The next few months are going to be very exciting for Two Peas in a Bucket. We have a lot on our plates, things penciled on our calendars and dreams being made realities. We have been working on some fun new looks for the site. I have been devoting time to getting the store restocked and reenergized. I am eager to watch it all unfold. I can't wait to share my vision and dreams for Two peas as they are programmed and revealed. You're going to love it.

Kristina

Announcement

On Monday May 1st, we made the follwing public announcement on our message boards:

Two Peas in a Bucket is pleased to announce that it has been acquired by Kaboose, Inc. Kaboose is the largest independent online media company in the kids and family market and is a top global Internet destination for kids and families looking for entertaining, interactive and educational content. Kaboose is comprised of three main online properties (Funschool.com, Zeeks.com and Kaboose.com) and an e-commerce site, BirthdayinaBox.com. The three main properties combined have in excess of 12,000 pages of content and over 500 proprietary games and educational activities.

This new relationship is bringing a wealth of opportunity to Two Peas in a Bucket, its users as well as the scrapbooking industry. Having Kaboose and its properties as available resources, Jeff and I are planning to update and grow the site over the next few months.

This next step will allow us to enable our community to evolve and grow. The online store will be re-energized with new drive and focus with new inventory, new kits, new ideas, new promotions and a new organization. The community areas and resources at Two Peas will grow exponentially in the next year. Included in this are online classes and other exciting media presentations. The properties that Kaboose brings into this, only intensifies the offerings that we have to provide to our user base, something that no other online scrapbook website has to offer.

On a personal note, Jeffrey and I are very excited about this relationship with Kaboose. Jeffrey and I will continue to be the face of Two Peas. In moving into this next stage of business growth we will be able to see the realization of the dreams we’ve had for the site, our customers and the scrapbooking industry as a whole. Please watch as we bring amazing things to Two Peas in the coming months. We encourage you to communicate with us and let us know your excitement upon seeing the new Two Peas. We also encourage you to visit the other Kaboose sites and see how great this company is; we really believe in their mission, and hope that you do as well.

Trend Watch By Marie Cox
Stitching is the new Black. It's everywere you look...on rub ons, papers, digital brushes...people draw them on their pages. It's such a cool way to add texture to your page or tag too. On this page I just grouped a bunch of photos together and used my sewing machine to stitch around them and it only took about 3 minutes.
Tips for machine sewing:
Change your needle often as paper will make it dull
Always do a test stitch with scrap paper
If you have problems with your stitches...check your tension...it needs to be looser with paper
Don't forget that handsewing is fun and easy as well.

when did you start scrapbooking? how were you introduced to it?
I was introduced to scrapbooking about 10 years ago (I can't believe it's been that long!!! i feel old. lol). I learned about stickers and an archival pen. That was about it back then. Shortly after I got married in 1996 I made a scrapbook for my mom of a family vacation and had such a good time with it that I would make pages every once in awhile. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my first baby that I started doing more layouts. That was 7 1/2 years ago and I haven't stopped since.

What are your sources for inspiration?
All over the place. Billboards, junk mail, commercials, magazines, target displays, graffiti, Ads, funny things my kids say, stories I want to remember and last but not least my fellow GG's.

How do you get started on projects (layouts, etc)?
I just go through my pictures until I find one that I feel I have something to say about at that moment. I look for papers and cardstock to go with the picture and mood and just kind of run with it from there.

What things do you like to communicate through your work?
That I love my family. I want them to know that when they look at pages of themselves and that there would be no doubt at that. I want them to see themselves the way I see them.

What have been your biggest achievements or greatest layouts or moments with this hobby?
definitely being a Garden Girl. I can't believe that I'm approaching my 6th year of being here. I am so lucky to still be a part of such a wonderful team of women. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I also loving being on the KI Memories team.

What kind of goals do you have with your scrapbooking?
That I keep the love I have for this hobby. I want to continue having fun and learning in growing in my style, layouts, etc. It might be fun to be able to do some product design someday.

Where do you scrap? do you attend crops or conventions?
I share my formal dining room with my husband. He has half (well, 1/3) of the room for all the computer stuff and I took over the rest with my scrapbooking stuff. I don't go to crops that often - I'd have to pack up all my stuff....not an easy thing to do. I do like to have people over for scrapbook nights though. I go to the Seattle Convention sometimes...that is fun.

Where does scrapbooking fit into your life? do you scrap in the morning, evening, late night? when do you do your greatest work?
I mainly scrapbook in the afternoon while my toddler takes his naps. Occasionally I like to stay up at night while everyone is sleeping and scrapbook.

What does your family think of your scrapbooking?
I am very lucky that they're totally supportive. My kids love to look at my books. I got my little sister into it as well. :)

Do you have a favorite product line, paper, sticker, or cardstock color?
my favorite line is KI Memories. Love the bright fun colors - they just make me happy. My favorite color is cardstock is parakeet. I LOVE it...the PERFECT green (now you're all going to go out and buy it and I won't be able to find it. lol save me a couple pieces). I also love fonts and using them on my layouts in new ways.

what do you want the peas to know about you?
I am a mom, wife, scrapbooker, photographer, friend, family, target lover, bargin shopper, TV watcher, music lover, blogger, font maker, time waster, garden girl, game lover, procrastinator, and more.

i love what I do. :)
