A few years of traditional scrapbooking, I attempted to get into digital scrapbooking with some of my cyber buddies at another forum site. I tried to follow along with their instructions, and techniques. I was immediately lost to tears and frustration. When I asked for more specific step by step instructions or translations, I was made to feel like I a lesser than intelligent being. I was made to feel like was speaking forgein language. I was in such agony that my lovely husband encouraged me to investigate the current software that we had. It was Microsoft Digital Suite Images.
One day before I had surgery, I decided to play around with the software since I was suppose to be “resting”. It was awesome. I did so many pages so fast I was instantly addicted to it. I immediately switched to digital scrapbooking. Go ahead call the old school police for “abandonment of supplies” charge now. I haven’t looked back. Don’t get me wrong, I still a ton of supplies; and use it for school projects and teaching tools.
Then horror struck with the arrival of a Santa laptop with windows vista. Windows Vista and Microsoft Digital Suite Images at the time were not a compactable software programs. They fight like a bully and its prey apparently. So, I remembered that it was suggested that you could use Microsoft Power Point to do Digital Scrapbooking. Again the knight in shining armor that my husband is he made sure I had a copy of power point installed in my laptop. Then the bloody trial and error, playing around with it, and not able to figure out how to use the software lots of tears of not being able to continue digital scrapbooking. I had even written an editor of a scrapbooking magazine (they will remain nameless at this point) to get instructions on how to use power point to digital scrapbook. I got some more frustrating internet site addresses with kerfuffle information of how to use the software.
After the above incident at other forum site, I was emotionally and mentally terrified to even try to ask a very simple question to anyone on any board about how to get started. Then a friend, who knew my pain, referred me to two peas in a bucket site. She said that I would find a place where I could communicate with others without fears of being made to feel small and unimportant. So, after I figured out how to make the size of my pages, insert background paper, and embellishments. I wanted to expand my knowledge and skills. That is when I posted my very first question. I couldn’t believe how kind, caring, understanding, respectful, and most of sharing everyone was. I can say this from the bottom of my heart, that if I had a problem or traumas in my life I know I can depend on everyone in the digital community for support.
Thank you two peasers!
