And now it's time for some gorgeous Couture crafts from Diane's workshop. You are going to love these elegant ideas! This little sewing box would make a great gift to your friends and family that love to sew! It is made with a G45 8x8 Matchbook Box. The box was sprayed black. Then ‘Gorgeous’ was used to cover the outer box leaving the center of it open. The inner box was then covered on the outside ends with the ‘Accessorize’ stripe paper. The inside of the box has compartments for scissors, spools of thread, a box for pins and other small items and a book is added for more storage and important notes. The compartments are made with ‘Style’ as the dividers and to line the bottom of the box. ‘Couture’ adds a splash of vibrant red on the inside of the box in one area. The G45 Small Altered Art Matchbook Box was also sprayed black and then covered with ‘Stunning’ and a tag is placed on top. A postcard was placed in one compartment along with an accordion booklet for notes. The tag book is made using black chipboard for the cover and spine. G45 Regular Tag Albums are used inside the book. The book is covered with ‘Style’ and a tag is placed on the front of the book.

This is a metal home decor shoe that has been covered in the new papers for the Couture line. The outside base of the shoe is covered with the backside of ‘’Couture’ and trimmed with ‘Fashion’. The Black and white stripe is ‘Accessorize’ and it accents the shoe along with a little bow that is wrapped in a leafy strip from ‘Beautiful’. The flower is made with ‘Gorgeous’ and ‘Classy’ and a beautiful vintage brooch was added to the inside. ‘Gorgeous’ lines the inside of the shoe as well as ‘Lovely’. The bottom of the shoe is covered with ‘Classy’ and the heel with ‘Couture’. Because this shoe was bought as a decorative piece, a pattern was first made with scrap paper then carefully cut out with the papers you see here. The paper can be changed easily in the future when you remove the existing paper to keep as a pattern.

Now it's time to enjoy some more inspiration for your weekend! We've got two incredible ideas for altered art boxes to share with you! First up is this adorable Mother Goose altered box by Nichola Battilana! This is a brilliant way to turn an old box into a vibrant work of art. There is something so gratifying about fixing up an old object and turning it into something so pretty! Plus altered art boxes like this one are a great way to create a beautiful gift on a budget! This sweet creation would look perfect in any room of the house! Get inspired with Nichola's dreamy Mother Goose altered box! Here is what she had to say about it!

"An inexpensive box gussied up and made pretty as can be with the Mother Goose collection. This piece would be very cute in a nursery or child's room. Even better, this box would be a great way to package a sentimental shower gift. The colours in this collection are fabulous and just exude sweet childhood joy. I especially like that the pallet is gender neutral and would be entirely appropriate for all little ones." -Nichola

Next up is another amazing altered box that you're sure to love. This is Miranda Edney's exquisite altered box featuring A Ladies Diary. We just love how Miranda blended lots of different papers from A Ladies' Diary with a bunch of beautiful embellishments and ribbons. This incredible combination helps give this box an authentic vintage look. Altered boxes are a perfect opportunity to let your imagination run wild with ideas! This is another splendid example of gorgeous home decor or the perfect handmade gift idea! Here is what Miranda had to say about this dazzling creation.

"I have a deep affection for altering boxes! And i wanted to make this one super shabby. What better paper line, then A Ladies Diary? Love! I kept it “simple” in a sense, letting the paper do the work. Just a few extra flowers and some chipboard. I also added some thread spools at the bottom as feet, and of course some “corset” lacing! I hope you all like it." -Miranda

"I love it when a project serves a dual purpose. These fun little Steampunk Spells decorations are not only great for putting out at Halloween time with their battery-operated flickering tea-lites, but they also serve as a treat holder which would make a really great party favor. I’ve added a pocket to the back of each one, big enough to hold a gift card or a flat candy bar. These were so fun and easy to make! The tea-lites can be found at dollar stores or WalMart which is where I found mine." -Annette

7. Adhere fences to half circles. Then cut apart the faces and adhere to each.

8. Die cut pediments from black chipboard and adhere to the tops of each piece with Scor-Tape. Cut apart names of the “faces”, matte with cardstock, ink edges and add copper brads. Adhere the names with foam tape.

9. These are the tea lights from WalMart. They bases are black and the flame is orange when lit.

10. Each light sits down inside the half circle base nicely. The tea lights can be lifted out easily to turn them on and off.

11. If you like, you can make your decoration into treat holders. Here I’ve shown two ideas. One is a library pocket style which would hold a gift card nicely. The other is larger and has more room to hold a thin candy bar.

Steampunk-Spells-Tea-Lite-Treat-Holder-Tutorial-Graphic45-Annette-Green-11-of-13

12. For the candy bar holder, cut a piece of patterns & solids paper of your choice 4” wide x 3” high. Score around three sides: ¼ inch, then again at ½ inch. Cut away the two bottom corners. Then fold inward on the score lines.

13. When folded in, you’ll have this open box. Add a bit of Scor-Tape to hold it together then more Scor-Tape to adhere it to the back of the decoration.

Supplies:

Here is a downloadable tutorial link for Olga's wonderful napkin rings. You can also follow along with the tutorial below to recreate this beautiful craft for your holiday home decor. Have fun!

Tutorial:

There are many ways to decorate such rings using empty rolls. This is how I decorated them.

How utilize scraps of paper.

You will need an empty foil roll.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-1

You need to divide it into required number of sections and mark them with a pencil.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-2

Cut along the lines with a craft knife

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-3

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-3a

Smooth the edges using Stampin' Sanding Block

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-4

Apply double-sided tape on the entire rings surface.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-5

Cut many strips of paper. Here you are able to use your scraps of paper.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-6

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-6a

Glue down strips on the rings. While gluing down you will need to leave some space between the strips.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-7

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-7a

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-7b

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-7c

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-7e

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-7f
The space between paper strips is sticky due to double sided tape. Sprinkle some embossing powder in these spaces. The powder will stick only to places where there is double-sided tape.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-8

Heat embossing powder with the heat gun.

If you can not do embossing you may fill in the empty spaces with paint liner or liquid pearls.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-9

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-9a

Apply glossy accents or any glossy or 3D medium to paper strips.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-10

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-10a

If you wish you may add the embellishments of your choice.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-11

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-11a

Cut solid colored strip of paper and attach it inside the ring using double-sided tape.

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-12

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-12a

September-Napkin-Rings-Tutorial-12c

Now we have a nice decoration for our table.

As our napkin ring is covered with embossing powder and glossy accents it is protected against moisture and soiling and will last s long time.

We hope you all had a lot of fun on today's very special blog! We will have more gorgeous sneak peeks to share with you on tomorrow's blog. Don't forget to leave us a blog or Facebook comment today for your chance to win that Couture prize pack. We will announce 4 more randomly chosen winners tomorrow! This amazing tag would be such a great handmade gift. The bright colors and hypnotic designs of Bohemian Bazaar make it the perfect collection for tag-making! Have fun exploring all the amazing details of this sweet tag. Here Anne explains how she created this joyful work of art! Take it away, Anne!

Had so fun making this upside down slider tag with the beautiful and summary Bohemian Bazaar collection, Petaloo flowers and May Arts Ribbon. Used both the 12 x 12 collection, regular tags stickers, cardstock cut outs, chipboard cut outs and metal staples. On the front I placed a cut out from the paper collection for a pocket and placed a card packed with blue paper inside. Made a bow from May Arts ribbon and slide a chipboard cut out in. Also used the beautiful aqua Glass flowers from Petaloo. On the hanging dangle there is 2 keys and a chipboard cut out that I painted. with Antique linen Distress paint.

This tag can be used as a card and there is place for a personal message on the bottom tag that slides down.

Used the back paper from the 12 x 12 paper pad. Made this slider tag from 3 regular tags and have a hinge between the 2 top tags so it creates a pocket. Glued seam binding inside on the top between the 2 tags and glued it to the bottom tag so it wont fall out.

Simple, easy, fun and perfect for the holidays! Here is what Clare had to say about this fabulous creation!

Ever the practical crafter, this is a really practical project and an ideal gift too with notelets inside.  It started off as a blank MDF self assembly kit.  I painted each of the pieces with black acrylic paint and left them to dry before assembling them together with wet glue.

Once dry I started to cover each section with co ordinating papers and black  card.  The chipboard and MFD embellishments  were embossed with fine black embossing enamel before being positioned and stuck into place over the paper pieces. To finish I added an ornate metal label holder to the lid, for easy opening.
