We hope you are having a spooky-good time celebrating this week-end! Here are a few brand new projects from our amazing team...just for YOU!
Knock If YOU Dare!
Trina McClune brings us this humurous door hanger all set up and waiting for a good time to be had! Once Halloween is over you can simply add it to a layout for a FABULOUS look.
The felt DeVInes add the perfect "scary" touch to this project.
Supplies used:
...........................................................................................................................................
Sweet BOO card!
Anabelle O'Malley uses our journaling cards to create a "I'm so cute that I am almost scary" card! Isn't that adorable?
(Tip: Just trim the card to fit your project's needs by splicing down the middle and overlapping the seams until it is the size you want.)
...........................................................................................................................................
Stunning MASK Project!
Jamie Dougherty goes all out and brings us a FABULOUSLY stunning mask! Can you see this at a masquerade ball? Simply perfect!
And check out her great use of our floral necklace!
..............................................................................................................................................
Halloween Tag & Holder
Daniela Dobson created this tag and holder using a ton of her Prima scraps and a recycled tiny paper bag!
.............................................................................................................................................
Green Concepts Halloween Votive
Halloween is the perfect time to GO Green like Julie Fei-Fan Balzer did on this amazing Votive Holder using Prima's clear packaging and a few other sweet products.
Tips: Use an exacto to carve your jack-o-lantern from the packaging for a spooky effect. Add a touch of orange paint for contrast on the backdrop.
Tape the sides of the packaging together with Washi tape for an embellished look.
Julie even put together a cute little video of her votive all lit up at night!
Enjoy! And Happy Halloween!

Before we start our Banner feature we have a request for you!
Each month we pick a fabulous Reader's Find from our gallery...well we have a brand-new site and the gallery is not up and running yet...SO...if you have a stunning Prima-based project that you would love the world to see please send a photo (or two) to sharon@primamarketinginc.com. Please put November Newsletter Project in the subject. Thank you!
...................................................................................................
You know the banner trend is a whole lot of fun, right? Well, we asked our team to add a "Prima spin" to this trend. We cannot wait to show you what these talented gals came up with!
Birgit Koopsen starts us off with a journaling card banner that is ready to help you celebrate!
Each letter area is a Fairy Flora notecard attached to our adorable pom-pom ribbon and then decorated with a few Prima touches.
Add a touch of bling to add sparkle to your celebration! This full-sized banner is perfect for graduations, birthdays, actually ANY party at all!
.............................................................................................................................................
.......................................................................................................................................
Janine Koczwara brings the banner trend over to a beautiful layout. Of course banners work perfectly for a creative title area! What a fabulous way to use up those scraps of paper too.
Janine cut rectangles of Prima paper, then notched them to create her banner. Pop them up on a larger matching piece of paper for lots of dimension and depth on your page.
............................................................................................................................................
Liana Suwandi also uses a banner for her title on this super sweet FALL page! See how playful and free-flowing the title is? Add a journaling card and a few well-chosen accents to finish off the layout Prima-style!
Tip: Add Stickles to the outside of each triangle to draw your eye to the banner!
..............................................................................................................................................
Love Liana's Fall banner on her layout above? We love how she took the same banner idea and used it on this richly-toned card. Now that's being resourceful! (Green Tip: check out her use of packaging too!)
........................................................................................................................................
Nic Howard shows how a well-designed banner can add so much style to a baby card! Cut simple triangles, pop them up off the card with foam squares and add liquid pearl dots to tie them all together.
Want a soft edge on your banner? Nic uses chalk instead of ink to give a delicate shadow. Apply with a cotton ball or sponge for best results.
.............................................................................................................................................
We hope you have found the design team's projects fun AND inspiring! Please feel free to share your banner projects done up "Prima-style" with us on Facebook! Just look for "Prima Marketing Flowers" and click "LIKE".

Floral necklaces are EVERYWHERE!
Well, Prima recently released a gorgeous set of Floral Jewelry Necklaces that can be worn as is...or altered to customize it to fit YOUR needs! Our design team has created some very cute and creative projects using our floral jewelry. We hope you find something that you LOVE!
Cari Fennell took one of our necklaces and then added a few special flowers to create this beauty. See how easy it is to customize one for a boutique effect?
...............................................................................................................................................
Birgit Koopsen took a ready-made Prima necklace and added it to a headband for her absolutely adorable daughter! How sweet is that idea? (And it is very economical when comparing Prima's necklace price to ready-made floral headbands out on the market.)
.........................................................................................................................................
Stacy Cohen added an altered necklace to her tank neckline! This easy clip-on/clip-off accessory is perfect for any seasonal top! Stacy first colored the white flowers with alcohol inks by Ranger and then added other flowers to fill it in and make it a showstopper. (Try adhering the flowers to the tank with Velcro for a fast and simple solution that allows you to switch out flowers as you wish.)
..........................................................................................................................................
Leena Loh went all-out and added a necklace to her amazing altered Chinese fan! Just wind the necklace in amongst other flowers and leaves for a very full, gorgeous effect.
..............................................................................................................................................
Stacy Cohen also created a stunning headband for her beautiful daughter! Stacy colored the white flowers in soft colors and then added a few more in for a sweet whimsical effect.
.............................................................................................................................................
Trina McClune added a floral necklace to her absolutely stunning layout. She first cut the necklace in half, added a different flower to the center and then adhered everything to the layout as shown. Stitch the ribbon ties in place for sweet movement on your page.
Supplies:
..........................................................................................................................................
Did we mention how versatile these necklaces are? Anabelle O'Malley took one to dress up a gift bag. Now who wouldn't want to receive one of these?
..............................................................................................................................................
Anabelle also created this GORGEOUS all-white gift bag for a wedding! (This would work just as well for a first communion or baptism.) The nexklace adds a stunning touch that you just cannot find out on the market.
Scrapbook Jewelry- Sugar 544126
........................................................................................................................................
Don't we have the cutest little models ever here at Prima? Alyssa McGrew has her gorgeous daughter showing off a colored necklace/headband she altered for her. What's cool is that her sweet daughter can wear this as a necklace OR tie it up in her hair as a headband too.
Alyssa colored the flowers with a variety of art mediums:
................................................................................................................................................
Wouldn't these make fun Christmas gifts?
Or get a bunch of your girlfriends together to make these and then wear them when you go out together!
The ideas are really endless.

I used to look at Mondays like Garfield the cat does. Let's just say he isn't very cheerful about this particular day of the week!
However, I have come to TOLERATE Mondays. I do feel so much more refreshed after a great week-end. Well, this past week-end was extra fun as my sweet daughter, Brittany, turned 21! Now, how in the world did that happen? (When people say kids grow up too fast they really do know what they are talking about.) Here she is on her birthday!
Brittany used to be on Prima's team when she was a wee squirt! Since then she has grown up and is a junior in college majoring in Graphic Design. (She still dabbles in scrapbooking and does our Hybrid feature in our FAB monthly newsletter!) You have got to download this month's freebie that Britt created and play along with me.
Each hybrid design is created just for you! Once you save it on your computer you can print it out as many times as you wish. Brittany created these two projects with her digital elements:
(Using the pumpkin card option Britt created a fun card with touches of divine texture! )
(Using the tag option Britt printed the pumpkin on our Annalee patterned paper for extra dimension, then decorated it with a Pearl swirl and a piece of our felt devine.)
Well, I am going to take this tag download and show you another way to use it for fast and easy TREATS for Halloween.
First fill your bag with candy and tie it shut with the curly ribbon. Add a crepe paper bow if desired, or just leave the curly ribbon a bit longer.
After cutting out your tags (with a plain scissors as shown OR a pinking shears for extra fun) you will need the following Prima products to decorate it with style:
Now grab a few other supplies to kick these tags up a notch!
OR add a touch of Silver Stickles to the flower for a sparkly option!
OR spray your flower with a little Pumpkin Spice Glimmer Mist for more intense color and a touch of glimmer!
What you have are stunning treat bags perfect for handing out to co-workers, neighbors, your kid's teachers or friends! These really are fun and FAST to make. Get the kids involved and have a grand ole time together cranking these sweet treats out together! And do it today to make your MONDAY even sweeter!
~~ Sharon

September's sketch was so much fun! We had a ton of entries which showed how versatile this Build-A-Page really is.
First off congrats to our (always-VERY-hard-to-choose) winner:
Anna Koziarek!!
Anna colored her Paisley Road paper (841676-how absolutely creative is that? It's like getting two papers in one.) to set the tone for this vibrant layout! (So creative and so stinking cute.) Her adorable photo, use of packaging, and wise accent choices make this an all-around FAB winner!
Anna-please email to claim your prize within 7 days: sharon@primamarketinginc.com
.....................................................................................................................................
We also want to share some of the other entries with you!! (Did we mention how many Russian entries we received? Go, Russia! We love seeing new countries get in to scrapbooking.) Enjoy!
by Johanna Westin (This card is going to charity to benefit cancer research in Sweden. Very cool, Johanna!)

Amazing, Fabulous, FRESH Fall Projects!
Our team has been crazy busy creating fabulous fall projects just to share with you!
We hope you find them inspiring...so grab a cup of coffee, sit back and ENJOY them!
(Don't forget we have a FAB Live With Prima class today at 11:00 AM PST. Click HERE for details!)
Karola Witczak sends a smiling jack-o-lantern card over to us even though Halloween is not celebrated in Poland. Now how thoughtful is that?
This pumpkin is extra adorable with a flower top and leaves, vines and felt used to fill in the foliage area.
Accent stitching around the face features really adds a touch of adorableness to this project.
.................................................................................................................................................
Trina McClune brings us a STUNNING layout which is perfect for those amazing fall pics filled with lots of color! See the amazing contrast when placed on a dark backdrop?
Trina even includes a playful banner along the bottom to tie the whole theme together.
..........................................................................................................................................
Julie Fei-Fan Balzer brings a sweet message on her color-filled layout featuring lots of fun flowers, sparkly crystal swirls, and warm felt alphas!
The gorgeous hand painting makes this layout a one-of-a-kind FUN project!
Supplies:
Notes:
..........................................................................................................................................
Don't we ALL have jars like this lying around? Well, let's decorate them like the talented Janine Koczwara did. Then fill them with treats for a frugal, yet GORGEOUS, Halloween project!
For the large purple flowers Janine took a daisy-like Prima flower and folded it into quarters...then wrapped florist wire around it to hold it in place. Creativeness right there.
.............................................................................................................................................
Daniela Dobson shares a scrumptious fall card with us using our journaling card and a lovely large Tuscany flower. Using our cards as a base you can whip these beauties out in no time at all!

Fall has arrived in most of the United States!
It's that time of the year when temps drop to a tolerable level, while nature shows off by displaying gorgeous colors for all to see. The kids can run outside without becoming sweaty little buggers and there's a crisp scent to the air that is simply refreshing! Since the winds are changing all around us, we decided to change up our blog a bit too!
Pssst: Don't forget our Live With Prima class today at 11:00 AM PST. Click here for details! You won't want to miss Julie's FUN, FUN, FUN class!!!!!
Once or twice a month we hope to share a bit more with you than just projects.
We want you to get to know us better too! Today we will start with Sharon Laakkonen (that's ME by the way! I do almost all of our blog posts.) I hope to bring you inside stories from the fabulous people who work for Prima, along with some fun stories, step-by-step projects...maybe a recipe or two, and lots of other interesting tidbits. Let us know what you would love to see and we will try to get it for you!
So let's get going!
Professionally: I started with Prima over five years ago by applying for their first ever design team call...and, thank God, I made it! The rest, as they say, is history! I now coordinate our international design team of 20 absolutely amazingly talented gals, work with media relations, plan and co-coordinate events, create and teach projects internationally, work hands on with our Creative Director, co-moderate "Live With Prima" classes, and a bunch of other things that need to be done! I cannot imagine working for any other company since Prima and I are a great fit. I love their products, love the people whom I work with, and love the company's vision.
Personally: On a personal note I'm a pretty simple girl in a crazy, busy household in Kentucky!
I recently celebrated 25 years with my hubby, Bill (whom I met in pre-school. I wish I could find a pic of the two of us from back then! I'm pretty sure I was WAY taller than he was. :) )
Together we have three beautiful daughters-Brittany, Breanna and Bethany (who all happen to be in college right now-$$$)
...and four handsome boys- Brayden and Billy in the back and Jonathan and Josiah in the front-whom all happen to be at home with me. every. single. day. Haha. (We home-school-EEK! Now there's an adventure for you. It's our 18th year...which seems totally crazy to me, but it works and we love it. Only 12 more years to go...)
Our oldest daughter, Bethany, is married to a wonderful guy, Jon...
...and they JUST had a sweet little girl in February named Amariah Grace. (Somehow she ends up in a LOT of my layouts...I have no idea why! Do you?)
Things I Love: Photography, reading, a clean house, caesar salad, chicken fingers with honey mustard sauce, traveling, my mother-in-law's potato salad, dates with hubby, laughing, Bible Quizzing, hanging out with my kids and their friends, politics, history, games, snuggling with my grandbaby and...get ready for this...SCRAPBOOKING! Haha...I absolutely LOVE it. As soon as I take a new batch of photos I cannot wait to print them out and dig out my Prima products and art supplies. Sometimes I even dig out my sewing machine...hehe...(it gets used for scrapbooking ONLY now!)
Since it's fall and I just took my boys to the zoo (boy was that funny...think teen-age boys' humor and animals...in the same place) I made a special layout commemorating those fun memories just to share with you.
Favorite Season: I had so much fun trying a new technique on this project. First up...I sent the boys out to collect leaves. (I only needed about 5, but, SOMEHOW, got a lot more...along with a gorgeous purple flower that Josiah found. I REALLY hope it wasn't from the neighbor's flower garden.) I sealed the leaves with a bit of Tattered Angels Golden Goddess Glam. Here's a "before" shot:
And an "after" shot...look at that sparkle and shimmer! Make sure you coat both sides with a healthy amount of Glam.
Next I stamped on the leaf with a Jack and Jill text stamp with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. (I LOVE that whimsical stamp. The text is all haphazard. Simply adorable.)
Next I added a hint of gold (with the same stamp) right on top of the brown ink:
After the ink dried I added the leaves right on my layout in a banner shape. Now how fun is that? I know they MAY dry a bit, but so far they look good! (This is a project I would frame and hang up instead of putting in an album just to protect the leaves.)
Here's a close-up of the leaves and our amazing 3-D letters which I popped up with foam.
And a shot of some of our gorgeous flowers and crystal leaves.
Thank you for letting me share so much with you! I hope you enjoyed getting to know me a bit better.
Be sure and try this technique on a fall project. I think you will LOVE it! And if you send your kids out to collect leaves I hope they bring you back a flower too!
Stay tune for a fabulous week of inspiring projects, wonderful "Live With Prima class" info and MORE...right here on the Prima blog!

Nic is so talented... I'd love to learn from her! May just be what I need to take my scrapbooking to a more artistic level!
