Does anyone know if there is free photo editing software that is worth while or do you just recommend biting the bullet and purchasing the new photo shop elements 11? Any advice is well appreciated. Thank you |

A lot of people use Gimp. It has a lot of the same functions as PS does. |

Kind of depends how serious you are... Photoshop has a free, very pared-down online photo editing program:
Photoshop Express
I'd say stick with this or Gimp (also heard a lot of good things about it) for a little bit. If you're still serious and want to learn more, then definitely go for Elements!

my grandma always said you get what you pay for. PSE 11 is not that expensive. I would go for it.....I think you will be happy!

I am not grandma but I always tell my friends and family "you pay for what you get in this life and honestly anything free is usually free for a reason.. I feel like anyway.. I started on elements that was on my computer years ago and then got PS and I have never looked back... |

I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.
