Marie-Nicolas Shares Some Inky Ideas
...............................................................
How to use the transparent pages of the canvas albumn. This is what I propose today, we will work with alcohol inks from Ranger to give them color.
Just for example, shaking the bottle on top of your page transparency, then blow on the drops with a straw to pop. Have fun using 2 colors for more fantasy.
You can also use masks, apply the alcohol inks with the felt applicator by (Ranger). After, clean your mask with solvent alcohol ink.
Why not also use the mask as a foam stamp? Apply the paint on it and "dab" your plastic page. Let it dry then. Clean up your mask so as not to damage it.
For your canvas pages: use inks like the Adirondack stamp pads that coincide with the alcohol inks and your masks:
Now you can scrap your album ! Play with color contrasts, using the papers of the collection Printery: the black and white finish will brighten your album!
You can fill the transparancies with anything or scrap them directly.
We all appreciate you stopping by the Prima Blog. If you would like to learn more from Marie-Nicolas check out her blog.

Janine is Back With Amazing Projects!!
We would love to welcome back Janine Koczwara!! Today she has some amazing projects to share!
................................................................................
Hi everyone, it's Janine Koczwara here with my first blog post since coming back onto the Prima Design Team!! Yes, I am so super excited to be back on the team and hopefully able to inspire you with my projects!
Lets start with this mini album created by using the packaging from Prima Flowers. I hoard most of the packaging from my flowers as it is so pretty and try and re-purpose it. Here it has become the bases for my pages and the hang cell becomes the point to bind it all together with lace!
To start with I have cut patterned paper from the Romantique line and used it to cover all the bar-code and text on the packaging. Then I proceeded to layer all my other papers and embellishments on top of that.
I coloured around 1 meter of ribbon with Tattered Angels Mint Chocolate Chip Chalkboard Glimmer mist and cut the amounts I needed off from that piece once it was dry.
I also used Ranger Walnut Stain Distress ink around all my pages and papers as I love the way it adds impact to the overall design.
I stamped my essential flowers and inked around the edges to add interest but to also reduce the intensity of the colour of the flowers. I used the same stamp on the tags for a wonderful vintage feel.
Products Used:
The next projects are all based around the same concept of a quick and simple gift idea for a teacher or co-worker. In these first images I have used Prima flowers, and hot glued a "stem" to them for pressing into the floristry foam. In the video tutorial below, I have used a mixture of hand made paper flowers and prima flowers for a way to keep costs down if you want to create this cute little gift for quite a few people.
On this lollipop posy, I have covered the can with layers of punched paper for a delicate base and mixed lollipops, blooms and some candy gems for the floral display at the top.
This is another version using prima papers to create your own flowers ... you can see how this was made in this video...
Products Used:
Finally here is a LO that I have created using a monochromatic palette of colours and lots and lots of layers. I chose the photos for this monochromatic LO based on the wine barrel in the background offering that hint of rustic tones. I love the way the photographs jump out at you from the page with their splash of colour against the mustard brown tones of the page.
You can see the mix of layers in this close up. You can create open stars by nesting your star dies on your paper before running them through your die cutting machine. With the open star you can see more of the layers underneath while still maintaining the effect of the star on the page.
Another little tip when using the Prima toggles, you can finish off the button effect by adding a small sliver of paper through the button holes to give the appearance it has been stitched! Quick, simple and very effective.

New Inspiration with Hege Lundquist
The resin mini window looks so sweet. I really love the shabby look of them.
The bird's nest is a little match to the resin bird among the flowers.
For my second layout I was really inspired by the PPP for november. The colors were not me at all. Because of that, I really had fun challenging myself along the way. I didn't use a lot of papers on it, just concentrated on the beautiful prima flowers.

Steph is Bringing Meaningful Back
Today on the Prima blog Steph Devlin has brought us an amazingly meaningful project to share. A pure piece of inspiration.
................................................................................
Hi Prima fans, Steph here with a very special project to share with you.
Years and years ago, there was an annual competition held called "Make it Meaningful". The idea behind the competition was to inspire scrapbookers to create their most meaningful albums ever. I will never forget the year Vanessa Reynes won. Although her album was really gorgeous, it wasn't her design, or choice of product that captured me, it was the theme of her entry.
Vanessa decided to dedicate her book to her little girl, so that if she or her husband ever weren't around, (I mean you honestly don't know what is around the corner), her daughter would have a book to go to, for advice during the main events of her life. Vanessa's book had hand written letters from her and her husband, for her daughter's 18th, 21st, Wedding and 1st Baby. I remember thinking, if I ever have children, I want to create one of these books for them. Well, I have already made one book for my eldest daughter Emma, so I needed to create one for my baby girl Madison.
So here is my 2nd, and last Letter's to my Children book. I have used the stunning Pixie Glen Collection, and a lot of beautiful Prima embellishments.
So where do you start in creating a book like this? A talented crafter, Jane Tregenza, encouraged me to make a book using old Reader’s Digests which she had used for projects many times. What a brilliant idea !!! Once the pages have been gently removed from the book, the cover is a wonderful start to making a precious heirloom that your children or grandchildren will have with them for the rest of their lives. You can use any old book that takes your fancy, giving you choice of size and width in which to work with.
I have created 4 double pages are made out of bazzill and punched with Decorative Punches. The decorative edges make the book look so beautiful and individual. I have added a transparency sheet for added interest, because I love the idea that you can see through pages in the book and peak at what is underneath. The other inclusion within the book, is the addition of plastic envelopes. Its nice to mix the envelopes up a bit, you can purchase them from any News agency. Keep your eyes open for little home made envelopes and pockets that you can use or alter during the creation of your project.
The other envelopes in the book have been made either with a die cutting machine or just gently tearing open the flaps on an envelope and tracing around it to obtain the shape.
The key to remember, is the more pages your add, you need to adjust the spine width of those pages. That way I know that it will fit beautifully when the pages are nested on top of each other.
Binding the book together is really easy. Open you book to the middle page. You are going to mark where the holes need to be punched to bind out book. Here is the inside of my book. Depending on what size your book spine is, will determine the measurements and space between your holes.
Once you have measured and marked the spine with dots as markers as to where to punch, proceed lining the dots up with the Crop-o-dile and punching the holes. You will find with a book the size of mine (8 double pages) the Crop-O-dile works beautifully, penetrating both the pages and the cover with ease.
Once all the holes have been punched you can then use ribbon or thread to bind your book together. I have tied bows on the outside of my book, to emphasise the binding aspect of this project.
I have then gone ahead and wrapped tulle around it and added some beautiful Prima metal trinkets.
Now your book is bound, you can go ahead and embellish your book. Use pattern papers, embellishments, rub-ons, chipboard, anything your heart desires. I couldn't wait to dive into my Prima stash, so much variety and gorgeous products to work with.
One other thing, when creating your book remember to add pockets, flaps or hidden journaling, and personalising it for the intended recipient.
Here are some of the milestones letters that you might want to include in your book.
Even if I am blessed enough to be present at my children’s life milestones, just the thought of knowing that these letters are there to read, on each special occasions is so precious to me. I know they have been thought about and carry my heart and soul in them.
I believe that every mum (mom!) or grandmum, should make one of these, especially us crafters, who sole reason for creating is usually our children or grandchildren. Not only will it enrich our lives with retrospection and legacy - but our children will be blessed knowing just how much they are/or have been loved.
~ Steph ~

Magnifying Prima's Beauty with Emeline Seet
Hello everyone, Emeline has put together some inspiring projects to share with you today.
...............................................................................
Hi all! In today's post, I'd like to share complimentary elements that magnifies the beauty of Prima products. Fabric and metals are my evergreen items I love to create with. Not only are these within reach, easily found in your nearby dollar stores or craft stores, most of these items could already be hidden in your drawer at home. ?In my first project, I used fabric, specifically muslin cloth, satin, organza and weaved them into my handmade (from scratch) album. The end result is one with absolute dimensions, ultimate texture.
Pile on my favourite Prima resins, chipboards and flowers in cool pastel shades.
This mini album happens to be one of the projects I taught recently in Surabaya, Indonesia.
Supplies:
My second piece is a collage of metal tart tins, metallic colored tart holder together with Prima North Country Collection. These metallic bake related tins and holders are relatively easy to come by. I used Ranger's alcohol inks to color and transform an ordinary tart tin.
A mixture of blue, pink, green and white alcohol inks was sufficient to coat the surface of my tins. Alcohol inks are great for non-porous surface like metal. Steps: Gently apply alcohol ink onto tin.Swirl and turn to obtain maximum coverage on the tim.Let dry or hasten drying with heat gun. (reminder: exercise caution as metal heats up)
Supplies:
Finally, a thank you card using warm colors.
On this card, I used a kraft envelope as a backdrop for my flower cluster. Not only does it bring out color contrast on the flowers. It adds visual interest in my opinion.
Supplies:
Thank you for stopping by Prima's blog today. If you would like to see more of Emeline's work, check out her blog.

Paint Is In The Air with Stacey Young
Today on the Prima blog Stacey Young with share some of her amazingly artistic layouts with us.
..............................................................................
Hello everyone, Stacey Young here with some new creations to share with you all.
My first project was created to for the November PPP. I really loved this palette when I saw it. My baby's cute little beanie matched perfectly. I used the Printery line with lots of gorgeous blooms.
I also used some Resist Canvas pieces (birds, keys, clock + the big banner up the top from the Pixie Glen collection).
Product List:
I applied Gesso to the Brick mask and then misted. I then used a texture paste to the bricks to give it dimension. A little bit of fussy cutting + lots of layering.

November Layouts with AnnaMarie Mondro
Today AnnaMarie Mondro will be sharing some her talent with us today on the Prima blog.
............................................................................
Hi everyone! It’s AnnaMarie here, and I’m happy to be back hosting the blog! It’s hard to believe it’s November already! Here in Michigan we had our first snowfall of the year already –yikes! I’m SO not ready for that!! :) Today I am happy to share with you two layouts I created for the Prima blog, one inspired by the November Prima Product Pick (and Palette) and the other inspired by the November Build-A-Page (BAP) sketch. I absolutely LOVED the rich vintage colors found in this month’s Prima Product Pick (and Palette) – the vibrant teal colors combined with the rusts, maroons, and rich brown tones were a lovely match for this fall photo of my Sophie.
In order to give the corrugated cardboard background a bit of a “pop”, I first sprayed with glimmer mist, and then followed that up by lightly blotting a teal-colored inkpad into the exposed lines of the cardboard. That worked nicely to provide contrast of the richer blue-green tone against the earthier dark colors used primarily throughout my clusters of embellishments.
Supplies List:
And now onto my second layout inspired by the November Build-A-Page (BAP) sketch. :) I really loved this sketch – so many fabulous elements, from the big swirl in the center of the page, the strips of paper throughout, and of course flowers galore! :) I chose to use the Romantique line as my starting point with these photos of my Abigail – this beautiful and softer color palette also has a playful feel to their line, which coordinates so nicely with the happy attitude of my swing-loving girl. :)
Have I ever mentioned how much I LOVE the Flocked Rub-Ons that coordinate with each new paper line? :) A tip to share with you – I blotted the Romantique rub-on above with a chocolate brown mini chalk inkpad to add a bit of color to the cream and provide a bit of contrast from the light background paper. The flocking works nicely at absorbing the color without saturating it – giving the appearance of staining.
I chose to substitute the large swirl in the center of the sketch with a Cypress vine – the stem is completely moldable and there is ample room in between the crystal flowers and leaves to embellish with even more flowers, such as these darling teensy Avon Roses, also from the Romantique line! :)
Another beautiful Shabby Chic Resin piece, this one from the Garden Fittings set – isn’t that bridge just lovely?! :)

Two Styles in One Paper Line With Ania
Today on the blog, Ania Lexander will show us how you can create two different looks with the same paper line.
...........................................................................
You know when you’ve used 2/3rds of a sheet of paper and then you put aside the rest, knowing it’ll probably stay unused and hidden in some binder or box. Then you get a feeling that no, not these papers, I’ll try to use them again on my next project? I had that feeling with these papers, and decided to create a second layout.

If you look closely, you can see that I added Ranger Inc. crackle accents to the letters to add texture. I love the effect it yielded!
Love the mix of the materials here as well. The two different flowers against the felt leaf.

Heidi Kelley has a stunning layout to share with you today. Enjoy.
...............................................................
Hi friends, Heidi here, with another whimsy-filled mixed media project for Prima! This time I decided to create a layout using the North Country Collection, and lots of art mediums, paints, and some creative photograph cutting. I titled the piece "The Future Belongs {to those who see the beauty of their dreams}" and I really wanted the focus to be on how creative you can get with Prima's patterned paper.
To prep the layout, I haphazardly spread gesso over the paper with an old credit card, making sure to scrape in certain areas so that the beautiful colors showed through. After this was dry, I added molding paste using a sea sponge to add peaks. I then attached two layers of the paper, cut in ovals, to the background and used a blend of red and pink paint mists to add some more color.
After adding my photo, I decided that I wanted to blend in the ovals a bit more to the background, so I added some more molding paste (this time using my finger to spread it) and when that was dry, I also added in some glass bead gel for shimmer and interest. I wanted this to look a bit like snow when I was finished.
Each piece of the North Country Collection paper has such fun detailing within it, that if you look at, there are countless ways to customize it to your own layout, creating interesting elements and of course, yummy eye candy! Here, I cut quite a few of the small flourishes from the paper, adding it into my daughter's hair to create dimension. In order to do this, I printed out two copies of the photograph, adhered one to the page, and then cut portions of her hair out of the second photograph, using dimensional dots to mount these above the other strands of her hair and tucking in the flourishes.
I also cut out some of the small graphic printed flowers and an element as an earring, thinking this added a little more femininity to the page! I then cut some of the branches from the "Rock Candy" and tucked them into her locks as well, to add just a bit more bling. I finished off embellishing the page by adding some flowers, a strand from one of Prima's "Twisters", shabby chic treasures and "Say it in Crystals." The title work was fun to play with also, as I used some old Prima for the large part of the title, and then combined different colors for the remaining part.
Prima papers can really be put to work, I LOVE how I was able to create so many details by simply picking up a pair of detail scissors!!

She also included a couple of these sweet little roses to the page. These roses are part of the Sherwood collection.
