Has anyone ever taken this? I've done her classes for quite a few years at the Great Lakes Mega Meet and really enjoy them. Just curious how this event might differ from the Mega Meet. Thanks!

Shelby and Steve are very accommodating crop hostess/host.
The event is low key. You get with your fee a nice meal (hotel food - we had pasta and salad and dessert), two page kits I believe and the opportunity to buy their page kits and home decor kits. I believe they also had a few of the newer lines of paper collections to just buy outright. They also did door prize giveaways through the day.
I went because I knew them through 7 years of GASC and them being always one of my "must hit" booths. I have also ordered online from them and have always found them to be honest and reputable and friendly.
My goal for the day was to meet - hopefully - some other croppers in my area and to have access to their kits. I was successful on both counts and did enjoy the day. I give the event a solid as long as your expectations fall in line with what I put forth.
(In other words, go expecting this ^^ above and you will be satisfied and happy.)
ETA: I don't know what a Mega Meet is. |

Thanks Penny. If your GASC is like what we used to have here in Michigan, the Mega Meet is the same type of thing. Shopping and classes. Lots of shopping and classes! The Mega Meet is in the Detroit area, and is huge. So the Play all Day would be more relaxed and slower paced? I'm really wanting to go and want to talk my sister into it, but she's not interested in taking classes because of how fast paced they are. If this is slower, I might have a chance!
Oh, and if you just want to take a peek, you can check out the Mega Meet here... http://www.megameet.com/glmm/index.html

I really liked the event last year as well. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone had what they needed the whole day. The 2 classes were good and I got a lot of kits put together. I also got to meet Penny which was great!! I have already put the 2013 event on my calendar which means I definitely had a great time (and, Penny, the Dallas one is on a Saturday this time. The location has not been confirmed yet though according to their customer service because it is still too far out)

I loved the one in Seattle last year and just signed up for this year. I like that you can do the class or just keep on with what ever you are doing. I find her kits and directions easy to follow. Also love the discounted shopping |

Hi Michelle! I've been thinking of you! Hope you are doing well and would love to scrap together again. Hadn't notice 2013 was a Saturday, but that is grand!!
And yes, momofcody, slower paced and no rules and very enjoyable. In fact, I didn't even do my crop kits there because I wanted to work on my stuff and Shelby was very cool with that. She gave me some tips for completing them solo and I just kept on cropping on my own page kits. |

Attended one in norCal few years ago. It was fun and well worth the money, but it also felt a LITTLE BIT like a "sales opportunity" for kits. No pressure to buy anything though. Besides, I LIKE to buy things!!

Ok, I found the link:
Play all Day TX Vent
To clarify, it's $79 for the crop, 9-9 (or midnight if you prefer) and lunch. Is that correct? |

They're having one in Houston towards the end of next month, and I was thinking about going but wasn't sure exactly what the event was all about.
For those who have been, what exactly happens at the events?
I get that they sell kits and supplies, so do the classes involve using certain kits? Are the classes and supplies for them included in the event fee? An extra charge on top of the event fee? Or just something you can opt into and pay for separately? And since it is a vendor related event is it expected to buy and use their kits, or is the cropping part just like any other crop where you bring your own stuff to work on throughout the day?
I've been looking for fun and crafty things to do, and I really like some of their kits and would love to see them "in person" and buy a few. But I have a ton of ziplock bag "page kits" made up from my own supplies that need to be finished first.
It does sound like fun though, and I probably need to make up my mind soon if I'm going to sign up for it.

It's an all day crop, where you work on your own pages, and interspersed are two classes, for which you are given complete layout kits.
You are provided a nice hot meal and there are door prizes given out.
Also, they have an area where they have extra things for sell that you can buy: paper, layout kits, decor projects. |

Just went this past weekend! So much fun, and I got a lot done. Shelby's two classes, included in the price, were awesome! Two four page kits of brand new lines. Well worth it! |

momofcody - I love MegaMeet! MegaMeet is by FAR the best scrap show I've ever been to and I've been to a lot.
Anyway I saw that Shelby was coming back later in the year for Play all Day. I'm thinking about going as well.
Sounds like fun. |
