Finally Friday Card Video: Laugh

Finally Friday Card video with Kristina Werner

Hi all! I've had this little "Laugh" banner sitting on my desk and it was just calling out to used on a card. I thought it would be fun to create a "string" that the banner could hang on.

And using the Collage Press 6x6 papers with a stamped and embossed background using the Hero Arts / BasicGrey Life of the Party Stars stamp was the perfect background for the banner. :)

CHALLENGE: Create a banner on a card--either with stickers like I did, or by creating your own. Upload your creation to the TwoPeas gallery and select this week's Finally Friday challenge.

From Start to Finish: Celebrate Being a Girl

From Start to Finish Video with Nichol Magouirk: Celebrate Being a Girl

This week's layout and video features 4x6 traditional photos (from a film camera) and of course, stamping!

I had previously scrapbooked these photos of my daughter when she was just a toddler on a 2-page layout that although was pretty, it definitely didn't tell any sort of a story whatsoever. There was no journaling and the entire focus of the page was on the "stuff" and not the photos + the story. I decided to give these photos the do-over treatment. Because I had added some eyelets to the corners of a couple of the photos, I cropped the photos down to 3.5x5 for my page.

I added a stamped title using Ali Edwards stamps (colored in with Faber Castell Big Brush Markers in Scarlet Red 118, Orange Glaze 113, May Green 170 & Light Cobalt Turquoise 154). I also included a stamped word in the journaling using another new Ali Edwards stamp set.

The accents were created using the MME Stella Rose doily stamps and punching out the stamped images with circle punches.

CHALLENGE: Use stamps to create a title and/or accent for your next layout.
From Start to Finish Series Challenges are weekly. This challenge goes until May 4, 2011.

Finally Friday: Our Friendship

Hi all! Wow, this card took a long time to make for such a simple card. I think it took over 30 minutes, which I think is pretty lengthy for how simple it is. Oh, but it's worth it! And it was fun to make. :)

Anyhow, I tried a bit of Copic marker, a lot of embossing, and a bit of popped-up sections of a stamped image on this card. And that last little bit is your challenge for this week...

CHALLENGE: Create dimension on a stamped image by stamping it again, cutting out portions of the image, and adhering it to the original image with dimensional adhesive. Select this week's Finally Friday challenge when you upload it to the gallery.

Enjoy!

From Start to Finish Video with Nichol: Hello Christmas

From Start to Finish with Nichol Magouirk

I know a Christmas layout seems like a strange choice during these Spring months but I was wanting to update my "Christmas Card Photos from Friends & Family" album using the photo cards we received December 2010 and just felt like getting it done. This is probably my most favorite album. I absolutely love looking through it every year!

I will need to do an additional layout with the remaining photos (I will share that layout in another layout some other time).

If you would like to see additional layouts I've created for this album, click HERE.

I incorporated lots of stamping for this page. I stamped the edges of the journaling block with Lawn Fawn snowflake stamps. I also used the snowflake stamp on the circle tabs along the top border.

To create the postage stamp accents, I stamped the snowflake squares (Hero Arts) on ledger paper and punched out the image using a 1" square punch. Then I layered the stamped square on a punched postage shape. A button sewn on with Divine Twine completes the simple embellishment.

I used stamped words and a date (Lawn Fawn) on October Afternoon label stickers to finish the page.

CHALLENGE: Create a custom embellishment using stamping in your project, or incorporate stamping in a 2-page layout.

Thanks for looking!

Finally Friday Video with Kristina: Friend

Finally Friday Card Video with Kristina

Lots of stamping in this week's video. :) I wanted to create a single layer card with just a few embellishments (the hearts and brad), and the best way to do this was to create depth with layers of stamping.

I used the Nightfall Petal Point chalk inks from Colorbox with a bunch of stamps. The colors of ink worked out so well, and by using colors from the same box, it was easy to make sure the colors coordinated with one another.

Anyhow, enjoy!

CHALLENGE: Create a single-layer card. Upload your card to the gallery and select this week's challenge.

From Start to Finish Video with Nichol: Five

From Start to Finish video with Nichol: Five

For the entire month of April, From Start to Finish will feature stamping on each layout for the 30 Days of Stamping and Cardmaking Event.

For this week's layout I created I used one of my favorite stamping techniques: using white ink on vellum. I combined Ali Edwards March Studio AE stamp set Cake & Candles with her Kids are Cool stamp set to stamp a fun and easy border for this birthday layout. I love how the Cake & Candles set works just as well for a scrapbook layout as it does for cards.

CHALLENGE: Try stamping on vellum.

Finally Friday Video: Bring on the Happy

Bring on the Happy

Hi all! For this week's card, I wanted to do a few different things. First, I wanted to use scraps of patterned paper; second, I wanted to use Hero Art's Live & Laugh stamp set; and third, I wanted to create a thin 1/4" frame of cardstock. I did the last by using strips of cardstock. :)

Anyhow, enjoy!

CHALLENGE: Create a card with scraps of patterned paper. Select this week's challenge when you upload your card to the gallery. :)

From Start to Finish: Little Moments

From Start to Finish Layout Video with Nichol Magouirk: Little Moments

For the entire month of April, From Start to Finish will feature stamping on each layout for the 30 Days of Stamping and Cardmaking Event

For this week's layout I created a custom stamped journaling spot (very similar to April's Scrapbook Stamping Class [twopeasinabucket.com]) using Hero Arts, Unity and the Technique Tuesday Studio AE stamp set. I love the way colored stamping and copic coloring gives the homemade journaling spot a more "professional/pre-made" look.
