This is meant to be a quick reference for journaling help. How you use it is entirely up to you!
your: Belonging to you. "Your album is beautiful!"
its: Belonging to it. "The dog wagged its tail so hard, we thought it was going to fall over."
there: In that location. "Who lives in that house over there?" "There are no more photos of Johnny's party."
whose: Belonging to which person. "Whose layout is this with the pink eyelets?"
then: Used for time, or to show a causal relationship.
"If you apologize, then he'll forgive you." "I'm not as skinny as I was
back then."
here: In this location. "I want to put a sticker here."
lay: Put or place something down. "Please lay the cardstock on the table next to the trimmer." compliment: Praise. "She looked at my album and complimented me on all my layouts."
stationary: Not moving. "The elephant remained stationary despite the zookeeper's pushing."
past: Used for time or distance. "We drove past the
scrapbook store but it was closed." "I used to be crazy about the Spice
Girls, but I'm past that now." accept: Receive willingly, approve. "Please accept this token of my appreciation." "My layout was accepted for publication!"
peek: A quick glance. "Take a peek in the box and tell me what you see."
pore: To read or study carefully and attentively. "I pored over the layouts in the Gallery." a lot (meaning a large amount of something) is always two words. voila comes from a French expression meaning "look there!" Often misspelled as "Walla!" |
