I wandered down the furniture at my Costco today and stumbled upon one of those super cool "project tables." You know, the lovely ones wit the shelves on all the sides like they sell at Pottery Barn. Here's the kicker: it was only $200. I couldn't believe it. We are in the process of trying to sell our house for a larger one, so I don't even have room for it right now. I walked away, but my husband said he was getting it anyway, because he didn't want me to ask for the PB version for $1200 when we did move. Smart man! Too bad it will just be sitting in it's box for a long while.

I'd love to have one of those project tables. Unfortunately the room I have is too small for one... Or I just have too much stuff. LMBO
Hmmm... Hubby will be getting cash rewards check soon...so we'll have to go to Costco to spend it. I'll have to look!!

Personally, I would want to check all the pieces to make sure everything is fine. What will happen is something is wrong when you finally set it up, and then they don't sell it any more?

The one I saw at my Costco was much bigger and heavier than the Sauder table shown. It was a desk, with shelves in front and back, on both sides. It had a huge work surface.
But it was heavy. DS was with me and tried to lift a corner. He says it's heavier than the desk in DD's room, and that sucker weighs a ton.
If I had room for it, and if we weren't thinking of moving, I would seriously consider getting it. |

It's an espresso finish. 3 ft wide x 5 ft deep and it's bar height, so you'd need a bar stool or other taller chair for it.

Awesome!
I made something similar by using two of the 8 cubbie Expedits, and one 4 cubbie Expedit from IKEA, with one of their table tops laid on top.
It holds a ton of stuff and is a perfect standing height (I tend to stand to work because I find it impossible to get things lined up straight when I sit! ).
Enjoy your new worktable when you can set it up. We will, of course, want to see a photo! |

That is what is shown on the receipt.
As for the size of the compartments, it is shown to fit the same type of fabric basket that fits into an Ikea Expedit, but sizes are all customizable. It just depends on how you want it when you assemble it. |

Thanks everybody. I am so excited, now I just need a new house to go with my new table (and yes, I realize how crazy that sounds). I think mine was the last one at that particular warehouse. I asked if they were getting more in but they said they were moving gardening stuff in and furniture out. It's so weird, because I went down that aisle just last week. So I am wondering if they just got one shipment? | |
