Countdown to Christmas: Holiday Treats

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 25 of the Pink Paislee Countdown to Christmas event! It’s hard to believe that this is the last project to be featured for this event; I hope you enjoyed all the fantastic creations that our team made for this occasion!

Today is Christmas Day – hope you spending it with your beloved, family and friends! I have a “last minute” project for you today – small packages for one gingerbread. You can put them on the holiday table for each of feasting, you can also give a little sweet treat to neighbors. My pack is shaped like a book or briefcase, and the creation did not take me much time.

Inspired by the shape and design of a large cards from City Sidewalks Ephemera pack, I decided to use them for my project – they gave the character and style of the whole package. As you can see – I cut out the windows in the center of cards and sticked it with 3d cubes – in this way I made very dimensional front cover.  In fact, every element has been stuck here with 3d cubes – I really love this three-dimensional look!

To decorate my packages,I used small pieces of City Sidewalks Ephemera and City Sidewalks Paper Garlands – these are so cute!! Holly leaves and some City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard. I embellished also by adding a few drops of  red glitter glue. At the end, I added a lot of small 3d paint dots to mimic more frosty and snowy look. My packages are attached with ribbon, so that you can close the packages without having to worry that the sweets will fall out. In any case, my bags with gingerbread are stuck to the package using double-sided adhesive tape.

Countdown to Christmas: Layered Magic

Hi Pink Paislee fans, we are almost there!!!  1 more sleep!!!!!   I am still not sure who is more excited, me or the kids!  Our Countdown to Christmas continues today on the blog with a new layout I have created using the City Sidewalks collection.  I looked forward to working with this Christmas line, and it paired beautifully with 2 of my sweet boys.  It really is the most magical time of year!

My background started with some masking, and then I added sprays and flickers of Color Shine.  I loved the circle elements out of the Paper Garland pack and handstitched them together running them down my page.  I also layered the Snowflakes to add more dimension to my page.

The vintage Santa picture out of the Ephemera pack was a favourite for me, and I couldn’t help but tuck him in behind the picture.

Plus a little banner to finish off the design.

I wish you all a Merry and Safe Christmas.

  • 00807 City Sidewalks Storytime

Countdown to Christmas: Pets

Hello,There!

It´s Renata Moni here with another Countdown to Christmas project to inspire you! I created a scrapbook layout to share with you. My subject is a new member of my family. A cute little kitty! :)

Using some papers and tags, I created a background to my cute picture and added some embellishments from the City Sidewalks collection that is amazing.

The chipboards stars from Artisan Collection are  the perfect match for a Christmas layout. I decided not to customize them and look how cool they are  in white!

As you can see in my projects, I love layers. And Here I decided to layer embellishments to make a unique ornament to my page .

Another thing I love is mixing different types to make my title. Those Pink Paislee alphas are perfect together. Look how beautiful it is.

Well that´s all for now, people! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!

Countdown to Christmas: Candy Cane Place Holders

Wow! Can you believe there are only a couple of days left until Christmas?

Welcome to Day 22 of our countdown! We hope you’ve enjoyed all of the Christmas ideas this month using our beautiful City Sidewalks collection! I have a quick and easy project you can make for your holiday table place settings, or just as a decoration. These are made from full size candy canes.

I used 3 candy canes for the place holder. Using hot glue, the 2 front ones are attached together in the centers first, then I leaned them back a bit how I wanted them to sit and hot glued the third candy cane in the back. This extra “leg” allows it to stand up. Here is what they look like from the side. You can wrap some tinsel around them and add a City Sidewalks chipboard snowflake. The detail on these snowflakes are amazing – I just love them!

Now you can dress these up any way you wish. You can add photos of your family for a decor project, or little place cards for each dinner guest in the holders! Mini candy canes can be used as well if you want to try a smaller version. To the “Merry Christmas” place holder, I added some City Sidewalks Parcels Tags. I cut a large snowflake out of the blue snowflake paper called Special Delivery and placed it behind the tags, added another chipboard snowflake and a City Sidewalks Ephemera piece that looks like a peppermint candy. (See photo below.)

On the second place card holder, I used more of the Parcel Tags and Chipboard Snowflakes and inserted a photo instead of a sentiment.

One more shot at the both of these…

I think these would make a fun teacher or neighbor gift also, they’re very inexpensive and quick to make.

Countdown To Christmas: Make your own memory file

We are closing in on the day.  Pictures being snapped, a collection of memorable moments fresh in your mind and maybe you are looking for a special place to put them this year like myself.  We have seen and used them many times before…accordion file systems.  From school work to household finances…maybe this year create your very own to use for all of those amazing holiday moments.

Its pretty simple.  All you need is a scoring tool, such as Scor-Pal, your City Sidewalk Collection and adhesive.  Begin by creating the sides, cutting two 6″ x 6″ pieces of paper.  Adhere them together (to make sure the sides are sturdy).  Score at 1/2″ spacing until you reach the end of the piece.  Fold and and repeat to create the other side.  Cut four strips of paper 6″ x 12″ and adhere/stitch together.  I used a file folder die to create a border on one side (closing flap).

Create dividers using Portfolio tabs, City Sidewalk tags and paper.

Each insert is a 5.5″ x 10″ piece of paper folded in half then stitched.  Then it is time to embellish the outside of the envelope and add your special photos and record your memorable moments.

Countdown to Christmas: Santa Photo

Hi!  Kim here for the 20th day of our Countdown to Christmas event!  Not long to go till the big day now, so I thought I would share with you my idea for a layout using a Santa photo.

I have added an extra twist to this idea by also including my son’s letter to Santa in a pocket I created behind the large photo.  I simply stapled the letter onto one of the City Sidewalks tags and then folded the letter around the tag so that it fit into the pocket.  I also included another tag with journaling.

I love the large range of embellishments in the City Sidewalks range – it makes it so easy to create lovely layers of embellishments to enhance your photo and layout.  Since this layout was about Santa and my son’s wish list, I focused on embellishments with a Santa or toy theme.
I also used the Santa flash card word as part of the title.

Countdown to Christmas: Home Decor

Welcome to Day 19 of the Countdown to Christmas event! Hope you are enjoying all the amazing Christmas inspiration thus far! Today I have a mixed media holiday home decor project to share featuring pretty patterned paper from the City Sidewalks Collection along with City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard. To create this project, I first adhered pretty City Sidewalks Story Time to the wooden wall hanging then randomly applied heidi swapp Tropicana Teal and Tinsel Color shine along with Gesso. I made a die cut cardstock banner using Die-namics Fishtail Banner which showcases shimmery metallic Portfolio – Alphabet Stickers that add a wonderful sparkle to the project :)

The center snowflake embellishment was made using Sizzix Tim Holtz Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die / Snowflake Rosette to die cut a piece of  City Sidewalks Special Delivery. Once the the die cut snowflake embellishment was made, I layered a few City Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard then topped it off with a crystal brad.

On each side of the main snowflake embellishment are more layered snowflakes made using Sizzix Tim Holtz – Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die – Mini Paper Rosettes along with more beautiful Sidewalks SnowFlakes Chipboard.

Thanks so much for visiting the Pink Paislee blog! Wishing you all a joyous holiday season!

Countdown to Christmas: Cards & Gift Tags

Hi Everyone! Hope you guys are enjoying the “Countdown to Christmas” event here on the Pink Paislee blog – and of course, don’t forget about the Sweepstakes that we’re hosting (have you entered yet?).  I’m here today to share more inspiration for Christmas cards and gift tags using the gorgeous vintage City Sidewalks Collection.  With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve been in major production mode to get all my cards and tags out in time…. how are you doing on yours?

When it comes to cards and/or tags, I opted to use the papers from the 8×8 paper packs so that I could get more of the pattern paper designs in the smaller working space.  For example, on the card here, I used the special delivery pattern paper from the 8×8 pack and thus as you can see, more of the gorgeous vintage designs were included. Then to complete the card, I first cut out a banner from the shrunken city shopper pattern paper and added a few die cuts from the  paper garland and parcel tag packs.

And for the tags, I based the design around the size of the doilies that I used.  Punching out the pattern papers so that it perfectly covers the middle portion of the doilies. Then added a few banners in different sizes behind the punched circle and doilies before adhering the various die cuts (just loving that adorable reindeer!) and circle shaped chipboard pieces from the snowflake chipboard pack.  Then for the finishing touches, I added a few loose threads to give it that shabby chic feel (or so I think…LOL).

Countdown To Christmas: Advent Calendar

According to Wikipedia “An Advent calendar is a special calendar used to count or celebrate the days in anticipation of Christmas. The days often overlap with the Christian season of Advent. Despite the name, most commercially available Advent calendars begin on December 1, regardless of when Advent begins, which can be as early as November 27 and as late as December 3. Many take the form of a large rectangular card with “windows” of which there are usually 24: one for each day of December leading up to Christmas Day. One is opened every day leading up to Christmas. The calendar windows open to reveal an image, poem, a portion of a story or a small gift, such as a toy or a chocolate item. Some calendars are strictly religious, whereas others are secular in content.

I used the KaiserCraft Shadow Box Drawer as the base of my project and then decorated it using lots of City Sidewalks goodies!

There are so many little bits in the City Sidewalks Ephemera pack that made this project come together quickly!

To create the “tree” I wrapped the Artisan Scallop Ribbon around a paper cone and then I embellished it with small red berries.

I love dimension so I added bingo numbers and bottle caps too!

Cover all the boxed with paper and ink edges as desired!  I used the City Sidewalks 8 x 8 paper pack since I only needed small pieces!  It worked out perfectly.

No matter what you choose to put inside your advent calendar it is always a fun tradition for your family to participate in!  Have a wonderful holiday season!

Countdown to Christmas: Little Gifts Wreath

Hi everyone… Jess here again with another home decor project with the awesome City Sidewalks collection!

I love wreaths.  I love them for all seasons, all over the house, outside doors, inside doors, the mantel… everywhere.  They make great gifts, too, but I have a tendency to make them for other people and then end up keeping them for myself!  I am not even going to pretend that this one is going to another home because I love it too much to give it away.

I cut the wreath form from a piece of chipboard and wrapped it in white yarn for the base.  I then cut all the little gifts from City Sidewalks on my Silhouette (but you could hand cut them or wrap tiny boxes the old fashioned way) and tied them with twine.
I hot glued all the gifts around the base in a pleasing arrangement and added a few glittery chip snowflakes.  I formed the triple looped bow with a wide satin ribbon and topped it with a larger snowflake, coordinating die cut, and a brad.
I strung the banner with more twine and used the pretty silver Portfolio letter stickers to spell out a cheerful “merry” in the center.
How fun is that!? It looks like it took a long time to make this but it was much simpler than it appears.  I chose to use only the red, light blue, and white prints from this line because I wanted it to last the whole winter season.  It’s definitely going to take me a while to take this one down!
