Instead of scrapping tonight, I'm doing something that I have put off for far too long: Unzipping downloaded kits from the past 6 months.

I've done it here and there, with kits that I wanted to use right away. But too often I am guilty of downloading and forgetting.

It is fun to see my "new" stuff again, but I'm bored and want to scrap!

The downloading and unzipping is so tedious. I have a few I need to get sorted too.

I didn't realize this was such a process for some people. My Mac does it automatically for me. Downloads and unzips and I never have to worry about it. If I did I'd probably be in the same situation.

I've left them for a bit in the past too, but when I get around to unzipping, I find some of the files to be corrupt, and by then, the links have expired to download again, so I really try to do them quickly--unless they are ct things that I know I can still download!! Good luck!! I've lost so many parts of kits that way!

I ALWAYS unzip immediately, as part of the download process. It kind of amazes me that people don't - I'm pretty sure I'd never ever unzip them if I didn't do it at the same time.

I do unzip most things normally Janelle, just now and again I get behind.

Blinks14 -

My process is:

download (into downloads folder - I know if they are there they need to be unzipped)
move into relevant store/designer folder
unzip
delete zip folder
collate kit elements into a single folder (I hate having a folder for papers, another for elements and so on - I am predominantly a kit scrapper for CT work so it is easier for me to have everything compiled into one folder)

I've got a LOT of things that I've yet to unzip, and we're talking stuff back from about 2009 and 2010! I really am trying to get better about unzipping right away. Like fruitysuet, I like to get everything in one folder - I like to see what I've got to work with.

I let kits pile up for a month once and paid the price. So now I automatically unzip and import into iPhoto within a few days. I tag items by use, include the main color, and will even change the titles so I can search easily later.

I won't let myself buy anything else until I have loaded and tagged what I have. Now that's a good incentive!

I really got behind over the Christmas season, even though I try to spend at least 15 minutes a day unzipping and tagging. Finally, I'm caught up again!!

This is where my impatience works for me! I always unzip right away, because I want to see my pretty, pretty new stuff! I just don't like to wait.

I haven't ever tagged a single thing, though. I REALLY need to do that. Dumb question, does Photoshop CS5 do that?

I think you can use Bridge in CS5, Jan. In PSE you can use the Organizer, but no such thing in CS.

Another reason I LOVE my mac. It is just done for me. However, I am very guilty of buying items and not using them - ever.
