Scor-Pal Blog Hop: Christmas Cards Ideas + Idea Book & FPD Goodies Giveaway
Hi everyone! Welcome to the fourth day in our blog hop with Scor-Pal. I hope you are having a fantastic December so far! Today, I am sharing some Christmas cards I made with the Home for Christmas collection. I also used my Scor-Pal and some Scor-Tape. There's still some time left to make cards for neighbors or friends if you want to. ;)
Have A Very Merry Christmas
I used my Scor-Pal and made random scores on my card and then sanded them down to create a fun background. I used the Scor-Tape on the left side of my card and then added glitter to it, a very easy way to add glitter to your projects. That stamped tree was the perfect finishing touch to my card.
Merry Christmas
I LOVED the houses in the Home For Christmas brag pad, I just knew I wanted to use them on a card. I used my Scor-Pal to make a corrugated border to place under the cute houses.
Christmas
If you've seen much of my work then you know that I LOVE the stencil cards! This time I tried adding it to my card directly as is...no ink and no missing letters. I love it! And the Scor-Tape works perfectly to keep all the letters together simply by placing a strip behind the whole thing. The Scor-Tape also works wonderful with ribbon...so easy!

Scor-Pal Blog Hop: Journaling Card & Gift Box + Idea Book & FPD Goodies Giveaway
I am so excited to be part of the Scor-Pal blog hop! I was not very familiar with this product until now and I love it! I had so much fun working on my projects! I created a fun journaling card {or gift tag/gift card holder} and a gift card box!
The journaling card was made using one of our Friday Freebie patterns, found HERE!
I printed the free pdf file onto some cream paper from our Home For Christmas collection. I trimmed the bottom area off and used my Scor-pal Scor-Buddy to score along the dotted lines.
Then, I cut it out according to the pattern to attach the pocket to the card (also part of the pdf file).
Then, using my Scor-Tape, I added it to the scored parts of my card pocket and adhered to the card.
Last, I fancied up the front of the card pocket with some of our Home For Christmas patterned papers, layered stickers, and made a fun 'junk bow' with a mix of ribbons and papers! I also added some text and design to the included library card! This is a perfect little journaling piece, gift tag or great for tucking a holiday or git card in...whatever you like!
And, on to the gift card box! It seems like more and more I end up buying gift cards for the holidays and I always feel like it's so impersonal--even if it isn't :)...so, when I saw the gift card holder box in the Scor-Pal book, Score, Fold, Create! I knew I had to make a few to really personalize the gift cards I was giving and I'm so happy with the result...and, it really was easy!! I simply followed the instructions included in Score, Fold, Create! and within 30 minutes had a fancy gift box complete with a little ribbon pull on the drawer! The gift card fits perfectly inside! I embellished the box with more of our Home For Christmas collection!

Scor-Pal Blog Hop: Holiday Card + Idea Book & FPD Goodies Giveaway
Today, I am showing you how to use the Scor-Buddy by Scor-Pal to make a dress look more texturized. Using the "Home for Christmas" collection, I am making a few Christmas cards for a few special people in my life.
Fancy Pants Designs supplies:
Home for Christmas: Patterned papers
Home for Christmas: Sticker Fundamentals
Ball trim
Other supplies:
Scor-Pal: Scor-Buddy
Instructions:
1. Cut out the silhouette of the woman. Turn the silhouette over and use a pencil to draw the lines as shown.
3. With the lines as a guide, score the lines. When you turn the silhouette over, you can clearly see the scored lines.
5. Add a fun belt using Fancy Pants Designs ball trims.
6. Score the back side of a piece of background paper for the card as shown.
7. Score a second piece of background paper for the card.
8. Cut out a present to put atop of the platter. Assemble the elements together. Use Fancy Pants Designs Stickers Fundamentals for sentiment.
I made two versions of the cards that you can see. The scored effect looks much more pronounced in the photography using on the solid color paper. I hope this has been helpful and give you an idea on how to use the Scor-Buddy by Scor-Pal.
We hope you are enjoying all of the project inspiration this week. Remember to leave a comment on this

Scor-Pal Blog Hop: Wintry Wreath + Idea Book & FPD Goodies Giveaway
This week we’re excited to be kicking off a week of projects we’ve created using Fancy Pants Designs products with Scor-Pal. Sometimes as winter goes on, it can get a little blah ... but it doesn’t have to with these pretty papers. I thought I’d start by sharing how I created this wreath using the Blissful Blizzard line and my Scor-Pal. I’m going to need something “Wintry” to put up after I have to take down the Christmas Decorations.
Fancy Pants Designs supplies:
Blissful
Blizzard: Patterned papers (Snow Pack, Ice Crystals, Sparkly Mom, Snow Balls)
Blissful
Blizzard: Banner Die Cuts
Buttons
Other supplies:
Scor-Pal: Scor-Buddy
Die-AccuCut
– Flower #6 F1445LC
Wreath
form-Hobby Store
Hot Glue Gun
Instructions:
Step
1. I started with a 9 inch pressed wood
wreath form from the craft store like this.
Step 2. I cut 22 strips of paper 12” x 1.5” (11 of Woodsy and 11 of Sparkly Mom). Find the center (or near the center. This doesn’t have to be precise as you can trim the end when you cut it in a V later). Once you have your center, place it face down onto your Scor-Pal. Here is where you can choose the thickness of your bend to fit over the thickness of our wreath. Then score your two lines. You can see how I have done this in the photo below.
Step 3. Once you have all 22 done you can make “V” cuts to the ends of all. If you want to make sure they are all perfectly even, just use the first one for a guide for the others.
Step 4. Now you can start assembling the base of your wreath. Start adhering your 11 Woodsy strips around your wreath form slightly over lapping each other. See how nicely they lay when they’ve been scored with your Scor-Pal? Once you have gone all the way around with those, add your 11 strips of Sparkly Mom between (and overlapping) the pieces of your first row of Woodsy strips.
Step 5. Now it’s time to “pretty it up” with some flowers. Using a die cutting machine, cut flower shapes from your Fancy Pants Designs papers. I used my Scor-Pal tool to curl up my flower peddles.
Step 6. Put your flowers together, add a button to the center, and add your flowers around the center edge of your wreath with hot glue.
Step 7. Now for interest, add pieces from the Blissful Blizzard Banner Die Cut Sheet and Measuring Tape strips from the Snow Pack sheet of paper to the “V” Cut strips already on the wreath.
Step 8. Creating your “Welcome” title. I wanted to show you how I used my Scor-Pal as a way to emboss and sand to create a border for my title. I cut a 5x2 inch piece of the Ice Crystals paper, flipped it over facing down onto my Scor-Pal. After choosing the width of the border I want it, I score .. following the guide on the board, going around all four edges. I take it off the board, face up on my desk, and using my emery board, lightly sand away the color, leaving a white border.
From here you can just print off you title, to finish up and add it to your wreath.
I hope you found some inspiration here, to brighten your home to carry you through till Spring!

Calendars for the holidays are a gift giving tradition! I like to make mine personal and unique and avoid the kittens and movie characters you can find at the mall. This desktop calendar truly IS the gift that keeps on giving as every month the recipient will turn a new beautiful page. This little calendar stands up on its own frame and doesn’t take much time at all if you work in stages. I cut all my main papers at once, then chose the calendar cards to match the month in some way (pink and red in February for example), then chose the banner die cuts to match, and then added the smaller details.
Fancy Pants Designs products:?
The Good Life: 12x12 papers?
The Good Life: Sticker Fundamentals
?The Good Life: Banner Die Cuts?
The Good Life: Tape Stickers?
The Good Life: Layered Stickers
?The Good Life: Mingled Brads?
The Good Life: Chipboard Frames?
Artist Edition: Number Stencil Cards?
Artist Edition: Calendar Cards
??Other Supplies: ?
bare chipboard, 2 book rings, black pen, ribbon, a small amount of washi tape or other tape??
For the stand:?
1. Cut two 4.5 x 6.5 pieces and one 4.5 x 2.5 piece of lightweight chipboard.?
2. Cover them with patterned paper that is 5.5 x 7.5 for the larger pieces and 5.5 x 3.5 for the smaller piece. Trim the corners. Fold the edges over and adhere so one side is completely covered in paper.
3. Cut two lengths of ribbon approximately 12” each. You are going to sandwich them in between the chipboard and the paper that covers them in the next few steps. ?
4. Cut one 4.5 x 6.5 pieces to cover the other side of one of the larger chipboards. This will become the back of your calendar. ?
5. Cut a 4.5 x 2.5 piece to cover the other side of the small chipboard. This will become the bottom of your calendar. Adhere one ribbon from the bottom as the picture shows.?
6. Use a length of tape (washi looks great!) to adhere the back and bottom chipboard pieces together, leaving a very small gap so they can bend. ?
7. Cover the other side of the front chipboard piece with a 4.5 x 6.5 piece of the Laughter black chevron print, adhering one ribbon from the bottom as we did before. This will become the front of your calendar.
??For the cover:
?1. Back the grey polka dotted chipboard frame with the red side of the Tokens paper and outline in black pen.?
2. Outline the “2013” numbers with black pen and add to the bottom of the frame. ?
3. Add a brad to the center of the layered flower and adhere it above the numbers.?
4. Add the stickers as shown.??
??For the pages?:
Again, I suggest cutting your pieces first and working from smaller and smaller scraps before assembling them all. ??
1. Outline each 4.5 x 6.5 page in black pen?
2. Cut a 4.5 x 3 piece to coordinate with the page and border punch both sides. Adhere to the lower half.
?3. Outline a die cut banner in black pen and adhere as shown in the photos (I cut some of them in half to “lengthen” them).?
4. Add an Artist Edition calendar page on top of the banner. (write dates with black pen if desired)?
5. Add a 4.5 x ½” strip of coordinating paper on top of the calendar page
?6. Mat a sticker phrase and add it to the bottom of the page.?
7. Use letter stickers to spell out the month on coordinating paper and trim it in a banner shape. Add it to the strip at the top. ?
To Assemble:?
1. Punch two holes near the top of your cover. Use these to measure hole placement for all the pages and the back cover and punch those as well. ?
2. Stack the calendar back, pages in the correct order, and then the cover and thread them on to the book rings. ??Tie the two pieces of ribbon in a bow to stand the calendar with the cover facing out. When it is time to use the calendar the front cover is turned over and you can again tie the ribbons in a bow in the back and it will stand to show the calendar pages.??

Guest Designer: Melissa Stinson
Hello, everyone! My name is Melissa Stinson, and I'm thrilled to be guest designing with Fancy Pants Designs this month!
Before I launch into my projects, here's a little background information about me- I’m a 32 year old software engineer married to a full-time graduate student (and med school hopeful). We don’t have kids, so my scrapbooks are filled with photos of our everyday (and not so everyday) adventures. We love to travel when our work and school schedules line up to allow it, and when we’re at home we’re always into something (the current project is DIY’ing a new kitchen from the floor up). I love documenting all of those things in my albums and having them to look back on. It’s amazing how many things my scrapbooks remind me of that I would have otherwise forgotten!
When Amy first got in touch with me and asked me to guest design with
Fancy Pants Designs, I crossed my fingers and hoped that Hopscotch would be one
of the collections I was asked to work with. I was totally thrilled
to find it included in my package- I'm so in love with the colors and
the patterns in this collection! For my first layout with this set I
pulled out a travel photo from a couple of years ago. It seems I like
to take photos of flowers whether at home or on vacation, and this
lovely bunch of bougainvillea had been sitting in my photo binder for
quite a while just waiting for the perfect paper to match it. I used a
set of blooms cut from the large floral paper as the largest
embellishment on my page, then cut pennant shapes from some of the other
papers in Hopscotch to layer behind the photo.
I love using the same scrapping supplies that I use for my regular
layouts in my Project Life album, so after I was finished making my
bougainvillea layout I went ahead and put together a Project Life page,
too! This is a great way to use up leftovers after you've finished
scrapping with a collection, and also a fun way to be creative when you
might be short on time since each pocket only takes a few minutes to
embellish and complete. The tiny alphabets in the Hopscotch collection
kit were especially useful for adding small titles and captions to my
layout.
The snowy scene in the photo on this page might seem far removed from
the tropical blooms on my Hopscotch collection layout, but would you
believe these pictures were taken less than 6 weeks apart (in completely
different locations, of course!)? I love how the muted reds and aquas
and soft grays of Blissful Blizzard really enhance the chilly feeling of
this photo. The sheet of silver glittered cardstock might have been my
favorite thing in the whole pack- as soon as I spotted it I pulled out
my snowflake punches to whip up some custom embellishments for my page!
Thank you to everyone for stopping by today, and thanks to Amy and Fancy Pants Designs for allowing me the honor of being this month's guest designer. I had a blast playing with Hopscotch and Blissful Blizzard! If you'd like to see more of my scrapbooking, please stop by and visit my blog.

FilLeD wItH ThAnKs MInI BoOk and upcoming ANnoUnCemEnT!
I wanted to finally get you a closer look at a sneak peek of the class I was teaching at an Event in London. It's titled "My Life" and it is filled with thoughts and images of my family and why I am ThAnKFuL for them—because they are each different in their own way :)! I used our Artist Edition Journaling Cards as the base for this book and I LOVE how it turned out (plus I have enough cards left for another complete book). Most of the products here are from our collection The Good Life, along with our fun Artist Edition Stencil Cards ... I love these cards ... they are an easy add embellishment that are perfect for titles and accenting! This shows most of the pages in the album! I hope you like it and I hope you all have a very Happy Thanksgiving filled with family, friends, food and fun!
