Hi Guys!
So here's the sign up thread for the March tag.
Just a reminder in the standard guidlines for the tag swap
-Stamping is required on your project
-Your project must be a rectangular hanging tag. Size does not matter since they come in different sizes or you could make your own.
-If you are unable to upload your project here to the site please let me know so I can pair you up with someone who can.
And now for the March theme. This month's tag will be have a "3" theme.
3- colors. You must use 3 springish colors on your tag.And only 3 colors.(green, yellow, white, pink, purple. Think of the colors you see in spring flowers and trees. No brown or black(except for using it to stamp an image to color in).
Your tag must have 3 forms of spring/March themed embellishments on it. (Diecuts, stickers, trims, ribbons, metal, bling, etc., handmade) Some that come to mind, Flowers, butterflys, birds, grass, Shamrocks, Easter eggs or rabbits. Just a few ideas for ya .
And for the final "3" You must use 3 stamps on your tag.
Deadline to sign up is 01.30, I will post a seperate thread on the 31st with your swap partner.
You should have your tag to your swap partner by March 5th.
Any other questions, just ask me in this thread. I hope you'll be able to sign up! |

I'm IN, Pug!
Let's see if I have the requirements correct...
Rectangular hanging tag.
3 spring colors, but black/brown ink allowed for stamping.
3. embellishments. Would 3 different ribbons be acceptable?
3. stamps. Image &/or word.
Due to our swapmate by Mar. 5
I don't see any problems, but I have 2 questions...
Would you consider allowing us to use a white tag & 3 spring colors? Sok if you prefer to keep white as 1 of the 3 colors.
And... Will you be crating a blog for the March Challenge/Swap so we can link our tags to it?
I'm unable to scan & upload.
Sounds like fun, LeighAnn! |

I'd like to chime in with Daniel - can white be a 'neutral' colour so we can use it AND three other colours? |

Ok! Lots of sign ups already! That's great, I was afraid I might scare some away with this months tag!
Beady, I'm glad you signed on! I'm sure your tag will look great even if you have to one arm it!
To answer questions-
Yes you can use a white tag as your base. That would be fine.
And I will be creating a blog for this so your projects can be linked. I meant to do one for February but I forgot.
Still plenty of time to sign up! |

Thanks for allowing the white base. That's going to be a big help. |

LeighAnn, I wanted to go one step further than just a white base. I have a white embellishment. Does it have to count as one of the three colours? |

I'd like to join the tag swap, please. I've been on Twopeas for awhile, but I'm pretty new to the stamping board.
I've never done one of these kinds of swaps, though, and have kind of a stupid question - are both sides of the to be decorated? Or is it just one side? Also, if I use a white tag for the base, can I then only use two other colors? |

Please count me in! Looking forward to it! thanks for continuing to host this challenge.
BTW, I got an answer from Matt about using tags on our tags. The software does not support truncated tag searches. But he's submitting the request to development.
That said, if everyone tags their submittal (and updates those already posted) with 2 tags we can still recall all submittals by month and by year. The monthly tag should take this format t2013mon (t2013jan, t2013feb, t2013mar, etc. And the yearly tag should be simply t2013. I'm going back and tag mine even if I'm the only one to use it. It is of course, up to you whether or not to require the tags as part of the challenge. |

Eager, I went back and added the tags to my projects. Thanks for looking into that for us. Can I request that a reminder to add these tags to your project in the gallery be added to the monthly threads. I know I will forget to do it, but it is a great idea for searching. |

Christinmay, that will count!
Dreamsbedreams, welcome to the stamping board! You don't have to decorate both sides, that's totally optional. You can use white as the base and 2 other colors.
Eager, thank you for looking into that! So nice of you! I will go back and edit my tags too. And I will put a reminder on my tag swaps to label them so they will all show when searched.
Great turnout already. This may be our biggest tag swap yet!! |

LOL, Tonya! First rule of the StamPeas... Never be sorry for asking & (2nd rule) There are no dumb questions!
As LeighAnn has set up her swap, we only have to exchange one tag with our swapmate. And... No one has to 'commit' to swapping every month. |

Pug-I have been waiting to read your answers on some of the above questions perhaps I missed them. Specifically-
Daniel asked if 3 ribbon would meet the 3 embellishment standard.
...and I was thinking that would be for any embellishment3 gems or 3 buttons etc. Usually designers encourage working in odd numbers so it often means adding 1 or 3 items on a project as small as a tag..... 3 different embellishments is a harder design standard to accomplish in a small space.
And Christin's question on the 3 colors...is white a neutral and not counted as one of the 3 or is it strictly 3 colors counting white as 1.
Thanks for your clarification. |
...Jan

Good points on the 3 embellishments, Jan.
In her OP, LeighAnn says 3 'forms' forms for the embellies, but I'm thinking she might consider adjusting the requirement to just 3 embellishments--same or different.
As many of us already know, coming up with guidelines for our swaps & challenges is real work. That said, I urge each of us to read everything included in a challenge blog & thread. It's very easy to miss or forget an aspect--BTDT even as a host. |

Sorry Jan! I thought I had answered these.
Yes 3 different ribbons/fibers will count.
And I will accept white as a neutral color so you can use up to 3 other spring/cool colors. |

Here's some more clarification on the color requirements.
You can use white as your tag base if you want. That CAN count as one of your colors OR you can use white as your base and 3 other colors.
As far as embellishments and ribbons go, i will use what Christinmay asked for an example "If you use a white embellishment does that count as one of your colors?" Yes that will count as one of the three colors on your tag.
Sorry to be confusing, I'm hoping this makes sense! Any other questions just let me know, I will be checking the thread periodically today.
Last day to sign up, this month is shaping up to be great |

LOL, Pug! I think I speak for all of us when I say that you have been--continue to be--a terrific hostess for this swap/challenge.
And kudoes to all the players who ask questions & post comments. With just 2 months of tags, I'm feeling such a sense of comaraderie & there's room for lots more.
While my March tag may not be a 'breeze', I'm gonna do my best to not be a blowhard! |

Hi LeighAnn,
After much agonizing, I've decided I'll have to sit this one out.
With Winterfest and lots of family birthdays coming up, it would be unwise of me to commit to something else this month! I'm disappointed, though, and looking forward to next month! |

AGONY! LOL, Christin! At the rate this swap is moving, I'm betting it'll be possible to pick up a dropped month down the line.
Who knows. LeighAnn may be able to do a 13th month match-up for those who had to miss a month. |

Thanks Daniel! I am so happy with how these swaps have been going. I like your idea for a dropped month! That's a good plan for those that have missed a month!
Christinmay and Far North, that's too bad, but I understand how things happen last minute and busy birthday months!
If time allows later on in the month, just let me know and I can always work out something for a swap. This goes for anyone else as well!
Getting ready to post the Swap Partner thread! |
