"'Good Day' is full of hearts. I used a heart shape puncher to cut all these hearts. I also aded 'mist-mask' action (well I think you don't see it on the picture, because of pale colours, but believe me - it is there :) I also used some wood hearts and resist canvas with a little bit of watercolour. You can find some gold glitter splashes and floral stamping here and there to add sparkle."

October is breast cancer awareness month and Prima is gearing up to give you a lot of pink inspiration.

Jill van Iperen is a self-taught mixed-media artist based in Brisbane, Australia.  Jill doesn’t have a preferred medium, but painting is her first love.

All of her art reveals multiple layers of a mix of vintage papers, along with new papers and ephemera, that mean something to her.  She loves to experiment with paints, encaustics, hand dyed fabrics, flowers, and a selection of mediums to bring her work to life.

Jill's last project is simply divine!

Jill loved the feeling of romance in the wonderful papers, trim and butterflies and turned them into an ultra feminine mixed-media dream dress to represent the joy of possibility. 

By incorporating numerous layers that peek through the canvas, she has created a dream-like artwork that would look fabulous on any wall.

Steps to re-create this canvas:

1. Attach torn papers, journaling cards and butterlies to canvas using gel medium.
2. Lightly paint over entire surface.
3. Add ink to corners of canvas.
4. Fashion dress using ribbons and fabric.
5. Attach flower and title.

“Sweetly Sophisticated” Layout with Frank Garcia
