My local ABC affliate had a reporter out in the general crowds and he came across a woman he remembered from 4 years ago, and so her interviewed her again.
She had about six very old family photos of sharecroppers, etc...all worn and curled up edges, SAFETY PINNED to the inside of her coat...ARGHH!! They were all curled up and getting all bent and even torn by the safety pin holes..and then she had RIPPED the pages out of her old family Bible and was waving them around so proudly!
I was like "nooo!!! Is there a scrapbooker out there somewhere, save this woman's photos!!"
I mean, I get she was excited and all and was proud of how far we as a nation have come but...wahh..she was destorying those priceless pics!

Thank the good Lord for small favors.
My TV was doing its "I refuse to show you the picture right now routine. " so, I wouldn't have seen it no matter what.

I did see that...I understood the importance of having that with her, but as a scrapbooker, I wanted to do an intervention!

I think some people would say the same about some of the things we do to photos. If that was her way of enjoying the photos and she treasured them no matter what their state then I say good on her! |

When I get all my photos preserved, though, then I can worry about other people.

I'm still thinking of those pictures and are hoping they made it hope intact. They really were some neat pictures she had. Oh, but the safety pins...

I think some people would say the same about some of the things we do to photos
Sara, but we don't do that to the *originals*. At least not anymore..(hanging head in shame at the early cropped CM photos of 1994..).
