On average, do you consider yourself a fast or slow scrapper? For me it depends of course on if I'm trying to meet a deadline (and how quickly that deadline is approaching! LOL), but in general I consider myself somewhat on the slow side. I tend to fuss a lot - trying different things, playing with placement, etc. I have a hard to just "going with it" and will often overthink things when I should just be done with it all. Planning things out a bit ahead of time definitely speeds up my process as well as knowing what products I want to work with. I can get lost for hours searching for embellishments in some cases! LOL! |

slow. ugh! And when it's all said and done, my pages aren't even that complicated. I just don't have the knack for pulling something together quickly. |

Typically slow because I like trying different techniques and really don't care how long a page takes. I enjoy the process. I would say average of 2 hrs per page

I would say fairly slow but that is okay with me. I scrap while I watch TV or a movie so I would say that it takes about 2 hours for me to do a page but I do watch the show/movie too which I am sure slows me down. |

I can be both. When I firsted started scrapping I was really, really slow. But now I know what works for me and I can be fast if I stick to the basics that work for me - 3 sheets or less of cardstock and pattern paper, 4x6 photos, quick die cut title, computer journaling matted on a card and attached the layout, and 1 or 2 embellishment clusters. I can crank out that kind of layout in an hour or less.
But if I am being more creative - 4 or 5 sheets of paper, stamping, die cuts with layering, different photo sizes, a long story to tell, etc. it can take me a hours or even a day or two to get a page done.

Overall, I would also say that I'm a slow scrapper. I enjoy the process, and try many different elements/placements before I commit to a definite design of a layout. I'm ok with being a slow scrapper, though, because the whole process is why I scrap. |

Compared to what I've read on this board over time, I would say I'm fairly fast. Not speedy, but fast. I average about an hour per page. |

I'm fairly slow, but I think it's because I find half an hour here and 20 minutes there to scrapbook. I have started to block out time after dinner since right before Christmas, and that helps. Then there are the interruptions. . . . It's OK, though. I'm not in a race, and I enjoy taking my time. |

Slow! I've been known to take up to 4 hours to do 1 layout I'm working on speeding up my process, trying to think less and just go with the flow. I'm getting better, and the other day I even knocked out a layout in just 30 minutes! I decided to just dive into my scrap basket, pull stuff out and slap it down, with very little embellishment on top of it. It's not my favorite layout ever, but it definitely felt good to have not spent all night on it! |

I'm fast unless I'm trying to scraplift something specific or try out a new technique, which makes me slower. |

Super slow! It takes me a while moving and playing before I can make a commitment. Also, I get easily distracted... I start looking for a pp and then get lost going through ALL the pp...I start looking for a badge, then I go through the whole embellishment basket...

I am slow!
I think if it takes you 8 hours to do a LO you are definitely slow, Jen, so if you can do a LO in less than 2 hours you are fast!
It doesn't take me 8 hours, but I do a LO over days sometimes. My last one, though I like it, I worked on over 3 days and that was kind of frustrating. That's why I consider myself a slow scrapper. |

I'm pretty fast on layouts I'm keeping simple, occasionally I'll create a project that is a little more technique heavy and that will take longer if there needs to be dry time or multiple steps etc.
For the most part I like to keep my pages simple and photos on the photos and stories I'm trying to tell. |

I think I am slow to get started but once I start I am fast. I can usually complete a page in 30-45 minutes. Today I am planning on starting my 4 year old's first year album. All the stuff (pictures and supplies) is in one box. I have been adding things to the box since she was a baby but haven't had the desire to scrap. My stuff was boxed up for a very long time and I hate digging for stuff. I have it 75% organized now and just need to get back into scrapping. I am trying PL and hope this gives me the push I need to scrap. I really enjoy scrapping and crafts but I can never find uninterrupted time to do it. |

I'm slow. It took me nearly 4 years to do the five albums of our European trip. (I did other stuff, obviously, than just scrapping. But it took me that long to finish that project.)
I'm a slow scrapper because I do a lot of layering and love my embellishments. So I spend a lot of time trying this and that out.
I'm good with it since for me it's more about the process than the product. I have no real goal to ever get "caught up" other than wanting to do our vacations, wedding, and my dd's early years.
I do work faster when I'm making albums for other people or for events that are not so important to me. For example, I did the pages for our summer trip in about a week because the trip wasn't a once in a lifetime experience like that European adventure was, so I wasn't so invested in wanting every page to be perfect/wonderful.

I think I'm a fast scrapper, only when it comes to layouts.
Now mini books are a whole other story! I love a good mini, art journal, or smash book.
I just can't make one to save my life! I have a shelf where all the books I started with the best of intentions sit untouched.
Ugh. One day I will go back and save them! |

I am a very fast, decisive scrapper!
I actually had someone at a retreat once accuse me of cheating on my page count because she said there was no way I had done that many in 2 1/2 days. Sore loser, I say!
Thankfully I was able to show from the start to finish that all my photos had only been picked up the Friday morning of the retreat at the Costco nearest the city of the retreat and gave that woman the stink eye for being such a cry baby! Thankfully the people around me jumped to my defense and said they'd seen me create them over the weekend. |

Okay so most of us seem to be slow. Although I think that might be relative since two hours seems fast to me, but slow to others. LOL!
Here's another question ... for those of you that are fast scrappers, what makes you fast? I know what makes me slow - I tend to play around with things, don't always have a clear direction of what I want to do with a layout, what product I want to use, etc. I also am a wee bit of a perfectionist so I have to make sure everything is "just right" and to my liking before I call a page done. But I want to know what makes people FAST scrappers. Maybe some of that can rub off on me a bit! |

I am not sure how long is considered fast or slow. I probably average 60-90 minutes per layout. I can take much longer and every once in a while, the stars align and a page comes together in 30-40 minutes.

Fast. I guess its from my CM crop days. There was always a contest on who can get the most pages done at the crop. I never won but it stuck with me. What slows down my process is selecting paper and embellishments. |

Both, depends on the layout. I generally fit the under 2 hours for the actually layout unless I'm making my own embellishments or what-nots.
I like to leave them with embellishments unglued on the table for a few hours while doing other stuff and then looking at them as I pass by. If I don't feel the need to change anything, I glue it down. |
