Challenge

WF10 Stop and Get Directions

When uploading your entries into the Stamping Gallery look under the Members Challenges and check "WF10 Stop and Get Directions". This will link your entry to the blog post. I will use the associated entries on my blog to select the random winner.

Challenge Description:

This challenge runs from February 20th - February 28th.

The project can be a card or a layout.

There must be some stamping on the project.

Create card or your layout using some unusual folding technique.  On the layout it would be an addition to the page as an unusual fold.  I have attached several samples with different folds.  Include a basic description of how to do the fold so everyone can learn something new. :)

The samples are here: http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/379711-stampersuzz/1596787-wf10-stop-and-get-directions-sample-cards/?c=t   Hopefully this will get you thinking of something!

You may use the same stamped card or stamped project for this challenge as you do for other Stamptoberfest 2009 challenges.

RAK for the Winner:
One entry will be given for each card or project entered (by using the checkbox so it appears on the corresponding blog post) and entered into a random RAK drawing.

The randomly selected winner will receive a RAK tbd.

Go out there and have fun...   Can't wait to see everyone's fun flips and folds...

SOF09 - Earth Challenge

SOF09 - Earth Challenge

My daughter was really thrilled that we had all these challenges going on and she said she wanted to host a challenge.  I asked her what challenge she wanted to host and she looked around saw a picture of the earth and said an earth challenge.

So here is the challenge:  (I am adding my two cents)

Create a project between now and next Tuesday. (I extended it as we started it late)  The challenge will end on the 27th at Midnight CST.

The project should have:

  • Something inspired by our earth...
    • Shape (Circle)
    • Colors
    • Nature
    • Going Green (Recycling)
    • Really anything that inspires you from our earth
Main requirement is inspired by earth and explain  how in your description of your project.

I think this will meet Tanya's requirements.  I will let Tanya pick the winner of the challenge as this is her challenge.

Link your project to this challenge when you post it on-line.

Can be combined with other challenges.

RAK:  TBD (I will have to come up with something fun!)

Main requirement is inspired by earth and explain  how in your description of your project.

Have fun!

Stamp Camp

I am sad to see Stamp Camp go... I loved learning about all the techniques.  My favorite was the faux metal technique.  I learned something new with each camp even though I knew all the techniques being taught.

I am looking forward to stamp camp 2009 ?  Please!

I would love to see some embossing techniques, watercolor techniques and more background techniques.

Tips & Tricks

Resist

There are all kinds of resist but one of my favorites is to stamp on paper first with a fine detailed stamp in a lighter ink color.  After that you use a solid stamp to stamp with versamark and clear emboss it.  Then you can ink the image all over and the solid versmarked areas will pop.

Faux Metal

The faux metal technique was fun to play with...

The interesting thing I learned was that you could use acrylic/clear stamps. I was afraid if it was too hot it might damage my stamps but they were fine.

The other thing I learned was the thicker the embossing powder the less layers you needed.  My fine embossing powder did not work very well.

Tips & Tricks

StazOn Ink Pads

Put a glue dot on the top of the  clear plastic liner that comes inside of the Stazon Ink Pad.  Make sure you use a larger glue dot and that you attach it to the ridge on the clear liner. Otherwise it won't reach the  black top.  This liner is there to help keep your ink pad moist.  I always thought it was a pain to keep taking the second top off and putting it back on.  Than someone told me put a glue dot on the clear liner and attach it to the black top.  Now when I lift off the top the liner comes with and I never loose it.
