SOF11 Celebrate Just Because

SOF11 Celebrate Just Because

Challenge Dates: October 1, 2011 through October 16, 2011

I'd like you to create a hand-stamped (non digital) card, ATC or other mailable object to send to a friend or relative just because it's ........  (insert the unique holiday here).  Stamp a little hint of the holiday on the envelope too, as much or as little as you like, but DO decorate the envelope.  Oh, and don't forget to mail it!

Use some of your neglected stamps to celebrate a unique/bizarre holiday in October.

1. Choose your obscure holiday (don't choose Halloween, make it something out of the ordinary!) from the month of October.  I found this list on the web :

3.  Decorate (at least one stamped image) the envelope to give a hint of the celebration inside.
4.  Surprise someone when you send it off in the mail!

Other Requirements:
Check the challenge box when you upload your project to the gallery.

Show us your project and your envelope in one gallery posting, with the project first.  (peamail me if you need help)

Tell what stamp(s) you used and which holiday you are celebrating in the description section of your gallery post.

Post a link to your gallery post in the discussion thread in the Stamping Forum.

I hope you have fun with this and use some of your more unique stamps.  Give those birthday stamps a rest!  This might also be a chance to use your alphabet stamps, although it's not required.

Can project be combined with other SOF Challenges?:   fine with me

For example :
I saw a Lefty card that opened from the left!  August 13th is Lefty Day.  I made a Lefty card and mailed it to my left-handed daughter with a pair of lefty scissors.   I'm not sure I took a picture, but if I find it I'll post it.
You must know someone who would love to get mail.  Find a reason to celebrate and surprise them!

If you click here you can find out more about each October holiday listed above.
