Thank you Jo Ann for selecting my peanut butter balls as December's winner. Loads of awesome holiday food and calories last month
...
so this month we'll go with "Healthy Choice" . I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting whiplash with the Nutrasystem / Wendy's / Weight Watchers / Sonic commercials. Even so, I know that we're all giving that 'healthy fare' a go this month, so lets see what ya got. Variety is the spice of life - so there is no restriction on whether it is breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack, etc.
and to kick it off

I didn't manage to get anything in for the December challenge but I just happened to set up something this afternoon to inspire me with healthier food choices for the new year, so I'm up really early on the January one.

Yum! Yum! And actually it is a healthy choice for a dessert..... well if you compare it to a nice big piece of chocolate cake with loads of frosting it is.

Jo Ann - I like your idea of 'healthy'; and I do agree, it is better than a chunk of chocolate.... but then I've heard that dark chocolate has redeeming qualities. just saying!!!

Of course you can't see the croutons, cheese, and salad dressing I added Really....I went lightly on all 3 though so it was still healthy

Jo Ann, Thank you! Love the salad, definitely healthy! We eat a ton of salad in my house, and my 12 year old almost never puts dressing on hers, and while we all laugh, truth be told, she's the smartest of us all!

I made some soup tonight with chicken and lentils and carrots and cabbage...I think it was quite healthy and it tasted pretty good but colourwise it looked kind of like green mud...not sure how appealing a photo it would make. There is some left for tomorrow so maybe I should try to challenge myself to make it look appealing. | |

I like both your shots, .Jennifer, but the salad really looks yummy and full of fresh and healthy things.
Here is my shot for healthy.. Spicy Chicken Soup with Lentils,not too keen on the fat floating on top but it's made with real chicken and even with taking off all visible fat before making it and skimming after cooling it, there still seems to be quite a bit of fat around. I had reports that it tasted good, if that helps.

I used my mscro lens, but it was supper dark inside...
I think the soup looks good and that is not really all fat no matter what you do soup has that... I think it added to the pic |
