I was just writing up a blog post on a recent page using ink droplets and my never ending pursuit (and frustration) with not creating the look I'm trying to capture. It occurred to me, maybe it's WHEN I add the droplets to my pages. I ALWAYS add my droplets once my page is completed, so I know what color I'm going to use and where I want to put them, but perhaps that is my issue??
Do you add your droplets before or after you've completed your pages? |

I'm always adding the droplets before. On the cardstock, before I add anything else. Just to be safe.

I always think at the end of the process that my page could benefit from some ink droplets.. haha. I wish I could do it at the beginning, but it never works out that way! |

I have done it both ways but prefer to add mine after my layout is completed.

Both.
I prefer to do it in the beginning because I have messed up more than one layout by doing it after. Nothing that isn't fixable with a little cutting and rearranging, but it's stressful nonetheless. |

I love misting and ink dropping. I typically do that at the start of a page but there are a few times that I finish a layout and think that it needs some ink drops and add them in later. When I do decide to add mist or ink after finishing the layout, I use scrap paper to cover up my photos and anything else I don't want colour on. It works well for me.

I lay out my page... find where things are going... remove them and add drops. Reassemble. |

If you want to add a bit at the end I have found that 'post-it' notes are good for covering up spaces. I have a few I use over and over again. I use the larger (3x4maybe) ones. |

I try to always add them at the start of my layout and let them dry a bit before adding anything else so I don't worry about getting anything on my photos.
but there are times when I feel like I need a little drop or so to finish a layout off. When I do that I just cover my photos with a piece of scrap paper I have laying around. |

I always add at the end of my layouts and cover my photo up. It seems to work alright. I may try doing it at the beginning.

At the beginning of my layouts when I remember to use the technique. I love the look but there have been times when I looked at the finished layout and decided it needed a little something extra and I cover up the bits I don't want ruined and "sprinkle" away! |

I tend to add mine pre-completion, in Glitter Girl style! The only problem then is I sometimes cover up more of the ink drops than I originally intended.

Does anyone have a blog, imagine, video or tutorial that shows this technique? Sounds just like the thing that might help me break out of my scrapbooking slump.

I prefer to do it in the beginning, and they are usually random I just splat ink or paint across my sheet. I have forgotten to ink it in the beginning and afterward, layed a piece of paper over the picture as a mask and covered anything else I didn't want ink on. The only problem with that is it seems like I always manage to get ink on something I didn't want ink on. So I prefer to do it in the beginning...But that's My preference
