica your album is lovely, thank you for sharing it. Thanks for all the replies too, I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks smaller is better

A shout-out to Jamie: It would be really nice to have a December Daily/Journal Your Christmas Forum. That way all the threads are together and people can see what questions have already been asked. I'd love to have a one-stop shop! Just a thought.....

I'm leaning towards the 6x8 again. I have to limit myself picture wise though. Last year my album was literally bursting. I'm thinking more Ali style this year without so much bulk. I will also be pre planning a set layout and doing due cutting ahead of time.

I did my first one last year and I did a 6X6 - I really liked that size,, it gave me enough room for photos and some journalling. I just blogged my DD from last year this morning! Here is a link if you want to check it out.
