Heritage Challenge #10 Last one!
Heritage Challenge #10
Free for All! - Since this is my last Heritage Challenge post, I decided to make it as easy as I can - that means ANY layout goes as long as it has at least ONE photo that is 1970's or older! You are allowed to mix new photos with the old this month. Perhaps comparing Now and Then etc. What ever you want to scrap, go for it. Anyone who posts at least one new layout to the thread on the General Scrapping Board in December gets put into drawing for a $10 gift certificate from 2 Peas. Your name will only be put in once but you may scrap as many pages as you wish.
This is my last Heritage Challenge Post - If someone wants to pick it up in 2011 go ahead. I plan to post a thread from time to time to check how everyone is doing. Have a blessed holiday season!

Heritage Challenge #9 - Tell a Story
Heritage Challenge #9 - Tell a Story
Let's focus on journaling this month. Your challenge is to tell some kind of story to go with your heritage photos. It may be a story about the person pictured, funny or serious. It may be a story about the origins of your family name, or where they came from. It may be a story about yourself from a random memory. Easy as pie - no other complicated requirements.
Photos this month may be from any decade 1970's and before.

Heritage Challenge 2010 #8 - Explore your Heritage
1. In honor of Two Peas stamping month our first challenge will be to use stamps on a heritage layout. Check out the stamping event and maybe you can win something with your heritage layout.
2. Use photos from 2 or more different decades on a layout. A while back I did a layout with photos of my mom on her birthday over a period of time. I had a lot of fun with it. I have also seen neat layouts comparing photos from different time periods.
3. 1980's photos - This is an exception to our rule of 1970's and older photos. I was watching "I Love the 80's" on VH1 and was surprised how much I had actually forgotten about the 80's. It doesn't seem that long ago to me but it is getting more so all the time.
Remember, you do not need to do all of the above. You may do the challenges separately or combine.

General Guidelines:
Have fun this month and as always, I look forward to what you come up with.

WELCOME TO THE HERITAGE CHALLENGE
2010 Challenge #6 - June 21 - July 31
We are nearly halfway through 2010 already - my how time flies! I know I have had a busy spring and beginning of summer as have many of you. As we hit the hot days of July, I'm thinking we will want to spend time indoors where it is cooler and what better to do than scrapbook!
As in the previous 5 challenges for 2010 you will have several choices to challenge you.

Challenge #6 1-2 will get 2 points each and all catch-up layouts will receive 1 point each. The winner at the end of the challenge will receive their choice of a $10 gift certificate to the Two Peas store OR a surprise package of vintage scrapbooking items chosen by me :) So let's dust off those heritage photos and get to scrappin!

Hello to all you Heritage Scrappers!
Challenge #4 - April 12 - May 23 (Six Weeks)
1. Snapshots and Candid photos. Sometimes we shy away from the less than perfect photos. Let's see what we can do with these. I'd especially like to see some on the more humorous side so the more unusual and funny the better . Have fun with it. If not a funny photo, any non-formal photo will do.
2. Time period challenge - The 1950's
That is it for this month! Go for it!

MME Blast from the Past Challenge
I did a layout for The My Mind's Eye Blast from the past challenge. I've loved MME for a long time and have a lot of their papers and embellishments. This challenge allowed us to dig into our stash and use older products. Heritage is my favorite type of scrapbooking so I also chose heritage photos to use for my layout.

This is the sketch for the challenge.
Here is my take on the sketch using the following products: Background paper from MME Where the Heart Is by Zoe Pearn, the blue flowers below the photos are also from Where the Heart is and were cut from a sheet of patterned paper. 2 Journaling blocks and 2 border stickers from the Tres Jolie line. The lace is antique and the 2 photo corners are from Heidi Swapp. The title was printed on an ink jet transparency in olive colored ink and cut out. Although not nearly as professionally done as some I've seen for this challenge, I am happy with the resulting page and enjoyed completeing this challenge.

2010 Heritage Challenge #2 (Six Weeks)
Since February is a short month I've lengthened our next challenge to 6 weeks. February 1-March 14
General Guidelines:
Topics for This Challenge are
Decade/Time Period Challenge
Layouts with photos from the 1970's
Product Challenge
Do a layout using either cardstock only OR patterned paper only. You may use embellishments, but the paper needs to be either CS or PP.
Don't forget, anyone may post a pop up challenge. Don't be shy!
For a little extra boost there will be a little RAK at the end of this challenge. For this first prize of the year I'm going to make it easy. Anyone who completes at least ONE of the above challenges will be entered into the drawing. To be eligible you must post a link to your project in the current Heritage Challenge thread on the General Scrapping board. You may do as many challenges as you want but your name will be in the drawing only once. Easy as pie!
