Finally Friday with Laura Craigie
Hey Peas! Excited to share today's Finally Friday card with you! I wanted to create something a little different and I used my Silhouette machine to cut out a card with a window flap. If you don't have a silhouette you can use an exacto knife or a paper trimmer to create a similar look :)
I used one of my new favorite stamps which is a background stamp by Hero Arts in wood grain, and used clear embossing powder on it.
Then I used paper and buttons by October Afternoon, finished with a sentiment sticker by Doodlebug. I LOVE their sentiment stickers, just perfect for cardmaking.
My challenge for you today is to make an interactive card, with a window, or flap.

Memory Keeping Monday with Shannon Tidwell
Hi! Thanks for stopping by for my Memory Keeping Monday segment this week. I opted to follow the 'Then & Now' theme for my layout...and even stole it for my title. I've created a boy sports themed layout with some fun touches. Even though this is a sports themed layout I was able to create something that isn't overly sporty. It's masculine, but still flirty and fun.
A 'Then & Now' layout doesn't have to span a huge amount of time. With kids big changes happen in just a few short years....or even months. I know we will get a laugh out of this layout when he's 18...what a comparison layout I'll be able to do then! So join me on this challenge this week to do a 'Then & Now' layout whether it's a picture from waaaaay back, or just recent enough to notice a change. Maybe you could do a layout about your weight loss, a child's vocabulary improvements, from dating to married life, or from married to single, hair styles of past & present, or maybe you have a piece of clothing or furniture that is still being used 'then & now'! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thanks for joining me! Here's a video of the products I used, my thought process, the layout creation, and final product...

Glitter Girl Adventure 006: Theme or Not To Theme
In this week's adventure, Glitter Girl tackles a rather literary scrapbooking issue: to theme or not to theme, that is the question! It's an issue currently being discussed here on the General Scrapbooking message board at Two Peas. This week Glitter Girl opens two albums to illustrate a few different ideas other than obviously themed pages, including a wedding album made with hardly any wedding-specific products and a travel album made by including themed embellishments but in small amounts. Then she takes on the challenge of creating a page with themed supplies in unexpected ways, including autumn, Valentine, 1950s and school themed supplies in a layout about... kangaroos.
Some further notes on themed scrapbooking: of course, it is ultimately up to every scrapbooker to choose the supplies that are the most fun and enjoyable for her crafting. That might mean you prefer to use plenty of themed supplies and papers! Glitter Girl is very aware that many scrappers need to stretch their crafting budgets further, and with that comes the need for supplies to be versatile so there's no wasted investment. What gets bought for Christmas pages can still be used for spring or travel or next autumn, for example - which means dots and stripes can be a wiser investment than Christmas trees and baubles. But there's also potential in looking at your themed supplies in a new way and seeing what other themes can come from that sheet of stickers, paper design or set of embellishments.
She also shares two technique tricks in this week's project: making a fabric flower using Studio Calico Fabrips and Cosmo Cricket Glubers adhesive and creating a border with the Jenni Bowlin Tickets Please border punch. For further details on that punch, you might want to check out
this discussion
on the message board with plenty of helpful advice from the Two Peas community!
Come along for the adventure, won't you?
