I'm super excited to announce our Hexagon Guest Designer - Carina Lindholm!

Short bio: Hello everyone! My name is Carina Lindholm. I live in a small town in Sweden with my husband and our three children, Marcus 9, Filip 7, and Alva 5 1/2. I’m a passionate paper crafter and you can find me at my scrap desk making layouts and cards every chance I get.

How did you get started scrapbooking? I actually stumbled upon the world of scrapbooking back in 2004, I got curious and googled it and fell instantly in love. And the rest is history.

What is your favorite American Crafts product? American Crafts truly has so many great products so it's almost impossible to choose just one favorite. But since I have to choose I choose the product that I use all the time and that is Thickers!

To make your hexagon shapes extra fancy just mat them on cardstock and cut a scalloped border around them using decorative scissors. I also added some hand stitching around the edges.

SAIL SMOOTH by Michelle Clement

I used the fun sailboat/summer theme of the 'Shoreline' collection to inspire a doodled, shaped embellishment for this card. The summer patterned paper colors and star stickers reminded me of the smaller sailboats on one of the patterned papers, so I decided to doodle a quick boat and fill the drawing in with loosely cut-out shapes and the perfect sized star sticker to complete this little themed card.

It's the middle of summer, but that's no reason not to dream of dancing in glowing, autumn afternoons and crisp, starry nights of our lively new collection, Pumpkin Patch. Cute critters come out to play with pumpkins, pinecones and foliage amidst the warm textures and colors of fall — from oranges and yellows to creams and greens.

I drew the clouds on white cardstock using the .05 tip Precision Pen. I colored them in with the new alcohol ink AC Markers. I attached the photo to a page from the Sketchbook Day Book. It opens to show an additional photo on the inside. I also used the markers around the outside edge of the page and added some twine to finish it off.

MY LOVE by Suzy Plantamura

I doodled the heart on the card using a .05 tip Precision Pen and then colored in the design using the new alcohol ink AC Markers called Chromatix. I folded over a page from the Sketchbook Day Book to make the card base and attached the heart to the top. I tied the yellow ribbon around the entire card so it has to be untied to see the greeting inside.

I'm excited to introduce our Summer Week Guest Designer - Heather Leopard!

Short bio: I'm a mommy to two adorable girls and a wonderful step-son with a hubby who supports my crafty obsessions. I'm lucky enough to work at home using my marketing background and passion for social media. I'm usually found in my office/craft room playing with papers, scissors, and embellies. My other obsessions include being a HUGE Rob Thomas fan as well as scuba diving all over the world (with sharks even).

How did you get started scrapbooking? My first recollection is making my first scrap in middle school, many eons ago. I had an old magnetic album and added little caption bubble stickers all over the photos. Life got busy during high school and college but I got back into it after my hubby and I married in 2002. Of course, the birth of our children just magnified my love for the hobby and I became obsessed with it a few years ago and now it’s just a part of my everyday life, in some form or fashion.

What is your favorite American Crafts product? Oh my, hard to choose but it’s got to be the Thickers. No, it’s the Remarks (have you seen how many stickers you get?) or maybe it’s the Bits… it’s hard to decide!

YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE, MY ONLY SUNSHINE. by Heather Leopard

I've been wanting to do this canvas for my daughter’s room and when I think of an ideal vacation, I think of the sun. This will be hanging in my daughter’s room so she can daydream of the beach and sunshiney days when she’s playing inside or if the skies are gray. I created this layout focusing on a day at the beach on a recent trip to the Gulf Coast. I wanted to create a series of suns so I cut circles from various papers and then cut them up and made new circles of varying papers via paper piecing. I stitched over them and then bent some of the edges to give it dimension.

SNOW CONES by Heather Leopard

Who doesn’t love a refreshing snow cone treat on a hot day in the sun? This was created using a clear card. I knew I wanted to create two scenes – one on the inside to write a message and the other on the front of the card. They would need to work together to be visually appealing when the card is closed. I covered the inside with the blue paper and positioned the center of the circle behind the pinwheel on the front cover. I added a journaling spot and flat embellies to the inside. Then I layered paper, fussy cut elements, and the pinwheel over the front.

Vacation adventures don’t have to include zip lining, airplanes, or water for that matter. This particular day, we had a staycation so we stayed and played with chalk. We created all sorts of themes but this one was a favorite. I sketched out a crown, wand, and frog and my daughter colored them in. We created this silly princess scene and had sooo much fun creating our own little adventure story.
