Hey ladies!!

I offered to take over starting the thread each week since I have a long way to go in this pregnancy and many of us are so close to meeting our new ones. In case you missed it, SeikesHaven posted a picture of her Little Miracle. Congrats!!

I'm somewhere around 8 weeks. I have an appointment today to see if we can see the little bean and hear a heartbeat. I'll update after the appointment. Hopefully, we will have a better idea how far a long we are, since I know I'm not as far as long as they calculated based on my last period.

Question of the week: How did you announce your pregnancy to family and friends? Any special ways?

Thanks for starting the thread. Anxiously awaiting news on your appointment. Hearing and seeing the heartbeat is such a relief! Hope it goes well.

38 weeks tomorrow. I have 11 days till my cesarean. I'm getting so excited, now that everything is ready for his arrival. I have my weekly appt tomorrow, but other than that no real news for me.

Qotw: I bought dd a tshirt that says "big sister" on it. I put it on her to show her daddy. Then we texted a pic of her in it to my mom and sister that live out of town. After we saw the heartbeat we took dd to a family party wearing the shirt for everyone to see. It was fun!

Good luck at your appointment today! I hope you see a strong and healthy little jelly bean in there!

35 weeks. We go and see the perinatologist on Friday for our ultrasound to check out his kidneys some more. :/ Still refusing to get worked up about it though. I am getting worked up about our hospital center banning children from the offices and actual hospital. I understand that they are doing it to help combat the spread of the flu, and for that I am grateful. However, it does create a bit of a child-care situation for me, especially now that I have to start going for checks every week. We'll get it figured out though.

I found this idea on Pinterest several months before I got pregnant, and knew this was the way to announce this pregnancy: Baby Announcement . I printed up little signs for my kids to hold, and had them sit on our front stairs and took pictures of each one holding each sign. My daughter held the ultrasound photo though-my son was not in the mood and I was afraid he would destroy it. I took the photos and imported them into Photoshop, and then I plugged them into a digital frame designed to look like a film negative. Then we printed them out, and either hand delivered them or mailed them to our immediate families. We were able to see both sets of parents reactions (and one sibling/family reaction). It was awesome and hysterical! Everyone loved it. When we got back from our vacation, we put the photo of the film negative up on Facebook for our friends and extended family to see. Great reactions.

Hi Pregnant Peas!
I just started week15. We told our girls this week that they are going to have a baby brother. I piped icing inside three cupcakes and waited for them to discover the icing and ask about it. What I didn't count on was that they were so excited to get cupcakes on a weekday that they scarfed them down without noticing. DH and I had to prod them ... "why is there blue icing in there? What could that mean?". Our youngest daughter yelled "because of my blue pants!". We basically had to spell it out

Other than that excitement.i have nothing to report! Which, I guess, Is good. good luck to everyone as your due dates approach!!!

Hi all. 34.5 weeks here. I'm feeling tired alot. I swear I'm sleeping as much as I did my first trimester. And my pelvic pain and pressure is getting worse too. I think he is making his way down but I won't know if he is the right direction until Monday. But I have been feeling him move differently than I was before so I'm crossing my fingers that maybe he's in the right position. Im having a lot of mixed feelings about trying to turn him. I plan on asking my doctor a lot of questions.

Qotw: to tell hubby i took a pic of my positive test and framed it and gave it to him. For my mom we bought her a picture frame and out a note in the frame that said baby number two was on its way. She lives out of state so it seemed more practical for her. For Mil who lives down the street we sent her flowers and the card told her she was gonna be a grandma again.

With our first we bought onesies that said "I love grandma and grandpa" and we agave them to each set of grandparents.

Well I am pretty sure I lost my mucus plug today.(sorry if its TMI) I've been having period like cramps all night and a few contractions here and there. I guess we will see what the doc says tomorrow.

Well my appointment went well and we got to see the little McNugget and the little heart fluttering away. I measured 7 weeks 3 days yesterday, which is way earlier than I predicted I was. I was thinking I was closer to 8 weeks plus a few days, however I really have no idea when I ovulated as we weren't charting and my cycles range from 32-38 days (never the same). Anyone else measure smaller than they thought? The only reason I ask is because you always hear stories (and yes the internet is not a friend) about people having MC that were measuring smaller because the fetus wasn't developing at the right rate. I don't go back for another 4.5 weeks as that's the earliest appointment they have to see the MD, even though they want to see me in 3 weeks. I may try to call and see if anything opens up sooner and closer to 3 weeks for peace of mind and because after we see the next scan we will be ready to announce it those who don't already know.

Starla

With this baby when I went in based on my LMP, I should have been 10 weeks. But my ultrasound said 6 weeks. I was a little freaked thinking baby was too small and something was wrong. But heartbeat was good. Here I am many months later and all is well. I have irregular cycles so I wasn't too suprised that things were off date wise.

Try not to worry.

I have very irregular cycles. Based on LMP they always (2 pregnancies) think I should be further ahead. A friend recently had a MC and was measuring less than what she thought. But they could not get a heartbeat at her first appt.

I think I heard somewhere that sperm can hang out for a few days before attaching to the egg.

Thanks Kimber. I'm trying not to worry, but when you know a bit too much medical jargon and information due to your job (I'm a pharmacist) it's hard not to determine you have every ailment possible based on your symptoms. I did see the heartbeat, didn't hear it though, so I'm just remembering that until I go back in 4 weeks.

Starla- I've heard once you see a heartbeat your chances of miscarriage go down by a lot. Like 90% or something. Here's hoping for a happy and healthy baby!

Just a little update. My c-section was originally scheduled for 5 pm on the 8th. They just called and said it has been moved up to noon!! Now I don't have to be hungry all day.

Also I had more spotting last night. Still no major contractions, so I don't know what that's about. Baby is doing well and wiggling away. Guess we will see.

I was 90% effaced and 2 cm dilated on Monday, at 37 weeks. Pretty sure the dr swept my membranes without telling me. Said she would be here anytime. I also had an awful sinus infection which has since spread to my ears. So I've taken 4 days off of work so I could get over it before the baby comes. Doula said my body would hold off til I was better.

I'm feeling better today. Seem to be losing parts of my mucus plug. Hoping she's here by Monday.

VexedAngel- Could be any minute! I bet you will go very soon. I hope you get feeling better before then. Crossing my fingers for you. Come back with pics for us! Good luck!

Congrats to all. I am not a pregnant pea (youngest is 22) but I marvel at how things have changed. My oldest is 30 and I got to hear his heartbeat but NEVER had an ultrasound and saw him for the first time at birth!

So glad they have all the medical advances that they do.

Hi ladies! Hope everyone is doing well. I'm 30 weeks & still trying to take it super easy. I did a little more than my "norm" on Sunday & had more contractions than usual for the next 3 days. Guess that was my reminder that this baby's needs have to take priority over everyone & everything else.

Starla -- so glad you got to see the heartbeat

Brandi -- glad they were able to move up your c-section time. My c-section with DD was at 4 in the afternoon (it was unscheduled) and that makes for a VERY hungry long day. Don't think I got to eat until the next day.

PierKiss -- what a cute announcement idea! I hope your ultrasound tomorrow brings some good news.

JustKatie -- too funny about your girls & the cupcakes!

Kimber -- glad to hear your BP is down & hoping the little guy switches to the right position for you

VexedAngel -- sounds like you are getting close! Hope your sinus infection clears up quickly.

QOTW -- I was shocked when I got the + this time because I had tested 4 or 5 days earlier when my RE told me too & that one was negative. It was 6:00 a.m. and I went & woke my DH up and told him. He just smiled.

My MIL found out because she was babysitting our DD & the perinatologist office called and gave her the info about my appointment. I was po'd. We just called the rest of the family.

Hi Ladies,
My heart skipped a beat when I saw this thread pop up, I am not pregnant myself, but as close as one could get to that! My daughter just announced she expecting! Yay I am going to be a grandma! She is very early in the pregnancy, maybe 7 weeks. Her first appointment is next week, so they will maybe somehow be able to give her a more accurate due date??

I don't know how any of this works these days, my youngest is 26 so we didn't get even an ultrasound unless there was a problem. I am curious how often you routinfly get those, when is the first one?? Hope you won't mind me coming here with questions once in a while.

Best wishes to those of you in the early stages of labor right now I hope all goes well for you. Cindy

CindyLou

I got an ultrasound at my first appt to help determine my due date. Then I had one at 9 weeks, 13 weeks, and the anatomy(you can also find out the sex) at 20 weeks. Some places also offer a 3D ultrasound in your third trimester. Those are pretty cool cuz you can see facial features and everything. But it depends on the doctor some dont do them as often.
