This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for December. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas.

Please contact me with any questions.

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!

Good Morning Sweet Peas! Well I can not believe we are into December already! I am soooooo happy that we made 2 pages last month! I think we shoud try for it again this month! Come on girls I know some of you are working on cards and scrapbooking your holiday preparations and decorations. Also traditions of your family! Post them here so we can share them and get new ideas for our own. I hope to work on my page s for my JYC album I started a couple years ago. I may not get an entry for each day but try to add to it as much as possible. You have to do what works for you! I need to clean up my decorating mess this morning but hope to find time to scrap after dinner! BBL!

Nylene-Thanks so much for new holiday edition of the Pokey Peas! We sooooo appreciate what you do for us!

Hugs, Cindy

Hi, Pokeys!

Can it really be December? Our weather is warmer than usual at this time, so it doesn't seem quite like Dec. Those in CA are really getting a lot of rain. I hope you don't all float away! (and that there is no flooding in your area)

Today DH and I got to tend baby Alex while the rest of the family went to see The Forgotten Carols production. It's a 3 hour Christmas show and we loved having the baby that whole time. Earlier I finished 2 layouts. I'm really on a roll! I'll scan and post them later. I just picked up 100 prints at Costco so I have no excuse for not scrapping.

DH seems to have "turned the corner" and although he is sore and still not feeling great, I can see that he is MUCH improved. I was beginning to really worry about him. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Cindy, I agree, we can make 2 pages again this month!

Have a great weekend, and drop in when you have time. We miss you when you are away!

Happy December! I hope this day was a nice one for all of you. My day with my dh was relaxing. We really enjoyed today. It's been cloudy and rained yesterday. So this is nice cozy weather. Still moving slow but hope this month will be better and can get back to my cards. Still having the baking and crocheting bug so I will see what will happen!

Nylene- Thanks for the new thread! How lucky you were to have the sweet little baby all to yourself. I know you enjoyed that. Also, so glad your dh is doing better. I know all the love and care you all are giving him is great medicine! Is is snowing there yet?

Cindy- I still gotta go back to the last thread and see what you were up to. Glad to see you doing better and scraping up a storm.

Waving hi to everyone! Have a super day!

Look at me! I'm posting on the first day of the month!!! Sorry I have still been very absent. Things are busy here, but I have regained some of my scrappin mojo. I have made four different photo books for my family for Christmas and experimented with a cool technique to make a gift for my parents.

We are loving my brother's little girl who is now over 2 months old and anxiously awaiting the arrival of my great nephew! The kids are looking forward to Christmas break and I am tickled that I don't have to work the weekends before and after Christmas! I don't think I have skipped both weekends in 6 or 7 years!

Cindy-The blending challenge looks awesome! I love the technique, but I have definitely not mastered it yet!

Nylene-How wonderful to have your new grandbaby to yourself for a whole night!

Waving hi to everyone else!

This first one is the new technique I did with one of my parents' Alaska pics. I'm going to frame it for them for Christmas.
Alaska

I dug up some old pics of Katie for this one!
Tough

Here's one of my Anna!
Perfect

Last one! I used some really old pics of Will for this one.

Been there, done that--have the layout!

Morning Peas! So glad to see everyone checking in!

Diana-so good to see you also! I am adding to my JYC album and I am also using templates-some I have made of my own so I just attach the papers and photos and then choose my embellies! Makes it go a lot faster. I have taken several classes and learned a lot about using Photoshop.

Nylene-I know you totally enjoyed having that sweet baby for those hours. Hope you got some sweet pics also! I know he is probably growing like a weed! Also glad to hear Steve is feeling better. I know I asked my surgeon why I was feeling bad for so long-he said "Because you are 64!"

Kelly-so good to see you checking in! I have so missed seeing your smiling face and pretty cards! Hope all is well with you and the DH!

Ami-so glad to see that you had a minute to check in! We miss you but totally understand how busy you are. So glad to hear you will get to spend a little extra time with your family over the holidays.

Waving a big Hello to all who have not checked in yet this month!

Here's a page I did this morning for my JYC album.

Nylene...You are too funny, I think Daniel would of killed me if I went to the prom with them. LOL!!! I did however, drive him and his girlfriend to his friends house where they met to share the limo. He did not have a choice because here anyone under 17 1/2 has to be home by midnight but aside from that I told him and his girlfriend that I was going to take all kinds of pictures. LOL!!! I bought those from the school.

Thanks for the nice welcome Cindy. Laid back is what I need in my life right now. I scrapped a couple of pages today. It's been 11months since I've scrapped 12X12. It seems weird. I will post later. Have to clean off my big scanner before I can use it...lol It's just been a catch all for the longest...

I will probably be the resident night owl, and be posting early in the morning.

Have a good evening all.

Welcome Diana and Linda! It's so great to see you two. You are always welcome to join us....just know, we really are quite Pokey!

AMY, so glad to see you checking in, and we'll take you when we can get you! I know how busy it is with little ones at Christmas time. Come when you can. I love seeing your layouts of those adorable little faces.

Kelly, glad you had a relaxing day with DH. What things are you baking? I'm afraid if I got in a baking mood, I'd eat it all and undo all the dieting I've been doing. We've had 2 snow storms, but they melted off. Are you making Christmas Cards this year? You need to go to Diana's gallery and look at her Christmas tags she's making! They are gorgeous and I think you'd enjoy them.

Cindy, this made me laugh out loud.

I know I asked my surgeon why I was feeling bad for so long-he said "Because you are 64!"
That could have a lot to do with the slow healing around here. With the cold weather starting, I am still in pain from my last winter's fall and broken wrist. These poor old bones don't heal as quickly, do they? Glad you are getting better. When will you be able to eat all the Christmas goodies you'd like?

Linda and Diana, tell us a little about yourself so the others can get to know you. I am fortunate to have met both (+Cindy) in person and they are such fun scrappers and wonderful friends. Diana, be sure to link your tags here.

I'm hoping that some of our other Pokeys will check in before too long.
This is always a crazy time at most homes, so we'll take what we can get.

I've already written a novel, but just wanted to tell you about one of my Cubs. He's the one I commented on last summer, that it was going to be A LONG YEAR with him. Wild, incorrigible, disrespectful, etc. The past 2 months he has really matured. He asked last week when I was going to decorate for Christmas and I told him I might not even do it this year. That I can't get to the stuff alone and DH can't do any lifting and was not feeling at all well. He said very emphatically, "Well, I think that's something your Cubs should do for you!" I couldn't believe it was the same young man. I mentioned it to his grandmother today at Church and she insisted that I should let them help me in some way. She thinks it would help him to be of service and raise his self-esteem. Do I dare have those little boys help carry everything?? I don't know...we'll see. Sarah, what do you think? Would I be in trouble for exploiting them?

Sorry for the long post. It's nice to "see" you all!

I think I need to join this challenge. I have two little ones, full time job and life, basically, that gets in the way. I am fairly new to scrapping, but have been a cardmaker for about 10 years. I am trying to do something like a December Daily and am trying to piece together a PL type of page for today. My kids decorated rice krispy treat holiday houses today. I got some pretty good pics. Thinking about using the Simple Stories holiday line for this one. Wish me luck!

Good Morning Peas! so glad to see everyone checking in! I woke up at 4:20 this morning and could not go back to sleep so got up at 5 and scrapped a page! Talk about being obsessed! Another page for my JYC!

HI to Minna and welcome to the Pokey Peas! Please post your page when you get it finished. If you get four layouts a month done that is fine but do not worry if you don't-we just try to encourage you to scrap but we also know life gets in the way! I am making an effort to do Journal Your Christmas again-I have finally decided whatever I get done that will fit in that album is good. I have decided that ahead of time and I am also doing some of it digi and using templates where I can just drop in photos and paper and add my own embellishments. This way I don't get down on myself! No Pressure

For those who do no know me I am Cindy, wife, mom and grandma! I have been scrapping for 4 years and it is my passion!

Nylene-surely there is a way that the young scout can help you out without it feeling like you are exploiting him. Maybe the family members could carry out the boxes and he could help you with the decorating!

Diana-your tags are beautiful!

Linda-I will be leaving you some love as soon as I am done posting!

Here's the page I did this morning!

Hanging of the Greens

Thanks for looking!

Good Morning Ladies,

Just a little about me. I am a widow, however I have a new significant other. I am a retired professor. I live in WA state, and I have been scrapbooking for about 15 years. I mostly scrapbook my dogs, cats, scenery, and trips, since I don't have any grandchildren yet, and I probably never will, according to my only grown son. I love 2Peas, and I have met many peas throughout the years. Scrapbooking is a passion of mine. I find it relaxing and a way to escape this crazy world we live in.

Hi everyone!

Hi to Linda, Minna and Diana. Welcome to the Pokey Peas I am Sarah, married, with 2 kids aged 13 and 10. We moved from the UK in the summer to NE Florida due to my DH getting a military posting with the US Navy. I am still getting the hang of living here, and trying not to spend all my time and money in the huge choice of craft shops I am surrounded by I have been scrapbooking since 2005 ish, but also love doing other crafty things - knitting has been my recent craft of choice

I am extremely Pokey just now - I haven't even filled the kids advent calendars yet, and its the 3rd I am sorting that this afternoon, so they will have 3 pockets to empty when they get home from school... We were in Orlando again this weekend (hence the Pokey-ness) using up our extra day's ticket at Universal, and then we used our Hero pass to get into Sea World for free. We all loved Sea World. The kids had their caricatures drawn, and the artist was so talented. He captured them perfectly, well worth the $15 a piece

Nylene, I don't think you would be exploiting the Cubs if they helped you with the holiday decorating. After all, it was one of the Cubs who suggested it - it was not as though you had told them thats what they were going to do. You do so much for those boys, this is the least they can do

I am starting to get my Christmas decor out this week. I have bought some new bits, and DH has bought new lights for outside. I made a wreath for the front door which I am pretty proud of. I think Jemma and I will put the tree up at the weekend, Tom is going to Tampa all day Saturday for a Lego robotic competition with his school (and a 5.10 am drop off - eek) and said he didn't mind if we decorated without him.

Hi, everyone! It's great to see the thread moving so early in the month.

Minna, so glad you'd like to join us. We truly just want to see what you have scrapped, and we don't put any pressure on you. Sounds like you are a busy mama. I think the Simple Stories paper line would be wonderful for your project. Sounds like you had a good time with the rice crispies!
Can you give us a hint of where you are located?

Here are the two pages I finished this weekend.

A Vision of Beauty
Alyssa Is...

You can check out my profile, but basically, I'm a mother of 4 grown children and the grandmother of 13. I teach 4-H to my granddaughters and Cub Scouts to a local group of 10-year-olds. Angie, who posts here too is my youngest daughter. I got into scrapping with her when she was still in high school. I agree with Linda, that scrapping is therapeutic and takes away the craziness around me.

Sarah, I'm glad you got to use the rest of your passes. Sea World was a favorite for our kids. Hope you enjoy a crazy US Christmas. Surely things couldn't be this busy in the UK, could it? I'm still thinking about Cubs. The boys come tomorrow. I need to make a decision.

Nice to "see" you all.

Here is one I did today.
Seven to Seventeen

Nylene, I'll pot the tags here tomorrow. I'm ready for bed, been working full time and it's kicking my behind. It's been over 3 years that I worked full time, but this boy in college is squeezing me dry.

Hi for those who don't know me I'm Diana, a mom of 3 and step mom to 4, Yours Mines and our's, that movie is so us in so many ways. I'm even married to an ex Lieutenant. The olders ones are my step kids, Beau 31, Lauren 30, Justin (Bucky) 25, Tyler 21 ( I raised him), mine are Daniel 18, Monica 15 and Natalie 7 (Ours). Fun group, we don't get together often, since Beau lives in Costa Rica and Tyler is in the Coast Guard. Hopefully we will have all 7 here this Christmas, for sure we will have 6. I'm a very happy camper, I love my big family and cooking for all of them. I love scrap booking, I work full time and have a Jewelry business that I'm trying to grow part time.

Good Morning Peas! Hope you are all having a great day. I worked last night on Bob's Calendars that he sends to family & friends every year at holiday time. I thought I would share them with you since they are scrapped photos. I asked for these photos since August-I finally got them this week! I am using a calendar template kit so it is mainly tweaking the template and attaching the photos, papers and adding the embellies! The cover page I made myself-no template. I learned a lot from making these last year-like writing on each page what the photos are about! I had to write an extra page to let them know what or who everything was.

It is so good to see everyone stopping by! Such a pleasure to hear what everyone is up to!

Here's the link to my pages-

Wow! Look at all the new faces we have here! So exciting! Hi Diana, Linda & Minna! Welcome! Hope to see you all around sharing your fun crafts.

The last few days have been better. My dh starts a new temp job on Thursday so we are grateful for that. So he has been a working machine! So tomorrow he will be off to have a little break between jobs. I am looking forward to us having a nice play day.

Here is a funny video I saw last night. The cat is too cute! Cat on the Treadmill

Linda- Thanks for the compliment! I have taken a card break and hope to get back to them when inspiration hits me. WELCOME!

Diana- So good to see you with us pokey peas. It's been a while since I have seen you and look forward to seeing your crafts. WELCOME!

Nylene- I made a sheet cake a few weeks ago and want to try another one. I am a beginning baker and still finding my way around this. So this week I want to try a yellow cake. I want to try a two layer cake soon. I have never done this before. So this feel fun! I hear ya about the weight but I can always use the pounds. A few months ago I started some Christmas cards but lost the mojo. So I have been thinking about finishing them soon. So we will see.

Cindy- Hey there! You are on a great roll! Thanks for keeping us going here.

Sarah- Wow, you all are having a fun 1st holiday season. I hope it keeps getting better and better. I know you will love Christmas time. But are you missing the cool weather?

Thanks for the warm welcome Kelly.

Well, today, I got a stunner today. I've been dating a super nice guy from Seattle. Anyway, I get an email from his daughter today, addressed "Hi MOM" He was been talking about getting married lately. I never thought about about being a step-mother before. She's getting more than a step-mother though, but a step-brother as well. I guess it's time to tell my son aye?

Good Morning everyone! Hope your day is starting off on the right foot! I scrapped February for the DH's calendar and posted it. The folks in those photos were actually born and lived on this farm before moving elsewhere. The log house that is hard to see behind them will be coming up on another page. The log house was still there in 1962 when my father-in-law bought this farm but he tore it down. The main part of the "shanty" was built originally as the kitchen. Just a little background for you!

Linda-sounds like things are getting a little serious for you! I wish you happiness.

Kelly-sounds like you are becoming quite the entrepeneur (?)-cardmaker, artist and soon cake decorator! I am glad to hear the DH has a job lined up and that you are feeling better!
Nylene- Did you let the scouts help with the decorations?????

Here's the link to my calendar page-

Hi gals,

Linda, wow I think that email would have shocked me too Best wishes to you all as you go forward

Cindy, I keep meaning to do a calendar, but I never get round to it. I have a Making Memories calendar blank I picked up for a steal at TJ Maxx a couple of years ago, but have never got round to doing anything with it. Maybe 2013 is the year...???

Nylene, as requested, I took a photo of my wreath.

Christmas Wreath

Mark put the outside lights up yesterday. In the dark. At one point he was on the roof with a flash light... The neighbours must have thought him crazy. So it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Hi pokey friends!!

So sorry I've been MIA..again! So much going on here I don't know where to begin. First I want to say welcome to a couple of familiar faces, Diana and Linda!! I'm so happy to see you two! And a warm welcome to Minna.

Minna, I'm Valerie and I might be the pokiest of the pokey's . I've been married for 38 years, have 3 grown children and 2 grands, work part time as a secretary to a couple of real estate agents, I scrap once a week with a friend who has early alzheimers (she just turned 60), I volunteer twice a week at the assisted living in my neighborhood, my dd got engaged this year and is getting married next May, my sister and her dog live with me and dh. She works for FEMA so is in NY right now. I have 2 cats and a spoiled Yorkie. Whew!

DH and I are moving! That's one of the reasons I haven't been around much. We get the keys January 11th so we're packing and trying to still have the house a bit festive! It's a sad/exciting time for me. We've lived in this house for 26 years and I raised my 3 kids here but it's time to move. Most people think at our age (in our 50's) we'd be downsizing but we aren't. Our house now is 1,600 sq ft and our new house is 2,600. One of the criteria was a first floor master and this has that. Sarah, I'm just moving to a neighboring city, I couldn't imagine moving across the world. I give you loads of kudos and credit my friend .

Well, enough about me and my trivial garb. Nylene, tell me about Steve. If you want to email me or peamail me I would love to know what's been happening with him. Did you get the scouts to help you with your decorations? Sometimes a feeling of worth is so valuable to boys that age.

Cindy, are you still not feeling well? I am so sorry. Do you get to eat yet? I have to say how impressed I am with your digital layouts! Wow!

Kelly, how is the card business? Congrats to dh and his new job . Way to go in the baking dept! I love to cook too and include tons of pics of food and dishes throughout my PL album.

Linda! Wow that email must have been a shocker. How nice though that she called you mom..she must like you-that's a good sign! Good luck and let us know. Hey, with a step daughter you might one day be a grandma after all!

Sarah, your wreath is simply stunning!!

I'm busy knitting a beautiful tam with beads for my dd for Christmas and trying to stay caught up in my Project Life album. I just got the one I ordered for 2013 yesterday. I really love the PL.

Okay, now that I've written a novel I'm off. I will try to stop by once a day. I have an iPad so it should be easy Waiving hi and sending lots of love your way

Valerie, good luck with the move I know it is stressful, but worth it in the end. Are you moving closer to family, or further away?

Thank you for the kind comments on my wreath. It was so easy to do. I may make other ones for other times of the year, as I love how pretty a door looks when it is decorated.

I am Pea-ing in Starbucks just now, as I had to drop DD off at school early for a chorus rehearsal, and I'm waiting for shops to open ...

Hi again...I know! 2 days in a row!

Sarah, we're only moving about 10 miles away. We love the area we live in the little communities are very quaint. We moved here from Mississippi back in the '80's because the schools are top notch and that was important to us at the time. We're actually moving to the city where dh grew up. If you look at a map online and type in Avon Lake, OH that's where we live now and we're moving just south of Lake Erie to Avon, OH.

Val, it's so nice to see you stopping by. I can't believe you are moving right after Christmas. What a busy time to pack and move. Sounds like you are so busy. How's the scrapping going with Peggy? You are so kind to help her. I'm sure she looks forward to that time with you. How are the grands?

DH had surgery in November for some ventral hernias. He just cannot seem to get back to normal. We spent the afternoon in a Dr. office yesterday, and in the ER last night. He is doing somewhat better this morning. I think he's going to be OK, but he is struggling. He is never a complainer, and sometimes it would help if he'd complain so I know what's going on!

I did let my Cubs carry up the boxes for my Christmas Village and the tree decorations. They were so sweet, and seemed so happy to do it. My SIL came last night and carried up the tree and the heavy table top I use for the village. Granddaughters are coming today to set up the village (which they love to do!) so we are getting more in the Christmas mood.

Linda, wow, how soon are you considering marriage? I hope he treats you wonderfully. Sounds like his daughter is happy about the prospects. Yes, you may be a grandmother yet!!!

Sarah, I love your wreath. Is there a tutorial for it? Such beautiful colors. Glad you are getting in the holiday spirit, but don't let your DH get on the roof after dark. What's the matter with these men? Do they think they are invincible?

I need to run fix something for lunch, but I'll check back in later.
Hugs to everyone.

Thank you, Cindy. I even looked for her instructions and somehow missed them. Thanks for taking the time to do that. My SIL put a program on my 2peas site that tones down the bright white and makes the print darker. But it doesn't show up the links...at all. If I don't run my cursor over the type, I can't even see the links. Luckily I can go to Challenges, Member Challenges, then Pokey Peas and see all the layouts linked to this thread.

Steve is feeling better today. Not great, but not in agony like he was last night. Thanks for asking.

I'm sorry to hear that DH is still having issues, I hope they resolve themselves quickly and he is on the mend soon Nylene.

Cindy, thanks for posting the link - I found the blog when googling Deco Mesh wreaths. I didn't like the woven ribbon type of wreaths, but the spiral one caught my eye. It was very simple - Deco Mesh and pipe cleaners lol. Then I added some snowflakes and glittered balls from Michael's, and the word from Target. It looked like a tutu before I added the extras

Cindy, it's hard not to get into the spirit of things here You hardly need the street lights in the neighbourhood as so many houses are decorated with lights DH and I say it reminds us of Blackpool. It is a famous British seaside town that is famous for its "Illuminations" - a couple of miles along the promenade that is decorated with lights and scenes I remember visiting my Great Aunt and Uncle and going to see the illuminations, it was, and still is, a sight to behold

Hey all you pokey girls, long time no post!!

Hello to Linda,Diana and anyone else that is new here. My name is Pam and I scrap almost every day. My DH passed 2 1/2 yrs ago and it has been a painful journey for me since. We were married 45 yrs, have 4 grown children, five grandchildren and 3 great granchildren. I am a retired Emergency Room nurse ( 30 + yrs),a gardener, cook, and lots of crafts from time to time. I scrap almost exclusively digital now, love it, and wished I would have started sooner.

I give an Ohio (mid) weather forecast and today is rainy, cold and tonite it is starting to be very foggy! lol

I have been working on the Christmas decor this week, slowly and I will be glad when I have completed. Then sit back and enjoy. I will start the
baking this week-end and candy making.

Hope all is well in your hearts and homes... Soon Come

Hi Peas! Just stopped by for a minute to share the good news! I saw my surgeon today and he released me. He said it will take time for the healing to take place but I am well on my way. I continue to have swelling in my esophagus, etc but that can take up to year to go away completely. I also get to decrease then try to stop my medication I have taken for so many years for the reflux! So all good news!

Pam-so nice to see you stopping by! We miss your visits and sharing your pages with us. I have been doing more digi and have been working on pages about Bob's farm for his 2013 calendar. You might want to peek at them as I know you enjoyed the few pages I got done before.

I will try to stop back later to post more pages! Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Friday All! I had a better week and hope to continue to enjoy my weekend. I have been learning to crochet over these last couple of days. I just love how you can learn anything online. It has been fun learning different crafts. And believe it or not, I am feeling a little card mojo. So this weekend I hope to play around with the cards I started for christmas. So wish me luck!

Nylene- Oh, I hope you dh is feeling better. I took care of my loved ones for some years and I know how stressful that can be. Please keep taking care of you. Glad you have lots of supportive family to help, too. So blessed! Plus, I know your crafts keep you happy.

Cindy- Your digi work is looking so good. The calendar you are working on is going to be so special. So girl!!!

Val- VALLLLL! Hey girl, it is so good to see you back. I hope your moving goes well. Moving to a larger home does sound great inspite of all the packing and moving. Hope you craft room will be even better. I haven't been working on my business or cards for a while but hope to get back to it soon. I guess I needed a break.

Pam- PAAMMMM! I miss seeing you too. I hope this season has been better. Sounds like you are busy having fun even though the weather is cool. What kind of baking and candy making are you looking forward to? I am trying to bake lately. I make a sheet cake and want to try another one soon.

Sarah- OMG, that wreath is soooo pretty, beautiful and fabulous! You did a great job on it, too. Looks like something I would see in a magazine!

Waving hi to Diana, Linda, Amy, Annie and all the rest of you gals! Hope you have a great evening!

Mom-sorry to hear about Dad. Give him our love. I wish we could be there but we're probably more helpful in the form of prayers right now. Sammie never forgets him.

Val-Best of Luck with the move. I don't envy the work ahead of you but the new place sounds amazing.

Cindy-I'm glad to hear you're recovering. A year for the swelling to go away? Sounds miserable. But you are always so positive. That's truly a gift. I'm glad you share it with us.

Welcome Newbies and Returnies--
I'm still new here myself. I was recruited by my mom, Nylene. I'm a very pokey pea but get more done with support from the group. About me: I have two kids-my oldest is in Kindergarten. My days are filled with peanut butter, drop off/pick up and laundry. But today I stole some time for myself to scrapbook. I love digi where my supplies are safe from little hands. Occasionally I make cards when the littlest is napping.

Kelly-You are in craft mode! I want to see your crochet projects. What about the drawing-do you have more to share? And I'm excited to see the Christmas cards!

I'll post my newest page soon. Right now I'm in bed typing on my phone. I've still got a lot of catching up to do on this thread. So hugs to all of you until I can get back.

Angie...Hi, I hear a lot about you through your mom and her beautiful LO of your kids. I was lucking to meet her and Em in Orlando about 3 or 4 years ago, it was wonderful, my girls just fell in love with her.

Cindy...Glad you are on the right track to healing.

Sarah..Where in Florida are you? We are practically neighbors

Cindy - that is great news from your doctor. Onwards and upwards now my friend
Kelly - I have been knitting a lot recently, but I have also found some crochet patterns I would like to try. I self taught myself when I was young, about 10 I think, from a crochet book of my Mum's. The Internet is such a great learning tool, I wish I had it when I was a kid

Nylene - please know that Steve is in our thoughts, and we wish him a speedy recovery x

Pam - so good to see you here! How is your handsome Sylvester these days?

Angie, you sound as busy as ever. I remember when my two were small, I felt like my feet never touched the ground. I hope you have some fun things planned for the holidays

Diana, I am in Jacksonville. Where in the sunshine state are you then...! We are enjoying being here so far, it's been 6 months since we arrived. Every day we are learning something new, both about the city and the country too. Having school aged kids means we are learning as they do. This week was Jemma's first science fair project - now that was some task Tom told us how they learned about Pearl Harbor this week. I love learning about the history and heritage of places, and I think he is lapping it all up as much as I am

This weekend we finally got the inside of the house decorated for Christmas, and my lovely tree - which filled a corner of our sitting room back home - looks a little forlorn and a whole lot smaller in our much larger American home Mark blew the budget on outside lights this year so I will wait till next year to get a larger tree Tom had his first ever Lego League tournament this weekend. He had an early start - 4 am - to get to Tampa where the tournament was held. He had fun, but the team didn't make it to Regionals. He wasn't upset, as he was a "rookie" and some of the teams were from middle and high schools with years of practice. It was a long day for them too.
We have had a lazy day today, I have been trying to make some Christmas cards, and I should have written the cards to post to the UK, but I have had a hard time concentrating on one thing today, mindlessly flitting between activities Maybe this week I'll get my act together....

Here are the pages I've been working on. It's exactly the same layout and embellishments. I made my daughter's page first. Once I had it the way I wanted, I just deleted her photos, added my son's, changed the captions and VOILA. I'm not only a Pokey Pea, I'm a lazy one too.

Angie, if it ain't broke, why fix it I am sure that in the future, the kids are going to be grateful that you documented their lives, and not worry that their mother was lazy by using the same design for their pages

Diana, I took my parents to St Augustine when they visited in October. It is a pretty little place, and we loved walking down St George's Street. We've only gone as far south as Orlando so far, but we hope to go north, south and west before our time here is up

Monday morning again, and it is foggy outside. I have so many things to do, that I just don't know where to start. I think I will go walk a few miles to see if I can get my head straight - I don't feel up to a run today I think a master list would be a good starting point too, so I can see how much I have to do so I can feel overwhelmed again

Good Monday morning Peas! Hope you had a great weekend! I had my sister and her DH and my niece Emily for dinner Saturday evening-we had a great time! Then I scrapped calendar pages yesterday. Working on another this morning.

Nylene-how is Steve doing? How is Nylene doing???? Did the grands get the village set up? We need a pic of it!

Angie-your costumes are so adorable and I liked that you used what you had available to make them. Your pages are great too!

Sarah-sounds like you are adapting to American way of life-you are already overwhelmed!

Waving a big Hi! to everyone.

Here's a link to four more of my calendar pages.

Hi, Pokeys. Sorry I've been absent. DH has been to 3 different doctors in the last week. I'm tired of waiting rooms! I think he is doing better each day, but not sure. Seems like we get one problem under control and another pops up. He has finally realized that he needs to relax and take it easy. He didn't even try to go to Church on Sunday. That tells me he's not up to par. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers on his behalf.

Cindy, I loved that thread you posted about Why I scrapbook. Very sweet and motivating. Congrats on the release from your Dr. I know you will still have to be careful for a long time, but I'm glad you are no longer in so much misery. I'm loving your calendar pages!!

Sarah, I've never heard of DecoMesh, but I'd love to make one of those wreaths. I agree with Kelly, it looks like something you'd see in a magazine. I hope you are enjoying the preparations for Christmas. What fun to celebrate it in another country.

Pam!!! So nice to see you checking in. Did you ever have the surgery you need? I'd love to see your Christmas decorations. Everything you do is so beautiful and tasteful. Thinking about you this time of year when your loved ones are no longer here. Hugs!

Diana, I love those tags. I know I can't do them this year, but I'm bookmarking them for another time or year. It sounds like Daniel is doing well at school. You will really have a houseful for Christmas. It's a good thing you love to cook!

Kelly, glad to see you trying lots of new experiences. What have you baked this week? How's the crocheting coming? I love to do blanket edges, and small scrapbook type flowers, but that's about the size of my crochet abilities. Congrats on the new job for DH. Hope it lasts a long time or turns into permanent.

Val, will you have another sun room in your new house? I agree with Cindy, I've been in love with your sunroom since you first posted it a couple of years ago. Is your sis back from NY yet? Will she still live with you when you move? Are your grands excited for Christmas? Lots of excitement around here when the grands come. BTW, Pokeys, I was fortunate to meet and share a room with Val in 2010 at Scrapfest! She's such a talented gal. She can even knit fancy stockings..not just Christmas stockings, but the kind you wear.

My granddaughters did every bit of my village set up except the cloths over the empty boxes for various heights of buildings. They were so cute. They made up stories as they placed things, like "hey, the library HAS to be by the school so they can stop by on the way home from school",
"The water under the bridge can run down to the skating pond," etc. It was fun to watch. They also totally decorated the tree. I put lights on and when I turned them on, all four strings were out. So our tree is light-less, but at least we have a tree!! It's nice to have it all done. I'll do a page about it soon.

Angie, I love your Brave pages. If you hadn't said anything, I wouldn't have noticed they were the same. Those are the cutest kids and of course I'm not a bit prejudiced! I need to get some paper dolls sent to Sam, but it will be a while yet. Is she getting anxious?

Linda, how's the dating/marriage plans coming? Hope things are going well for you.

Today we had a big snowstorm. It snowed all day, but we didn't have to leave the house, so we just enjoyed it from the window. I hope it melts off for Cub Scouts tomorrow. It's our last meeting until the first of the year.

Sorry about the novel I've written! I need to check in more often so I don't have so much to catch up on. Off to praise your work!

Wow! The Pokey Peas are talkative and scrappy this month! It must be all the inspiration. So glad to see three new pokeys! Welcome Linda, Minna and Diana!

Cindy-So glad that you are healing so well!

Val-Good luck with your move! I have moved once since having children (one mile away from the old house) and it was chaotic! Good luck!

Nylene-So sorry to hear about dh's continued problems. Just said a little prayer for him and will try to continue to lift him up.

Just one to share with you tonight:

Hello!

I have been a busy girl with work and trying to get ready for Christmas! I still have quite a bit of shopping to do. I am hoping to get things organized and done early. I am not sure that is going to work out with my work schedule.

I thought I would stop in quickly to say HI and hope everyone is doing good. I hope I can check in later and get caught up.
