Gorgeous Projects by Steph Devlin
Hi everyone, Steph Devlin here with some shares to finish off the month. I can't believe it's the end of September...goodness, it will be Christmas before we know it !!!
First I have a new layout to share with you, where I have used the beautiful Londonerry Papers and embellishments.
Next I would love to share the first of two OTP items that are going to be a set. I have taken a cup and saucer and altered it, using Prima's beautiful new flowers, vines and butterflies. The addition of the Shabby Chic Resin gives the cup a whimsical touch and adds to the charm of this altered item.
Lastly I have another OTP creation using a wonderful texture technique that you can mix and match with Glimmermist and Inks.
You will need a Multi Medium Gel, (I used Claudine Hellmuths Studio Line)and Glimmermists and Inks of your choice. I combined both the Chalkboard and Traditional Glimmermists for a more matte approach to create the final result for this canvas.
Firstly, you will need any Prima Mask - I have chose a gorgeous flourish for my 5" circular canvas. Position your mask on the surface, exactly where you want the design to appear.
Next using a palette knife, apply your Medium Matte Gel horiontally over the mask. Smooth it with the bottom of the knife and you can even use a small square of cardstock or old giftcard to distribute the gel evenly.Once you have lifted the mask off, you can either dry in the sunlight, or if you are impatient like me, a heat tool helps speed up the drying process.
I started by applying Glimmermist over the dry surface area - concentrating on the textured area. Dry off lightly with heat tool and repeat the process with deeper, richer colors, customising appearance of your project.
I puddle my deeper colors to draw the eye to the texture created by the gel.
Lastly I ink the edges to define my surface and blend lightly with a dauber sponge or if you like getting messy like I do, your finger works perfectly !!
So here is the finished canvas ready to hang up or pop on a easel .....
and some close ups ....
Well, thanks for taking the time to read my post, and I hope you have fun playing with this new technique ...
Steph xo

It doesn't really have to cost you that much - only what you already do have stashed in your scrapbook-supplies and/or pantry. Take this box - it's an empty cardboard box that was used to contain nuts. Its inner walls were lined with foil which made it easily cleanable with a damp cloth, and the nut did not leave any strong odours so it was perfect for my purpose: gifting this box filled with coarse ground coffee grains along with two cups of french press cups!
I used the Printery paper collection for this box, mellowing out the blackness some with white paint randomly added then wiped off the paper. I then built a focal point with a die cut piece of chipboard, felt leaves and a white flower, before adding more paperflowers and leaves to the centre.
It was all hot glued onto the box.
I wanted the box to be as practical as possible, yet somewhat decorative. Hence the simple top made of paper.
Thanks for looking!

Hi Everyone! Stacy Cohen here. Now that my girls are back to school and our family is on a regular schedule, I've had more time to play around with all my beautiful Prima supplies. Here are a couple layouts I've been working on. The first one features papers from the lovely Pixie Glen collection.
I love that there is a paper in each collection with journaling spots. I used one of the journaling spots and the mini alpha stickers to create a hidden journaling pull tab,
I decided to play around with something a little different on this layout: candle wax! I lit a sea-blue candle and let the hot wax drip onto my paper. I added some droplets of spray ink to compliment the wax color. If you try this at home, be careful with the flame and hot wax!
Products used:
843229 Pixie Glen "Cornwall"
843212 Pixie Glen "Devon"
843168 Pixie Glen "Window View"
843205 Pixie Glen "Rose Arbor"
550172 Alphabets - Pixie Glen
550073 Alphabet Stickers
551360 Say it in Crystals
551841 Crystal Palace - Starburst
This next layout features a picture of me and brother when we were little. The Romantique line is perfect for these vintage looking layouts. Eeeks . . . I think I just called myself vintage.
What I did here was cut out the image of the lady and flowers from one corner of the Romantique "Hilary" paper, then I flipped the remaining piece of paper over, cropped it, and adhered the lady with 3D pop dots to the reverse side (covering the missing spot).
I painted the edge of the Romantique paper with gold paint, then I mounted the paper on cardstock and crocheted a delicate border around the outer edge.
843427 Romantique "Hillary"
551223 Romantique Chipboard
550097 Romantique Alphabets
553470 Medley Copper
551704 Fleur De Lys - Almond
552503 Avon Rose - Romantique
552695 Sherwood Rose - partridge
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!

We have just released a whole line of beautiful resin products here at Prima. They are so versitile and add the perfect shabby chic touch to any project. Let's see how design team member, Marie-Nicolas, has used them...
Today I'd like to show you how to use resins in different ways. One of my favorite things to do with them is to paint them with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze.
Just paint the resin piece with the included brush. Don't forget the sides!! Allow to dry.
Cut a rectangle of paper the size of the interior of the resin piece and glue it on.
Next, add a paper flower, Arco Iris flower or other embellishment of your choice.
It's so beautiful, I will just have to make a card to go with it!
Supplies: 842505 Melody Paper "Breeze", 842604 Melody Paper "Gathering Leaves", 843069 Sweet Fairy Paper "Blowing Kisses", 545314 Sweet Fairy Rub Ons, 544256 Say It In Crystals, 544393 Arco Iris Flowers, 890728 Resin Sculpture Window, 545567 8x8 Mask, 544317 Alphabet Stickers, 545819 Melody Chipboard Stickers, 536312 Music 4x6 Clear Stamp
Of course, you can always use the resin pieces just as they come like I did in this example:
Here I used two different circle shaped resin pieces. On the first one, I added a small paper scallop circle, a small paper circle and one of the Arco Iris flowers.
On the second one, I used a small paper circle, one of Prima's new Toggle buttons and a crystal.
Supplies: 843441 Reflection Paper "Scribes", 843496 Printery Paper "Pressman", 842291 Reflection Paper "Goldboro" 842345 Romantique Paper "Gazette", 544249 Alphabet Stickers, 843243 North Country Paper "Wonderland", 541699 So Cute Canvas Chipboard, 550868 Pixie Glen Flocked Rub Ons, 551384 Say It In Crystals, 890735 Resin Mini Windows, 890742 resin Ceiling Ornaments, 544355 Arco Iris Flowers, 550448 Toggle Quirky, 921644 Canvas Paintable Word "Us", 550486 and 550516 Ornamental Edging, 552003 Elysa Flowers, 553470 Medley Copper
So you see, the possibilities with the resin pieces are endless!

Hi, Trina here!
With Prima and Tattered Angels teaming up this month, I thought I'd show you a LO I've made using the two together.
I also wanted to show how versatile Prima is as this LO has new papers, but older collection embellishments. I adore how you can mix and match Prima products!
First here's my LO:
(you can probably pick that I've been inspired by my fellow DT member Finn's gorgeous style in this LO).
Let me show you how I created it.
I started off with a piece of Prima's new Printery collection paper "Negative". I stamped it with Prima's clear recital stamp.
You'll notice how it's not 'perfect' and has been overlaid.
Next I added some muslin.
Once it was in the right place I colored it using Tattered Angels Dark Denim.
Because I only wanted the muslin to be colored, I sprayed the Glimmer Mist onto a scrap piece of paper, then used a scrap piece of muslin to transfer the medium.
Once this was done, I decided the LO needed some of the blue in the photo to come through so added a few sprays of the Bell Bottom Jeans.
I then started adding my clusters and embellishments. To do this I usually grab out all the product I can find in the right color ways. I then pile them on my desk next to where I'm working and start picking, placing, & discarding until I'm happy.
The above close up shows how I decided to add some more muslin. I realised the LO needed some balance so added it under my smaller photo.
I am using quite a lot of dies at the moment. It allows me to add layers of dimension without the LO becoming literally too thick.
In this case after pulling all my flowers out, I realised I wanted to add more color to match the misting I'd done earlier. I picked some Prima Innocense flowers then misted with Glimmermist Bell Bottom Jeans.
I've misted quite heavily in this instance to get a fuller coverage of color on the flowers.
And then finally I usually add the last touches of Say It In Crystals, stitching, title etc.
It seems pretty straight forward, but usually takes me a day to complete a LO including choosing & printing photos. Still I love the process.
I hope you've enjoyed seeing how I put together this LO.

Hi everyone! AnnaMarie Mondro here, and happy to be back hosting the blog! Hope you are all transitioning well to the month of September! :) Not only will I be celebrating a birthday in two days (!), but I also have three out of four kidlets back to school (including a new Kindergartener - sniff sniff! :-P)
My littlest guy still keeps me pretty busy outside of naptime and bedtime (!), but I am finally getting a chance to catch up a bit with older photos waiting to be scrapped - it is such a treat to revisit those special moments! You have one of those piles too right?? Or is it just me?! LOL! :)
The first layout I would like to share with you today is one I created for the September Prima Product Pick (and Palette) - you can view the gorgeous earthy colors here, and don't forget that if you play along this month, you can submit your layout to Prima (should feature either those products OR colors), and get a chance to win your own pretty Prima package! :)
Additional details, including deadline and e-mail address for submission, can be found on the Prima blog - hope you find time to play along with us this month! :) I was so very inspired by the *gorgeous* browns of this palette - it just screams fall (my *favorite* season btw!) :)) Combined with these wonderful older photos of my Sophie taken by my friend Kate J., this layout came together rather nicely - such a nice warm palette of browns!
I find that my Tattered Angels Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist showcases beautifully on both the corrugated cardboard base and the Prima Resistant Canvas. :)
And don't you just love the subtle shimmer to these gorgeous Splendor leaves?? And aren't those wooden toggles so ding-dang CUTE?! :)
I also used my Tattered Angels Creme de Chocolat Glimmer Mist on the Shabby Chic Resin pieces to give them a bit of a more aged look - just spray lightly and blot once or twice with a dry cloth...gives a bit more depth in color without changing it too drastically! You can also spray the mist on any of the Flaxence linen flowers like I did below, if the color you have isn't quite the shade of brown you need. ;)
Supplies List: Item# 551445 - Say It In Crystals Item# 553579 - Splendor - Cinnamon Item# 553531 - Splendor - Fall Mix Item# 842291 - Goldsboro - Reflections Collection Item# 553722 - Tweet Vine - Quail Tendrills Item# 552022 - Flaxence - Barley Item# 544782 - Say it in Crystals & Pearls Item# 551742 - Firefly - Blue Ochre Item# 552886 - Cradle - Sparrow Item# 553128 - Allure - Jewel Mix Item# 553630 - Vermont - Brown Item# 551773 - Harlow - Cashew Item# 890728 - Resin - Window Decor Item# 551636 - Resistant Canvas - Romantique Item# 550448 - Toggle - Quirky Item# 553470 - Medley - Copper
And now onto my second layout. :) Obviously I am feeling a wee bit melancholy :-P as I look back on the pics taken over the summer, because the photos I chose to showcase on my layout below have me feeling just a teensy bit sad about how my littlest is not such a baby anymore (boo hiss LOL! :-P) I was really struck by this reality at my dad's house on the lake as he showed his independent explorer side :) and only looked back periodically to make sure I was still there. :-P They grow up too fast! :)
I think it's fairly safe to assume that I absolutely adore the Shabby Chic Resin pieces, as well as the Amore heart and Antique Mirrors - seems like I look for any excuse to add those products onto my pages! :)
Supplies List: Item# 843168 - Pixie Glen Col. Window View Item# 843519 - Printery Col. Signature Item# 551735 - Firefly - Sandune Item# 552367 - Miss Kate - Coppertone Item# 551506 - Say It In Crystals Item# 552718 - Sherwood Rose - Cottage Item# 551964 - Amore - Aqua Item# 551216 - Chipboard - Pixie Glen Item# 553630 - Vermont - Brown Item# 552145 - Fantasy - Bronze Item# 890780 - Resin - Garden Fittings Item# 890711 - Resin - Window Frame Item# 890834 - Resin - Bird Homes Item# 551100 - Reflections - Printery Item# 550097 - 8”x10” Alphabets - Romantique
That's it from me for this month! :) Thanks for stopping by! ~AnnaMarie Mondro

We are so lucky to have Heidi Kelley on our Design Team. Her style is so unique yet whimsical in its way. We love all that she adds to the team and know you will love her too!
My name is Heidi Kelley and I live in the United States, currently in the state of Missouri, although this has only been our home for 8 months because we have moved many, many, times for my husband's job. I am a full time stay at home Mama, whose world really revolves around the "littles" that my husband and I have brought into the world. I have been married to my incredible husband Patrick for 11 years, and we have three children: 2 daughters, Ahna (10), and Sarenna (8) and 1 son, Jax (1). We are also expecting our fourth child this coming February!!
There are few things I love more than having my hands covered with paint, gesso, and various other art mediums... and creating works of art that feature my children and the everyday wonder in my life. My two daughters and son are the inspiration for nearly everything I share, although a few photos of my hubby and I fall in occasionally! In addition, I find myself often creating mixed media projects completely inspired by my emotions that day. I create with my heart, never having a plan to start with, and simply going where the mood, paint, and photos take me.

Ornamental Edging 550455, 550462, 550493
Medley "Treasure" 553456
Vintage Buttons 550738
My mixed media creating style is nothing if not completely eclectic. A bit haphazard, I suppose. I don't enjoy creating things that are replicas, or even remotely similar to other projects that I have created. While I use paints consistently, as well as art mediums, and certainly have techniques that I like to use in every piece - I crave making something fresh and new each time I sit down to work. I adore pulling in items that traditionally are not "meant" to be used in scrapping and art, and altering is what I love best. This can mean altering the canvas, the papers, the flowers... nothing is safe or unalterable. :)
Supplies:
Carlotta Flowers:552732 Ivory, 552749 Smoke, 552763 Winery, 552787 Parrot
Parchment Petals:551988 Antique
Ornamental Edgings 550516
Resist Canvas 551643
My layout style is incredibly eclectic also, with a lot of whimsy involved. For me, it is truly about setting the scene, and capturing the memory of that precise moment. It's the everyday moments that I scrap, the looks, the moods, the things that we could forget so easily down the road. My journaling tends to remain private, written on the back or slid into a compartment on the photo, but I think this is an incredibly important aspect of scrapping and preserving the memory.
Here are a couple layouts that I created for the Prima booth this year at CHA:
Supplies:
Pixie Glen Paper:"Garden Gate" 843175, "Pyske Cuts" 843182
Chipboard Stickers 551216
Jardinere Pixie Glen Flowers 552602
Supplies:
Printery Paper:"Signature" 843519, "Explorer" 843489
Printery Coventry Rose 553296
Printery Tiny Alphabet Stickers 550165
Antique Mirror 551131
Flocked Rub-ons 550875
Resist Canvas 551636
Ornamental Edging 550479
Let's see... what else? How about a few random facts that one might not guess about me....
1. I have a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, with a minor in Bioethics. I had hoped to one day work within medical ethics boards, but... my family has continue to grow and so I remain at home, and am so very happy to do so. These children are my life!
2. I despise applesauce.
3. In the last 10 years, we have moved 9 times. One of those moves kept us in the same place for nearly 4 years... so we have moved, a lot. I have lived in North Carolina, several spots in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Alabama, and now Missouri.
4. Topping my bucket list currently is taking a long hot air balloon ride. I will do it... someday.
Thank you so much for letting me share a bit about myself. I am SO honored to be a part of this Design Team, and still can hardly believe I am here. I truly believe that life lies in the details and while the big picture can most certainly be beautiful, it is the tiny elements that carve each one of us into our own person. I want to document these details, these little snippets of whimsy, of character, of flaw! I love sharing my story, our story, the way I see it - or the way I think my little ones see it... so that I can remember it long after the moments have passed.
xx Heidi
