ATC Challenge - Marah Johnson!

Marah_PictureHello - Marah Johnson here to share some of my ATC {Artist Trading Cards} with you!  I love working on a tiny canvas....the small area takes away the intimidation of figuring out what to do with so much space. ATC's are the perfect size to experiment with techniques textures and new products. There is something rather freeing about knowing that  you are working in a 2 1/2x3 1/2" space.
Who doesn't love using their leftover scraps? I know all of you out there have a stash of all kinds of goodies that are too small for the average paper crafting project but would be perfect for these little tiny masterpieces.  So go ahead and give it a try - you will find these little treasures are addictive!

Here are a few of my favorite ATC's

Atc 1

May Arts and Luminarte

Hello Everyone, Lynn here with a project using some gorgeous ribbon form May Arts and the oh so FUN Luminarte paints!!

Today we have another winner for our blog hop as we promised to pick a winner from our Facebook page!  Congratulations to Lynn Johnstone Beier.  Lynn please send me an email to with your address!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I created a 4x4 canvas mixed media style using our new Think Pink Luminarte paint.  Think Pink is a special petite collection of six never released Luminarte colors with positive names, like Hopeful Honeysuckle, Courageous Rose, Luv-u-Pink, Good news green, Lucky Apple and Dreams Bloom!  By purchasing this kit, Creative Imaginations will give back to a different cancer each month in the hopes of helping to finding a cure.  Look for this collection in your favorite craft store.

???I painted sheer white May Arts ribbon with Courageous Rose Twinkling h20's - a beautiful pink in the Think Pink Collection of Luminarte. Once dry, I shaped the painted ribbon like a Breast Cancer bow and added it to my canvas. I took plain white chipboard alpha and painted it with Lucky Apple, another gorgeous color from the Think Pink Collection. I added some cute butterflies, a flower and leaves for added dimension.

This would make a great gift for a cancer survivor or family member. Thanks for stopping by and please head on over to te May Arts Blog to see more fabulous projects.

Cards by Alice

Hello and thanks for stopping by today.  It's another Cards by Alice event and today I've got lots to share with you.

First up, we have a new line from Christine Adoph called Winter Song.  This collection is very soft and can be used in many ways.  I'm am not normally a "purply" gal, but after designing with this new collection, how can you not love purple?

Winter-Song The die cut shapes in this collection are so beautiful!  I used the bird die cut on my card as my center piece.  It's eye catching itsn't it?

Next up I designed a card using one of my favorite collections IOD called, Beach Cottage.  I was really inspired by this line so I made 2 cards.  What do you think about a scallop shape card?  Neat, huh!

I really think the design in this collection is so life like with a hint of water color effects.  The stickers and die cuts really pop off the card and the color scheme in this lie goes so well together. I added some glitter to the shells so they don't get lost on the card.

Here's the second card I made using Beach Cottage.  I really like the set up in the design.  The patterns are all beach theme, but you can use it for anything.  What do you think about this?

Here's the last card for today using Samantha Walker's A to Z.  I thought this was a great line and so different from anything I've seen from Samantha Walker.  I really like the vintage school theme, don't you?  This line really brings back memories when I was in grammer school...LOL.

May Arts and Luminarte!

Friday means another winner of our prize package!!!

Linda Dristas "Found you all from May Arts, and I'm hooked. Thanks for the great Luminarte videos and the inspiration! I only have a few H2O's, found in my local art store, can't wait to explore...May Arts and Luminarte what a great combo. Thanks CI Design Team!"  Linda please email me your address at and we will get your prize package out right away!

Hi there, it's Eva here continuing our week of fun with May Arts, particularly the gorgeous white ribbons that can be altered with Creative Imaginations Luminarte products.  I love products that I can paint and get a very custom look, gorgeous product to play with.  Here is what I came up with.

May Arts Christmas

Do you see that gorgeous ribbon???  It certainly started out as white.  I used May Arts 1.5" wide EA01 ribbon for this card and I literally created this gorgeous look in the matter of a few minutes.  All you need is a teflon mat, pour a few drops of Luminarte Pourable paints on the mat and add your ribbon and just let it pick up the colors.  I like to add different colors to get a varigated look.  This card was super quick and easy to make and I combined Christine Adolph's Winter Song papers along with Unity stamps.

Products used:

Luminarte Pourable kits:

29050 Indian Sunset (I used Persimmon)

29054 Glamour Girl (I used Apple Blossom)

29047 Summer Meadow (I used Fern)

28745 Winter Song Songbird DS Paper

28747 Winter Song Holly DS Paper

28751 Winter Song Diecut Shapes

There is still time to win a prize package! Remember just post a comment on our blog and we will pick another winner on Monday morning!  And don't forget to become a fan and post on our Facebook wall for additional chance to win!  And be sure to hop on over to the May Arts blog and post a comment - three chances to win a prize package!!!

May Arts Ribbon/CI Luminartes

Hi...Alicia here!  I am thrilled to show off these gorgeous May Arts ribbons and mix them with Creative Imaginations Luminarte paints.  I love how easy these ribbons are to color to match your project.  I made this fun card from the fabulous Samantha Walker A to Z collection.  I used the May Arts stem ribbon and painted it with the Luminarte Twinkling H2O's Kiwi  and Spiced Pumpkin colors.  I then took the lacy May Arts ribbon and also colored it with the pretty pumpkin color.

Look how cute this card turned out?  Don't be afraid to experiment with the May Arts ribbon and Luminarte paints.  It's really easy.

May Arts Meets Luminarte

Our first winner of our Luminarte and May Arts ribbons goes to {insert drum roll}.................Jean Marmo!! Jean please email me your shipping address to and i will get your prize out promptly! :)

Hello everyone!!  I am continuing the May Arts and Creative Imaginations blog hop and hopefully getting you in the mood for the upcoming holidays.    I created 2 Christmas cards using Winter Song, May Arts white ribbon and Luminarte paints.

On the first card, I mixed Vavoom Red and Sugar Plum (from the Holiday Sparkle kit) to change the color of the 1.5" linen ribbon and the flower to better match the patterned paper.  I love the hint of sparkle that the luminarte added to each piece.

Luminarte works well on felt too!!  I wanted to keep the color of the 2.5" Floral felt border white, but add some sparkle to it.  I painted it with Ice luminarte (from the Holiday Sparkle kit) and then stitched it to white cardstock, after drying thoroughly and then adhered it to the card.  The white on white adds so much texture to this card.

Products used:

29030 Holiday Sparkle kit

Christine Adolph Winter Song

28753 Gems

28751 Die Cuts

28743 Silver Evening

28745 Song Bird

28747 Holly

Don't forget to keep posting your comments - we will be announcing more Luminarte and May Arts ribbon prizes!

May Arts will be giving away some ribbon from their "white and cream" collection - perfect for creating matching ribbons for your projects!

Thanks for checking out the blog.  Be sure to stop by May Arts blog for more inspiration!!

May Arts Blog Hop

Happy Tuesday!  It's going to be a week long of inspiration here on the Creative Imagination's blog.  We are teaming up with May Arts to bring you lots of creative ways to use Creative Imaginations Luminarte Products and May Arts ribbon.

For my card today I used a blend of several May Arts ribbons.  I also ueed our Luminarte paints and the Devotion collection by IOD.

I started out with white linen ribbon and used H2O's to color the white ribbon.  My H2O colors are Lucky Apple and Courageous Rose from our Think Pink Collection {note a portion of the proceeds from Think Pink is donated to finding a cure for Cancer} Next I trimmed my ribbons at the ends to create a banner like tip.  I also added some lace for texture.  I punched out 2 scallop shapes and add the leaf ribbon from May Arts as my stem.

By using H2O's on white ribbon from May Arts you can change the color to match what ever project you are using.  I just loved how this turned out!  What a great combination and it works really well with the IOD Devotion line too!

Thanks for visiting and come back tomorrow for more inspiration and another chance to win!

Still Lovin' IOD's Loolah Collection!

Hello Everyone, Lynn here to share a project I created using IOD's Loolah Collection. Lately I have been bitten by the Mixed Media bug! I have been creating canvases like crazy and have been loving it!! It's amazing to watch a blank canvas come to life with layers upon layers of different mediums. For this project I started with an 8x8 canvas and covered it with strips of patterned papers from the collection. I then added a light layer of transparent white paint over the papers. I grabbed some of my FAV stamps and randomly added images to the canvas - building on the layers. I created two little birds out of music paper and painted them with Hot Cinnamon Twinkling H20's. I added the birds and some cute cardstock stickers to the canvas and added some rub-ons for even more interest. Here is the end result ....

Here's a close-up of the birdies:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope this project inspires you to create something with this fun and cheerful collection by IOD!!

New Inspiration Challenge by Eva!

Hello everyone, it's Eva here announcing a new monthly challenge, where we bring you ideas to inspire you with.  I promise it will be fun and hope you play along, as there are some yummy prizes involved.  How could you not play along, right????

My first Inspiration Challenge is using one of the amazing products Creative Imaginations makes.  Have you seen the Real Wood line?  Have you had a chance to play with it yet?  Well, if not, it's time to play with some and here is where I will share the card I made using Real Wood Thin Cherry paper.

Real Wood card - Grateful for you

One of my favorite techniques with the Real Wood line is to dry emboss it and just paint it lightly with acrylic paint.  That is exactly how achieved the look of this card.  Can't wait to see your creative ways to use Real Wood products.

Here is the list of the Creative Imaginations items I used on this card:

Hope you play along with us, just upload your Real Wood creations to our gallery and make sure you add in the title REAL WOOD.  Here is what the winner will get.

An assortment of Real Wood papers

Real wood

And since I used some of Samantha Walkers Orchard Harvest papers to create my card with, the winner will also receive this collection.  How fun is that!
