PeaBoard Title: Autism doesn't have a mute button...
I wear many hats in life: I started out my adult life as a counseling psychologist who prefered teaching college and grad school as my job duties. I then met and married my wonderful dh, also a psychologist, who happens to be employed by the US Navy. So, I added Navy wife to my duties.
We had two boys, both who have been diagnosed with autism, so now they are my primary focus in life. I teach night school at a local university and work as a Special Ed Parent Liaison for my local school system, but my kids are my center. With the explosion in autism, my job with our school system keeps me busy raising autism awareness and helping parents who are trying to navigate the special education system (which is a labyrinth). But, I get my boys on the bus each morning and am back home from work to get them off the bus in the afternoon.
