This is more than a rant more than anything. I've been getting my PL photos printed at Sam's. Print on Friday, pick up over lunch, and do the previous week over the weekend.
But today I knew I would be short on time so I ordered from Walmart instead. They are only 5 minutes away from work. Sam's is 20. I live out in the boonies at least 30 minutes away from anything so I run all errands over lunch while I'm in town.
Anyway, I got back to work and opened my pictures. They are HORRIBLE. Every single one of them. Sigh. Guess I'll do a double order next week from Sam's. I have no idea why the prints came out so bad. I know it's hit or miss with Walmart photo printing. I don't know why I just didn't wait until next week.
Now that I got that off my chest I feel a lot better. |

My Walmart prints always end up horribly dark and super contrasty. | |

So sorry your pictures turned our so poorly. I would be really frustrated with that, especially right before the weekend! |

I have been having good luck with wmart and then this week a bunch of them are really dark. What the heck? I wish Costco wasn't so far away but I may need to give it a try. | |

I knew the peas would understand and glad I'm not the only one.
At least I can still put the pics in my PL pages until I get the decent prints next week. |

I've seen a lot of professional photographer friends complaining about photo printer quality at a number of stores and how it sucks when their clients take their photos & print them somewhere where the quality is terrible.
There have been a few comparisions out there on Pinterest showing the differences between photo quality at different printers, online and in stores (Walmart, Target, Costco, Ritz etc).

I've taken to ordering almost all my photos either through Costco or Persnickety Prints (online) but that's not the most convenient for PL. |

I had really dark prints from CVS also, but they ended up giving me a refund so can't complain! I bought a photo printer last year for less than $100, and the prints are wayyy better than anything I got from an outside printer. |

I hate that! It seems like a lot of photos I've gotten are either dark or the color is off (too yellow, etc.). I've had pretty good luck with Shutterfly, but more and more I'm switching to just printing at home. |

I pretty much ONLY order my prints from mpix.com. They have such awesome quality. I just started doing project life, so for convenience sake I have been ordering from Walmart the last two weeks. I may end up reprinting them when I order from mpix next. |

I use Sam's when I need it quick but I'm always on the lookout for a better local printer. So frustrating that its hard to find. |
