How about for the first month, we each choose whatever Christmas or holiday themed cart/carts we have and post a project involving those? Remember to link your project and tell us what cartridge you used. |

Does it have to be a Christmas cartridge? Because I have done a couple of layouts that are Christmas themes, but I used non-Christmas carts. The links are directly to the blog posts with those layouts, and they include the info on which cartridges I used.
My first one is a two page layout:
First Christmas baby page
And here is a layout that I did for the LSS for the Santa photo shoot. It's a one page, one photo layout:

Yay. I went through my holiday carts the other day, trying to find Christmas trees to add to my DD. Of course that also meant a little scrappy shopping, which led to the discovery that my local ACM carries Pow glitter paper. I can't wait to run it through my big; it seems like it will be the perfect weight.

well that work out perfectly as I'm currently working on couple Christmas pictures--I am just debating if i want to do those pictures for my yearly album which is 12 x 12 or do them for 8 x 8 as pre-Dec daily as friends and family album.. I just can't decide yet...

Ooh, those are so pretty and not super complicated, so I could make them.
CCR is having two Christmas/Holiday bundles on their site. Basic is $19.99 for 60 days and Deluxe is $29.99. I think that's right. You are just renting the images, not getting the carts, but it's a great way to try out carts or just get more variety in your projects. They've done this for Halloween and maybe Thanksgiving.

Does it have to be a Christmas cartridge?
Not at all! As a matter of fact, that will be VERY helpful for those of us who have no Christmas carts! |

I created this using Heritage and Paper Doll Dress Up (the sleigh) in Design Studio. The horse is attached to a buggy though, so I had to cut them apart by hand.

This is a layout I did several years ago. The title font is from Jasmine. I turned the F because I didn't like the backwards looks it has.

I don't have pictures to share, but last Friday I helped a friend make an advent calendar using the CTMH advent calendar "box" and little drawers cut with my Artiste cartridge from the new Christmas K&Co line. It turned out SUPER cute, and her boys (5.5 & 2.5) are going to LOVE it!

I like streetlamps - need to make some cards with them. Heritage has 2 kinds. |

Great idea!
I used my Cricut and Gypsy this month to make faux wood veneers. I talked about how I did it on a blog post here ).
It cut the veneer paper really well, especially for a first time experiment! I've since inked the edges of some of these shapes, so they look more like the real deal.
I also cut the same shapes and polaroid frames in different colors and regular cardstock to either layer to make the veneers more dimensional or to use on their own in my DD - I just didn't take a picture of those.
I plan to make more polaroid cutouts, just haven't had a chance yet. Welding the pieces together was actually pretty easy - just a rectangle, a box for the inside, and some shape to weld into the negative space.
ETA: I'll check the carts when I get home. I don't have a lot, so they're probably all from the same cart. |
