I've never been that interested in shoes. I have only a fraction of the number of pairs that most women have. I have very few heels, and usually only buy them for a specific event to wear with a particular dress.
But I was browsing in the thrift store on the weekend, not even looking for shoes, and saw these and could not resist them! I have never had a pair of heels this high. Never even contemplated it. Swore, actually, that I never would. Yet I tried them on, checked myself out in the mirror, and promptly put them in my cart.
I know I will never wear them anywhere but at home. I immediately envisioned them as an accessory for a self-portrait session (and then wore them yesterday for just that purpose).
They were much more than I'd normally pay for a pair of shoes from the thrift store. But they were brand new, no scuffs on the sole. And they are leather, and clearly well made. So I paid my $17.99, despite feeling that it was a frivolous purchase.
Turns out they are designer shoes by Stuart Weitzman, and it would seem retail for between $300-$400. So, they were actually a steal!
I just love them! I think they are drop dead sexy. They have a 1" platform and 5" heels!! I am an Amazon when I put them on, rofl!

Thank you, ladies.
Lisa (ETA and Ginny), even if I had a place or event to wear them to, I wouldn't. I am 6'3" when I have them on, lol! Almost 3" taller than dh. So they are strictly for at home.
Peajays, I seem to be fortunate when it comes to my thrift store shopping. I bought a designer dress for the same price just before Christmas. Floor length, long sleeves, black velour, full skirt with thigh high gauzy peek-a-boo panels.
I paired it up with the shoes for a photo session for dh. |

Those are gorgeous!!! And unless my dh had a problem with it, I would so wear those when going out. When I wear my heels, I have been taller than guys I'm dating and they have never minded. Plus I feel so powerful and sexy. With my heels I am 6ft to 6'1" |

Woo Hoo....now THAT'S a score!! My radar would have been going insane the minute I got near the shoe aisle if it picked up a signal from a pair of Stuart Weitzman shoes!!! Those things will last you until the next millennium!
I, of course, being 5' 1" standing on my tip toes, never wear anything less than a 6" heel, but I could force myself for those babies

Peabay, that is good to know!
Margie, I don't know if he'd mind or not. I have been out with men who are shorter than I am. But he was 5'6" and obviously shorter than average, so I didn't feel that 'I' was freakishly tall.
I wish I had your confidence!
Thanks, gar.
I-95, I had never heard of Stuart Weitzman before. I just thought that they seemed to be well made, and I loved the look of them.

Thanks for viewing and commenting everyone.
I-95 you're the opposite of dh. His dad, mom and brother are all short, while he is just over 6'.
Jeremysgirl, I was wearing dressier jeans when I tried them on, and you're right, they did look awesome.

You mean you aren't planning on wearing them to your local mall when shopping?
There's nothing like watching a couple of teenage girls with their dates trying to walk on the uneven surfaces in the mall in the highest heels they can find while doing their best to look good.
Nice shoes. Great deal. May they bring you to places wonderful.

I am exactly like you Heartcat, I rarely wear heels. I only have one pair and they aren't very high and they're a bit dorky LOL! But if I saw those shoes for that price I would buy them too.
