Prima & Faber-Castell Blog Hop Wrap-up and Winner!

Today is the wrap-up to our month long blog hop with Faber-Castell. Our teams had such a great time creating for the hop and hoped you all enjoyed joining in on the fun. To close out the blog hop, we have a few projects to to share with you as well as the winner to our blog hop! What better way to breakup the week.

.........................................................................

First we have this bold and colorful layout created by the lovely Ms. Leslie Ashe. Leslie uses the Gelatos on Prima's resist canvas to add color to her page.

PrimaYouandMe1wm

Here is a little bit from Leslie about her page:

I decided to get bold & have FUN with Faber-Castell goodies on this page. I used the Gesso as a background – to tone my bright paper down just a little bit. Then I used a Prima brick mask & colored between the “mortar” with gelato’s. I also used the gelato’s to color my resist canvas flowers, then used the artist pen to blend it all together for a fun watercolor, artsy effect.

Our next Prima/Faber-Castell project was created by the artistic Heidi Kelley.

HomeNotebook(fabercastell)

Heidi tells us how she went about decorating this beautiful journal:

Altering items with art mediums is made so much fun with Faber Castell! I was able to color the cute Prima birdhouse shabby chic treasures with the Pitt Pastel pencils, blending as I went, and then highlighting with the Gelato stick. I also used gesso to highlight the Alla Prima paper background, and then colored with the Pitt Pastel pencil in random places. I then used a bit of bead gel and molding paste, let dry, and then once again highlighted the peaks with the Gelato stick and Big Brush pen! The metal trinket also took the color from the Big Brush pen, making it look rustic and sunshiney :)

This amazing banner was created by the even more amazing Cari Fennell. Cari uses the Donna Downey canvas banners to create this "Fun" piece.

Funbanner1

Here are a few steps from Cari on how she created this beautiful project:

I colored the banners with a mix of gelatos, spritzed with water and blended the colors. I punched out scalloped circles using my Marvy punches and stacked them together. Then I placed the chip letters in the circle centers. I added black gelato to the letters to darken them a bit. I stamped the birds using black paint and cut them out, then added them to the banners as well...

Simple to Stupendous with Stacy Cohen

We have something new for you on the blog today! Simple to stupendous shows you ways of how to take your scrapbook pages to the next level. Stacy Cohen has brought this stunning page with her before and after steps on how she made her simple page stupendous.

.............................................................................

Whether your scrapping style is “Clean and Simple”, “Shabby Chic”, or something altogether different, Prima’s beautiful products can be incorporated into any style of scrapbooking.

Personally, I don’t have a single set-in-stone scrapbooking style. To keep things interesting for myself, I like to play around with different styles. Some of my pages are very simple with minimal embellishments, and others are filled with techniques and lots of lush Prima products. Today I’m going to show you two versions of a layout I created. The first version is very simple.  On the second version I took it up a notch by adding more techniques and embellishments.

Here is the first version.  Pretty simple, huh?

Princess Lessons SIMPLE sized

I created a quick and easy base for the photo by punching squares from the Songbird collection papers. One of these papers is the Songbird “Collage” paper. The beauty of this particular paper is that it has a collage of different patterns on one side, so I was able to get a variety of punched squares using just this one piece of paper. I kept the rest of the page pretty simple as well I used a minimal amount of flowers (just enough to “pretty up” the page a bit), added my title, and then I hand-wrote my journaling on a doily. This is a page that could easily be completed in half an hour and with minimal supplies.

Here is the second version.

Princess Lessons STUPENDOUS sized

As you can see, there’s a lot more going on here. I added more embellishments and details. For example, I beefed up my cluster of flowers and embellishments. I added some details, like machine stitching around the page and tiny drops of Liquid Pearls (by Ranger) around the center section.

Instead of a simple punched square design, I added a more eye-catching patchwork design adorned with pearls.

Princess Lessons STUPENDOUS close-up 1

You can learn how to do this cool paper quilting technique here:  Davinie’s quilting tutorial

To add a bit of sparkle and pizazz to my embellishment clusters, I coated some of the flowers and the butterfly with translucent white glitter.

Princess Lessons STUPENDOUS close-up 2

Granted, this second version might still be considered fairly “simple” by some standards, but it’s stepped up just enough to give it that extra floral lushness that Prima is known for.

Supplies (not all of these were used on the first version):

  • 844059 Songbird “Lineage”
  • 844011 Songbird “Collage”
  • 844080 Songbird “Title-it”
  • 547189 Parfait Collection Blush
  • 555306 Songbird Chipboard
  • 554828 Songbird Chipboard Stickers
  • 550066 Alphabet Stickers
  • 555382 Alphabet Stickers
  • 555597 Songbird Essential Flowers
  • 555597 Lucerne Songbird Flowers
  • 555573 Charme Rose Songbird Flowers
  • 557157 Tivona Rose
  • 557645 Laraine Pearl White
  • 556327 Velvet Rainbow Naturals
  • 558253 Butterflies
  • 300456 E-Line Pearls

BONUS:  Are you a 2-page layout kind of gal?  Here’s a 2-pager I did that incorporates the basic design of my 1-page layouts above.

Photo Shoot blog2

You can see how easy it is to take a 1-page design and incorporate it into a 2-page layout!

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! Now tell us, what’s your usual scrapping style?

My name is Ingvild Bolme from Norway, mother to little Iselina (4 years), who also is my biggest scrapbook inspiration. I discovered scrapbooking in 1996, and, since 1997, have been totally addicted to this amazing craft. My style can vary a bit after the pictures I scrap or the occasion I design for, but there are always lots of details on my works, simply because I love to put on lots of embellish and try out different techniques. I also love the vintage and romantic style and often choose that style if possible. I love photography and design, and I simply love everything within this craft. I have been on Prima's design team since 2007, and I feel really honoured to be on a DT like this and to have the possibility to design with such a wide and amazing range of products. Prima is my heart brand, and I dare to say that Prima's products has shaped my style in scrapbooking to what it is today.

Exercise Your Creativity and Scraplift

Today is our last Scraplift feature for the month. We had so much fun using each other for inspiration and we hope you did as well.

When scraplifting, there are so many things you can use from a layout as your lift. It could be the colors used, the outline of the page, it can even be as simple as the products used. You can go back through your own work and find projects to scraplift. Using scraplifts is an easy way to get out of that creative rut or give yourself that extra boost.

..........................................................................\

Our fist scraplift was inspired by this creative page designed by Trina McClune.

Lostinyoureyesds - Trina scraplift

There are so many gorgeous layouts from Trina I truly could not decide which one to lift.  I scrolled through her gallery (several times) and was mesmerised by this stunning page.  Her work is so incredibly neat and her little details are just delightful.

Of course having 3 boys the pink just would not work for me, but keeping the same amazing design I opted to change the colour palette.

I loved Trina layout so much that I kept a lot of the same elements on my page and just added my own touches and style for example the misting!!  I cut paper circles and distressed the edges and used the end of a paintbrush to dot my way around the page.
Thankyou so much Trina for inspiring me, I really did get lost in your layout;) ~Stacey Young

I scraplifted Anna Marie's gorgeous mix of warm colors into her layouts. Her use of embellishments and use of recycled elements (i.e.: corrugated board) brings attention to her photos.
It is a struggle for me to scrap in darker, warm colors. However, the freedom to scrap lift Anna Marie's layouts made me think it isn't so difficult to work with deep colors after all ! Thank you for inspiring me, Anna Marie :) ~Emeline

This colorful treat was created by Leslie Ashe. She was the inspiration for Janine's scraplift.

Panpastelsoluckywm1

I had the wonderful task of scraplifting one of the layouts of the super talented Leslie Ashe!!  I love the way Leslie has an artistic edge to her pages and a more free-flowing style.  I chose to lift this page as I adored her arty circles and the way it meandered down the page.  I used a lot of elements from the original page as my inspiration, especially the placement, but adapted other aspects to fit my style.  In keeping with the artistic whimsy of the original page, I went to town with glimmer mists to create my own “artsy” background paper, but rather than using Pan Pastels for circles as Leslie did, I used an octagon die and double layered them to add a touch of my style into it as well.

Finally I finished off the page with flowers, chipboard and some bling.  I replicated the flower placement fairly closely, but chose to add a bit of my style to it by incorporating a bit of bling trailing from the lower floral cluster.  Thank you so much Leslie for creating such an inspiring original design for me to lift. ~Janine Koczwara

IMG_6117

I had the honor of scraplifting a project of the wonderful and talented Emeline. I totally adore her sense of style and multifloral compositions which were a great source of inspiration for me. In fact I discovered we've got a lot of things in common: we both like to work on the customized backgrounds and we both create clusters... maybe a
bit of different kind, but the idea is similar! I loved studying Emeline's multi-layered flower projects, finding new elements in very detailed work and trying to follow her steps in composing a layout based on one, large group of embellishments. I found out that Emeline tends to use one, medium sized or small photo in a company of a large number of clustered flowers, usually situated on the one side or bottom of it - that was a challenge for me as I usually try to surround my photos from all sides! The next observation I made were her delicate, feminine, usually whitewashed color palettes - beautiful sets of colors matching each others perfectly... again, very inspiring!
My project is based on  her amazing layout "Blessed are the pure in heart" - I loved this artwork from the first sight! Eye-catching photo, masked and painted background, large flower cluster - it all made my creative juices flowing!  I started with the background: the two papers were layered one on another, distressed, and sprayed. Then stamped and painted with a bit of gesso. The photo I used is my interpretation of the composition of the original photo - the person showed on it has got the flower cluster behind her back, just like the children on the beautiful Emeline's picture. Building the group of embellishments I tried to use a similar set of elements, but with a touch of "me" too - and i'm quite happy with the final result:) Scraplifting this project was a pure pleasure for me - Emeline is a very talented artist, so I feel that I not only had great creative fun but also learned a lot about other ways of building composition. Thank you so much for this inspiring challenge! ~Anna

This dimensional work of art was created by Heidi Kelley. Heidi's layout gave Anne Jo Lexander, her ideas for her adorable page.

BlowingKisses

When I think of Heidi Kelley...I think of her little scenes, no matter if it's on a layout or a shadowbox, where she hand cut her photos, staging a whole new stage for her protagonists...and then there's paint, lots of paint, and colors, and usually a whole little mix of flowers....While I had her recent layout "Blowing kisses" as a starting point (her two focal points on the layout are the two clusters, I've mimicked them on mine)...I additionally had her whole style in mind when creating my lift, especially the playful side of her creations, it's like she's carefree and happy when creating, exploring the artsier sides of scrapbooking and painting and art journaling, happily bringing them all together.

I'll admit..I was terrified...I still am...I like to think I'm handling most styles well, but hers really is one I don't go exploring too often! But once I started...I had fun during the planning stage, thinking....what would Heidi do now....in the end I just had to jump in and get started before I regretted things too much! :D Heidi, I hope you approve! ~Anne Jo

Who wouldn't approve Anne Jo? This is terrific!

We're Mixing it Up With Mixed Media

It's the middle of the week and we thought we would mix things up a bit. At least mix the mediums. Today we have three stunning Mixed Media projects. Each one ready to entice you to break out those art mediums and step out of your comfort zones.

...........................................................................

For our first project we have this beautiful layout created by Heidi Kelley. She shows us how even with a minimalist design you can still incorporate multiple mediums into your work.

TinyMomentsAreEtched

Heidi shares with us some insight into her page.

One of the things that delights me most in creating, is being able to minimally use supplies, making the most out of my papers... Really putting them to work. Prima's papers help me to create this way so easily because of the amount of detail within every paper and collection! I adore the Songbird collection because of the color palette, the detailed patterns, and the endless possibilities for embellishment!
I chose to use pieces of paper cut from this collection as all of my embellishments, using lots of negative space and a backdrop created with a combination of gesso, molding paste, paint, and masking tape. I love how simple, grungy, and beautiful it all looks when put together!

Supplies
  • Songbird Collection Paper #844066, 844080, 844073, 844028
  • Gesso
  • Molding Paste
  • Paint Mists

Our next project is a beautiful gift box with mixed media flare. Anne Jo Lexander does a magnificent job at creating a one of a kind gem.

May_ppp1

I love dressing up a pretty box! I was looking into the bottom of my distress crackle paint (picket fence), so decided to just pour the last drops (almost) all over the box to add some whimsy the overall look. I love combining different fabrics of embellishments - leather flower, canvas flower, felt leaves combined with regular fabric and paper flowers and not to mention the lovely "glass" embellishments snuck in here and there.

Our third and final mixed media piece for the day is a design by Stacey Young. Stacey uses many layers and textures in her projects and this canvas is no different. She uses soft colors and subtle design to pull everything together on this lovely work of art.

014-(6)

This was such a fun process creating this piece and I just adore this picture of me and my boys! I wanted to have a neutral colour scheme and to tie in a little bit of blue to match the boys shirts. I always like my artwork to blend in with the colours in my pictures. I mixed some papers from the Almanac and Songbird collections. I started with the mask up the top of the canvas and then added my papers as a base for my photo. When we go to the beach we always collect shells so I love to incorporate these into my beach scenes. I also found sand left in some of the shells so I scattered that along the bottom of the canvas. I added lots of flowers from the new release along with some older ones. I added sticks which I covered in gesso and  I created with alot of misting and painting.  I finished my project off with the cute little Metal seagulls.

Designer Feature...Lilla Rogers

Today we have the creative mind behind the fun, eclectic Ruby Violet line--Lilla Rogers! Lilla has brought a vast collection of designs that will bring creativity to every project.

New Lilla Rogers printsize2CROP

My line, Ruby Violet, is about fun, funky, vintage, color, and mixing them all up to create something you love.  I design things that I think crafters would love to work with on their scrapbooking and jewelry projects. Most everything can be interchanged so you can use them in both craft areas. You don't even need to know how to do jewelry because it only requires glue!  So that leaves you the fun of designing and playing.
I am an avid collector of odd bits and vintage things.  My ideas of a fun day is to find a new quirky shop to look for treasures.  Pretty much whenever I travel I like to find a bead store or craft store and, if they have a work table there, I like to work on a project in the shop and meet new people.  For me, making things is the best stress reliever.  And doing it with friends is really a guarantee for a great time.
My big news is that I've just finished writing a book for Quarry/Rockport called, "I Just Like to Make Things", due out February 2013.  It's all about art and success and loaded with photos and artwork.  As an artists' agent for a few decades, I have a LOT to say about the art biz. There's a section where I show how I developed the Ruby Violet line with lots of pictures.  Thank god in my spacey head I remembered to take photos of the process as I went along over the years so the visuals of the making of the line is pretty cool. I truly hope the book is helpful and interesting to everybody who wants to have more fun with their art and maybe even make a living at it.
...............................................................
The Ruby Violet Collection is a refreshing line of fun embellishments and papers. The line that fits everyone's style.

Your Friday Dose of Scraplifts

We have another installment of scraplifts from our amazing design team for you. We love seeing how each of them interpret the creativity by their fellow artists.

......................................................................

Our first lift is by Trudi Harrison. She has used this layout created by Anne Jo Lexander as her inspiration.

Ania_layout1

Here is a little bit from Trudi about what she find inspiring in Anne Jo's work.

Anne Jo has a fabulous sense for negative space design, arrangement and detail. Her creations are a breath of fresh air and at times can be whimsical. I particularly love how her creations will feature multi-photo combinations which tell a story; often of an everyday occurrence.  Perfectly placed embellishing allows her photos to shine and hand written journaling tells us the story.

I have taken inspiration from Anne Jo's layout ' So this is us you say?'

I have incorporated the light and dark toning and adapted the design arrangement by rotating it.  The embellishing was moved to vertically through the photo's rather than the along the photo edge.  I also loved the little rows of the Say It In Crystals hearts across the photo edge and instead of replicating, I have incorporated hearts in my embellishing.

  • #843748 12" x 12" Ledger

Our next scraplift comes to us from Steph Devlin. Steph has used this beautiful layout by Hege Lundquist.

Sommeridyll

Steph gives us insight on what she finds creative in Hege's style.

When I was given Hege to scraplift, I was immediately delighted, because I have always adored her use of white space, and I couldn't wait to get started. I chose Heges’s “Summer Feeling” layout because it showcases Hege’s trademark clean vs messy style !!  Here's what I discovered looking closely at Hege's beautiful work:

  •  She loves to use white space.  Often its splattered with black or coloured blotches
  •  She loves to stamp as an accent on her work.
  •  She often mists with masks, and uses resist canvas on her work.
  •  Hege loves layers underneath her photograph to showcase her image.
  •  She also loves mixing fonts on her pages.
Thanks so much Hege, you really inspired me !!!!!

The next source of inspiration for our feature was designed by Maiko Kosugi. Maiko's piece inspired Karola Witczak to create her scraplift.

MAIKO_ORGINAL_PROJECT

Here is what Karola said about using Maiko's work.

I was very happy when we started scraplift idea this month and I had so much pleasure creating my today's projects. Why? Because I scraplifted amazingly talented Maiko! She is absolutely sweet as a person, exactly as her projects are!
I found some similar points between our styles - we both creating rich, detailed layouts and we love adding tons of flowers, layers and embellies. Personally I love Maiko's style for her very feminine touch, she create stunning projects which are sometimes very soft and dreamy, sometimes bold and very rich, but always it's an amazing effect! Love how Maiko adding to her projects some painting and other mediums and starting my today's projects I was focused on the wall mask motif painted with gesso and I little bit of puffy paint. I wanted create similar composition and photo arrangement as she created on her gorgeous "Time" layout using beautiful felt flowers. It had a huge pleasure creating this project and thank you so much Maiko for this fantastic inspiration!!

Our last scraplift for today was inspired by this layout designed by Stacey Young. What a artist piece!

Stacey Young Lift

The lovely Leslie Ashe used Stacey's layout as her lift and has created a stunning piece of her own.

I chose Stacey Young’s “Gorgeous Little Man” layout for many reasons. The beautiful design, amazing details & that gorgeous color palette are just a few of many of reasons.
Right now the turquoise & cream colors together, splashed with a touch of contrasting color is one of my favorite things to use in scrapbooking.
I used Stacey’s bracket design as well as the lovely banners, birdhouses & birds. I even used some of the same papers she used, Although I changed a few things up to reflect my style.
I even used gesso to tone down some of the bright colors and added some other colors.
I love Stacey’s use of dimension & tried to incorporate that as well as I created.  I love her son’s precious photo’s with that bright colorful cap. I chose a photo of similar colors & decided instead of three, I’d just use one square photo to match my design.
Thank you Stacey for ALWAYS inspiring me!

Designer Feature Donna Downey

Email logo

Happy Monday everyone. Today we would like to introduce you to the ever so talented Donna Downey

..........................................................................

Me head 5x7

Donna Downey is a bestselling author, instructor and all-around creative force as a mixed-media artist. In 2000, she got into scrapbooking as an extension of her paper product and photography addiction. This was only the beginning. From working as a popular columnist for Simple Scrapbooks magazine, to traveling the world inspiring women to push the boundaries of their own creativity, to developing her first mixed-media scrapbooking line with Prima in the Spring of ‘09, Donna is consistently on the leading edge of taking creative risks the push the creative envelope and empowering others to do the same with their art.

As a mixed-media artist, Donna is a born experimenter, blending and transforming both traditional and unexpected items into meaningful pieces of self expression. A former elementary school teacher, she has synthesized her first love of teaching with her passion for craft and brings this to women via workshops at scrapbook stores and events, writing books, and through her popular blog and website.

Donna lives in North Carolina with her husband, and is a mother of three exceptionally blonde children, a chihuahua, and one blonde dog.

............................................................................

Donna's new Poppies and Peonies line is full of bright colors, unique designs, and textures ideal for all your scrapbooking and mixed media projects. The line includes canvas, flowers, stamps, albums, and so much more.

Scraplifting Prima Style!

TGIF everyone! Today on the blog we have a fun feature for you. We have a few of our Design Team members doing a scraplift project of each other. Scraplifting is finding others scrapbook pages as inspiration. Using the color schemes, design elements or layout designs as inspiration and taking those elements to create your own masterpiece.

...........................................................................

First we have Stacy Cohen with her take on a page by Anna Dabrowska.

Finn Prima

By: Anna Dabrowska

Here is what Stacy said about what she found inspiring about Anna's page.

I had the pleasure of scraplifting the amazingly talented Anna Dabrowski.   Everything Anna creates is a true work of art.  I chose Anna’s “2009” layout because it showcases Anna’s trademark mix media style.  I was inspired by the beautiful clusters of Prima flowers, the use of colorful mists, and the circle elements that are scattered from one corner to the other.  I created a page with a similar design, but I flipped it over.  Like Anna, I used an array of mixed media products – gesso, paints, texture paste, mists, etc.  However, I changed the color scheme to blues and greens.  I carried over the circle elements by adding chipboard circles and a Prima wood clock, all painted with gesso and then coated with sparkly glitter.

The Boys Canvas sized

  • 550011 Mask
  • 554514 Wood buttons
  • 556327 Velvet Rainbow leaves

  • 557652 Laraine Blue Lagoon

Our next layout was created by Trina McClune. She scraplifted this layout created by Trudi Harrison.

P April BAP Sun Kiss Collection Layout - Trudi Harrison WM

By: Trudi Harrison

Here is what Trina said about looking at Trudy's work.

Here’s what I found when I really looked at Trudi’s work.

  •  She loves to use colour. Often bright and lights together. She will often use one small photo or a couple together. Often on an angle.
  •  She love banners. She LOVES layers.
  •  She often creates what I call a ‘cross’ design. Dividing the page into quarters or halves.
  •  She uses diecuts a lot.
  •  She often has a small amount of subtle journaling. Often spread   throughout the page.
  •  She often mists behind her flowers (although I haven’t done that!).

Scraplift annamariawolniak

By:Anna-Maria Wolniak

Here is a little bit from Sharon about Anna-Maria's work and what she saw that inspired her.

I was really excited to participate in this "Scraplifting Each Other" challenge! My project is inspired by fellow Prima designer, Anna-Maria Wolniak.
Besides the amazing texture Anna-Maria creates with art mediums, she always has a fun, colorful, yet feminine touch to each project. It was hard to narrow down the choices of which layout to lift! Each one of her designs is simply gorgeous and so inspiring. I finally chose one she did a few months ago for our PPP challenge. I LOVE her colors, her placement of elements, and her whimsical artsy touches across the page (and what a sweet title!) I focused on these three areas and came up with my own interpretation using Prima's flocked rub-ons for a major source of texture. (Go Green tip: use the negatives from the flocked rub-ons too!)

Designer Feature Jodie Lee Patterson

In the month of May we will be introducing you to the talented product designers who create some of our amazing product lines. Here you will get to know a little bit about them and the designs they have created.

Jodie_Lee

Today we would like to introduce to you, Jodie Lee. 'Jodie Lee' Patterson is the designer behind the popular "Nature Garden and "Fairy Belle" line of scrapbook collections. An internationally renowned paper crafts designer, Jodie Lee combines a flair for modern design with her love of vintage imagery, and old-world charm, making her a perfect fit for Prima.

  1.  My first name is Jodie, my middle name is Lee. I'm a flower child of the 1970s, I've always loved nature. Almost everything I own has flowers on it.
  2.  I grew up in Australia and hung out at the beach almost every day with Dad. Dad was a local rock guitarist who just happened to look like Barry Gibb from the Bee Gees. I thought he was very cool.
  3.  My parents were hippies - very, relaxed, creative, loving people, who fostered my creativity. Dad was always writing music, and Mum was always making something crafty. Her copper art flowers, macrame hangers and patchwork cushions were all over the house.
  4.  I used to manage a retro clothing store in the alternative part of Sydney in the 90s. I wore a lot of bright polyester back then :)
  5.  Before moving to the USA (8 years ago), I was a newspaper and TV journalist for 10 years in Australia. I got to interview all kinds of famous people. Here is one of my favs - fellow Aussie, Olivia Newton John.
  6.  My two favorite men in my life are my son Luca (8), and my hunky husband Franco. Franco is a Swiss/Italian guy who won a national championship in Karate, and just got a job as Dean at a University in Southern California.
  7.  This is my beautiful daughter Georgia (10). She loves animals, gardening, and is a faster scrapbooker than me. She would have to be Prima's #1 fan.
  8.  I am moving to Southern Cali in July, 2012. I will be 40 mins from the beach, and 30 mins from Prima, and this suits me just fine :)

The Story behind the Fairy Belle Collection and Nature Garden Collections:

I was greatly inspired by Mary Cicely Barker's 'Flower Fairy Series' as a child, and wanted to create some collection that evoked that same kind of fairy fantasy feeling.

The name 'Fairy Belle' was inspired by an antique song sheet in my collection. It fits perfectly with the fairy ballerina images on this line - an amazing collection of beautiful hand-drawn images of Ballerinas from the romantic period (last century). These very rare images were licensed from the Victoria and Albert museum in London, one of the only museum in the world to house the images. The papers took months to create, because of the great detail and the hundreds of different textural layers you see.  I had to restore the images of the ballerinas from the originals, which had faded and gotten a little moldy :)

Here are some photos of the originals ...

The Nature Garden was another fun collection to create, and I wanted it to be a little darker, earthier in color. I had intended it to be just flowers, but as you can see, I couldn't resist putting some fairies in there again! A lot of the images came from antique children's books or botanical books in my collection. ~Jodie Lee

.....................................................................

Jodie Lee products are sold at the finest scrapbook boutiques and craft stores worldwide, and have been featured in such magazines as Creating Keepsakes, Simple Scrapbooks, Crafts n' things, Somerset Memories, and Mary Janes Farm. You can connect with Jodie on her blog: http://www.thegypsychick.blogspot.com/

Be sure and check out our facebook fan page (Prima Marketing Flowers) for give-aways from these two gorgeous collections.

Jodie Lee's designs are full of soft beautiful colors and vintage design. The Nature Garden Collection is a rich collection of floral and bird designs, with a romantic blue and gray color palette.

April Showers Bring Prima MAY Flowers

Thankfully we have flowers for you all year round! May brings us new projects, new challenges, and flowers galore.

Besides the monthly BAP and PPP we will also continue the Pinterest contest! All you have to do is pin one of Prima's Songbird Products or projects from our Pinterest boards. After you pin make sure to comment below our pin saying you did so. You will be entered in a chance to win some Prima goodness. Deadline-May 30th.

We also would love to see you on Facebook! Like our "Prima Marketing Flowers" fan page and tag any project using the Songbird Collection for a chance to win a Prima prize. Deadline for both contests is May 30th. We will pick Facebook and Pinterest winners at the beginning of JUNE!

We will have a few new project features on our blog!

Last month we had started Tag Day, where we featured a group of tag designs from our design team, to help spark that creativity.

This month, we will also include Card Day, Scraplift Day, and Simple and Stupendous Day (One designer will show you two ways to create one layout). We hope these will get those artistic juices flowing.
