Can anyone let me know of their favorite smudge proof journaling pen; one for slicker surfaces? Thanks for any help.

I use Staedtler Lumocolor permanent markers which are more office supply than scrapbooking but they dry instantly even on transparencies (which is what they are made for). I am pretty sure AC slick writers work in a similar fashion. I have purchased two packs locally and they dry up super fast (like one marker was dry when I bought it) so I started using these which I already had. You may have better luck buying here where the turnover is better. I think my store may have just had very old stock.

My personal favorite for slick surfaces is the American Crafts Slick Writer.

Souffle pens also work for slick surfaces. I probably wouldn't buy them just for that purpose, but that's another use for them if you already have some in your stash!

I also try to avoid those slick journaling cards - it's hard to tell if they are slick or not sometimes in the descriptions, but a lot of times there is almost no pen you can use that works on those surfaces. Slick Writer has been the best I've used, though.

I use a fine point Sharpie. But I know they are not archival safe.

For what it is worth, the Staedtlers will write on almost anything. They will even write over the ink resist on color magic products. I feel like they are better than my sharpies.

I also use fine point sharpies and I really don't stress over the acid free or archival safe thing. Amy Tangerine new line also has slick writers with great colors, however I usually stick to brown, grey, black or turquoise when I journal.

Not sure of the specific brand or name, but I use a pen that's designed for writing on photos. It doesn't smudge on label stickers, etc.
