Many of you have been kind enough to to give me on my wall of punches organization, so I thought you might be interested to also see my flair and brad organization/art boards which I just posted on my blog, but the pictures are below for you to see. I figure they can serve as decoration in my scrapbook loft while waiting to be used in my projects. The extras I keep in jars close by and can easily fill in the ones I remove.

Aaaw, that looks so pretty! Really great idea - These flares are so pretty, it's nice so have them on display before you use them, then you get to enjoy them even more |

Can I just say "WOW!" They're too pretty for me to use, I'd have to keep them up for decoration and rebuy the flair/brads for actual use
Seriously, wonderful job, they're beautiful!

Do you explain how you made these on your blog? Can you point me there?
I really like the ideas, and I have plenty of art trays & frames I could use for this, but I'm wondering what else is involved?
I can use styrofoam sheets behind flair (don't need too much depth for sticking in pins), but don't brads need a little more depth? What did you put behind the brads to keep them in the frame?
And is that fabric or patterned paper (behind both brads and flair)??
Thanks for sharing!!

What a beautiful way to store your brads - plus I'm another of those scrappers who uses what she can see!
A very appropriate thread, as I just this minute opened my latest 2 Peas order containing.....Brads!
I must admit, until last wk I wasn't seeing the "big deal". Then while working on an Amy Tangerine "sketchbook" layout, I kept wishing I had some fun dimensional embellishments to add. So I bit the bullet and bought these fabric brads .
Since the price was right and the package contained lots of "doesn't-have-to-be-only-for-Christmas" brads I got
these as well!
Now that I have them in my tiny little hands, I'm already wondering why I took so long to jump on the brad train! They are SOOO PRETTY!
Let this be a lesson to others: Peas have great taste - don't doubt their "addictions"!

Sorry I haven't responded sooner...I've been sick for about 3 weeks and I had a lot of things to catch up on today. So I'm just now settling down in front of my computer. I do explain it a little bit further on My Blog. But to answer questions directly:
How have you attached the flair to the tray?
I used my ATG to just run a bit of adhesive directly on the wooden tray and then I cut a piece of patterned paper to fit each square and pressed it in to place. I used a glue dot to adhere the Flair to the paper. The flair has foam adhesive on the back, but most of it wasn't sticky anymore. The ones that were, I just applied it directly to the paper. I figure I can pull it off to use it and just use another glue dot of some liquid glue like Glossy Accents.
I just pinned both of these fabulous ideas. Hope that's ok!
Sure...pin away! I get so much inspiration from Pinterest, I'm always happy to share.
I can use styrofoam sheets behind flair (don't need too much depth for sticking in pins), but don't brads need a little more depth? What did you put behind the brads to keep them in the frame?
My Flair doesn't have pins...it's specifically for scrapbooking and comes with foam adhesive on it.
The brads are stuck directly into patterned paper and then I folded the brads in place. Very simple. That frame recedes in the center to the glass part about 1/2" so there's lots of room and I could have left them sticking straight back...actually some with the shorter brads I did, but then the longer pronged brads I folded them in place like you normally do with a brad. That extra space on this frame helped with the bulk of the brads in the back. I just used my ATG to glue the paper on the outer edge... if it was right up against the glass it might look bumpy.
And is that fabric or patterned paper (behind both brads and flair)??
Patterned paper, but fabric would be nice too!

Just to clarify what I'm talking about in the post above about the brads. I took a picture of it and posted it on my blog. |
